When you talk about Palmer I get a picture of her doing what you call "Palmerize"!! Cracks me up!!!

Good morning!

The sun is out and it is going to be a warm 38 degrees today - I just might be able to get a walk in during lunch :D

Working and organizing again today. Tomorrow I go out searching for store stock and buying dog food. I also hope to find a pair of warmer slippers - so far all the stores have been out of my size. I really need a new pair because Palmer has practically destroyed my current ones. I am just really thankful she is active and happy - slippers can be replaced, after all :D

Have a MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!!

i see absoulutely no harm in having a picture of jesus on the i pod...nothing disrespectfull about it!!!!

I totally agree, if i had internet on my phone, Jesus would definitely be a background on my phone/ electronic device. There is nothing disrespectful about it

Yes, I did have another fantastic day. After I signed off last night, I, too, curled up with my Nook. I have over 60 pages of books listed. That's insane!!!

Good! I'm glad. I just started reading the Kardashian's novel Dollhouse and it isnt bad so far. I may even finish it today. I started a challenge to myself December 1st. I need to read 6,000 book pages by March 1st. So far I'm doing good with it

I received the following and hope it interjects some humor in your day:

Have you ever been to these places I’ve been?

I have been in many places, but I've never been in Cahoots.
Apparently, you can't go alone ~ you have to be in Cahoots with someone.
I've also never been in Cognito. I hear no one recognizes you there.

I have, however, been in Sane. They don't have an airport; you have to be driven there.
I have made several trips there, thanks to my friends, family and work.

I would like to go to Conclusions, but you have to jump, and I'm not too much on physical activity anymore.

I have also been in Doubt. That is a sad place to go, and I try not to visit there too often.

I've been in Flexible, but only when it was very important to stand firm.

Sometimes I'm in Capable, and I go there more often as I'm getting older.

One of my favourite places to be is in Suspense! It really gets the adrenalin flowing and pumps up the old heart! At my age I need all the stimuli I can get!

I may have been in Continent, and I don't remember what country I was in. It's an age thing.

Today is one of the many National Mental Health Days throughout the year. You can do your bit by remembering to send an e-mail to at least one unstable person. My job is done!

Life is too short for negative drama & petty things. So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
From one unstable person to another... I hope everyone is happy in your head - we're all doing pretty well in mine!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It is going to be a beautiful day here in central Indy with a high of 46 predicted for today. I don't know why but I just get this feeling that mother nature is making us think that this winter is going to be rather mild and then as soon as the Super Bowl comes to town we are going to get it. Well I am off to the grocery store. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone! I thought I'd try participating in this thread a bit this year. I joined last fall and I would pop in the countdown from time to time, but the thread moves so fast that posting felt a little intimidating, like jumping into a fast-moving river...

Anyway, tomorrow we celebrate Three Kings Day at our house! We started this when our girls were small as a way of staying connected to their father's Puerto Rican roots, and to extend the Christmas fun into January . On the night of the 5th they would each decorate a shoebox however they wished; then they would go outside and trim grass to put in the box as a snack for the kings's camels as they passed by and left their gifts. The boxes were left under the (still decorated) Christmas tree. On the morning of the 6th they would awake to find the grass was gone from the boxes, and they were now filled with small wrapped gifts. Because it all has to fit in the shoebox it has always just been small stocking-stuffer type gifts, but they enjoy these little trinkets so much more on the 6th than they do on the 25th when they can be overlooked in favor of larger, more exciting gifts. Then their father reminisces with them about about his childhood Christmas celebrations in Puerto Rico, where in those days all the children received their gifts on Jan. 6.

Later in the day all the Christmas decorations are lovingly packed away for another year, and dinner will include a special dessert such as a Rosca de Reyes or a flan.

Does anyone else here celebrate Three Kings Day/Epiphany?

Good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone is doing great today :tree:
I've been in a bit of a posting slump here lately, hoping to catch up more today.

Why is it only Thursday! Is it just me or is this week dragging on way to slowly? This week seriously feels like the movie "Groundhog Day" I think my calendar is broken! :cheesy:

Well, off to go on my coffee fueled posting spree here, hope everyone has a great day! :tree:

Priceless!!!!

Priceless!!!! I know I've been to a few of these places myself - I seem be in Sane a lot these days!!!! HA, HA, HA... I sure wish they would put in an airport... LOVE IT!!!!!

GBL!!! OMG I am so glad you took the plunge into this fast river!!! I thought I was the only one who did something like this!!!

I love the fact you leave grass in a shoe box... My Nana and now I leave it at the front door, not a shoe box but a wooden one, decorated as well. How special you have made this for your family. Although we get the tradition from our European roots. It is a blessed day and we "exchange" a gift of the Kings. Now my husband and I get a special Baby Jesus Ornament or something of that nature. The neighbors children over the last two years have gotten into it and love to see that the meal was eaten.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I always felt this helped with the blues at Christmas as well.

For years my mother would give my daughters a Three Kings ornament each year in honor of the day - they each have a really lovely themed ornament collection now! And you're so right about helping with the blues, because this gives us all something else to look forward to. :-D

Rental...under an assumed name of JayIsh!

I got one of those photo tickets from the City of Beverly Hills once...$165 for running a red light at 7:00am on New Years Day...And I had gone to bed early the night before and had to take my then girlfriend who later became my wife, to the airport...Driving home I must have never seen the red light, yet there I was, plain as day, driving right though it...8-)

I am originally from Gaston County right across the border from York.
Me too. I grew up in west Gastonia. My parents and several other family members still live there. My brother, son, and I always walk through McAdenville too see the lights when we go back for Christmas.
