This is for a farewell party at the church my brother attends, one of their pastors is leaving. A packing crate filling up with some of their things to ship to the new house.

this severe weather that is going through some areas in the States is now headed into my area, we are expecting thunderstorms and high winds tonight

good evening ya'll! been a bit lazy today w/ hubby. we went out last night, had dinner then hit a few stores. i told daughter we were going "towel shopping" & she laughed & said we didn't know how to date. i explained to her things are a little different after marriage, kids, etc. & that we don't mind doing stuff like that on "a date". anyhoo the rain has passed & the sun is actually trying to peak through before night here.
shellie & sugar i was thinking about dawg the other day & sent him a message but never heard back. brandi was to go back to work if ya'll remember so i'm thinking their probably really busy w/ the baby & all the other daily stuff. i certainly hope nothing is wrong.

I am sorry to hear about the sudden passing of your dad, that has to be so hard on your family. At least now he is completely pain-free. I will keep you all in my prayers for the next couple of weeks.

I just went outside to warm up my car, it is so chilly out. This sounds silly but the air actually reminded me of Christmastime! It reminds me of the nights I would go to get in my car to drive around and look at the lights. Anyways, I am going to go stop at McDonald's and bring home some food and of course a shamrock shake. I am starving and all I had was a slice of pizza earlier. It has been a hectic day with a lot of cleaning, but I feel glad that it is done. I ordered myself a new bedspread - it is a Victorian style quilt and I love it. I got it for a great deal on Amazon since it is discontinued.

My car has been heating now for ten minutes or so, so I'm safe to go. Have a good evening, everyone!

Good morning, MMC! I am very happy that it is the weekend. I was hoping to do some shopping today or tomorrow, but my ankle/foot has been in too much pain. I can't see myself walking around the mall for more than an hour tops, and that's no fun. I'm not sure what I did, but I was lying in bed the night before last and I noticed that it killed me to twist my foot in any direction, and all of the pain was stemming from my ankle. I had to reach for a coffee mug this morning on a higher shelf and I was in so much pain on my tippy toes trying to grab it. I think it might be stemming from my achilles tendon. I sprained this ankle badly in the past playing powderpuff football, but I highly doubt that it could just be acting up. Regardless, I am happy to be on spring break. I'm going to take it easy this weekend and hopefully my ankle will be better by this week so I can shop, go to lunch, and go get my hair done.

It stormed here last night badly, but thankfully we did not get any tornadoes. I hope all of you who were experiencing bad weather stayed safe and that your homes/possessions did not sustain any damage! This is one thing that I truly hate with warmer temperatures and spring/summer - the bad storms. It is so windy out right now and I am really getting tired of it. We have had such high winds for almost a week now, and they are especially strong today. We wanted to grill out some steaks but that doesn't look like it's going to happen!

I was cleaning out a closet downstairs and I found this picture that I used to have in my room when I was younger. It is of two girls standing at a doorstep and one of them is knocking at the door. The girl knocking is holding flowers and the girl behind her is holding a wreath and Christmas presents. There is snow all around them and an adorable puppy behind the second girl. I liked it so much because it is Christmas-related, so I brought it up and hung it in my room! I remember taking it down years ago because I thought it was childish, but it really isn't at all. I love finding things that remind me of Christmas - especially in a random month like March!

Since I have no plans to go anywhere, I'll probably check back in a few times today. Have a great Saturday, everyone!

I will try my best! Powderpuff football is girls football minus the tackling plus flags. I grew up having an older brother so I always loved sports and I was really good at it. Except the field was so terrible and my foot got caught in a huge ditch and my ankle twisted completely to the side...I was in so much pain and it swelled up and turned purple! Not a fun time.

Work is done, day off tomorrow, I have my good days and bad days with the foot, and today was a good day, very little pain today. JP, who is only 6 years old, finished reading his first chapter book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, I am so proud of him, his reading level is so beyond first grade, and his thirst for knowledge is just like mine. He just feeds his mind with things he is interested in, after the tornado last June, instead of fearing them he got really into them, he knows so much about tornadoes, he can tell you about updrafts, downdrafts, scud, anything about them it is amazing. We congratulated him finishing the book by getting him the next in the series, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. I am so proud of him! He also went with the Cub Scouts today and built a birdhouse for the returning bluebirds. We also signed him up for swimming and baseball for the spring, he is going to be one busy boy.
