Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!
The second day of VBS was just as much fun as the first. The kids are having a great time, and I think the adults are enjoying it even more! Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so we had a birthday party for her after VBS ended for the day. She was so surprised! And the kids loved the ice cream cake I picked up at Dairy Queen...LOL.
I had another meeting at City Hall after all that, and I didn't get home till 10:30 last night. This mayor stuff keeps me busy, whew!

Christmas in July is not an official holiday here. It's just something us CRAZY CHRISTMAS PEOPLE love to make a fuss about!
There are stores that use the term, Christmas in July, to sell merchandise but majority of the USA does not do any kind of celebration and most people think we are nuts for even using the term. I don't mind being a NUT! :-D
So yes, you can have Christmas in July! Just put on some Christmas music, have some Christmas dinner and join us on here. I bet you can still view QVC online and watch Christmas in July sales on there with us. :yahoo:

Tomorrow I have speech recognition editor training. Not looking forward to doing it but I have to so may as well just try to learn it as fast as I can !!

THANKS CAH I wood like to make a fuss about it to. but over here i stand alone. that is another one yes we get qvc but its the uk one and NO christmas in july.but i can watch it on line which is no good as sure as hell iwood see something i want for christmas.~{{ but as you say i can join in here.

I think most of us (not all) stand alone too, that is why we join on the forums to celebrate it. I don't know anyone personally that mention anything about Christmas in July, just retail stores and Home Shopping. There might be some TV stations that show movies but not in my city, blah! lol...I think most people grumble when they hear the word, "Christmas", in the middle of the summer. For some reason they find it offensive to see any Christmas merchandise or the mention of it before mid November. Not me, I LOVE IT!!! =)
The one good thing about having little ones around, like my grandchildren, they have no issues of mentioning Christmas in the middle of the summer! :-x

I am on Michael Buble's youtube channel and hit the "play all" in his Christmas video section. He is telling a story of his best Christmas memory. He said when he was little that his parents had to keep him out of his room for 4 days before Christmas because the room was being "sprayed" for bugs and he could not be in there with the fumes. On Christmas morning he was allowed in there and his whole room was transformed into all Star Wars. He thought how magical for Santa to be able to go in there and do that after the room was sprayed with bug spray. I thought that was cool!
I am listening to all his Christmas music right now and loving it!!! I think he did really well with it. I hope no one throws rocks at me but I never cared for Mariah Carey's, "All I want for Christmas is You". I respect it and others love it but I don't care for it that much. Michael Buble sings it and I LOVE his version of it way better!!! Just my opinion though!
