Christmas Countdown - 2012

good a.m. ya'll!! man have i missed ya'll!!
we had a really good time w/ my sis, bil, niece, & nephews, & it was great to see my mama since she's been down there about 3 weeks now. i'm used to seeing my mama every day.
my sister is doing good. she still has pain & discomfort but God is good...all the time & i know has healed her body. she is having problems w/ her other leg now. i'm hoping it's from the surgery but her doc has said it is burcitis. (wrong spelling?) my bil & niece have been so good to her & taking such good care of her & of course our mama. she is so blessed to have them w/ her as she recovers.
we were so busy there. we were trying to do things for her she can't do, like taking the cover off their pool, getting her screen porch cleaned & ready for summer, repotting plants that were root bound in their pots. i would walk back to my niece's house in the evening & would be so tired but i tried to keep up w/ the countdown. undrtakr told me when i posted some mountains & sun were in the background, not sure why but i wasn't on my computer, i was using my niece & nephew's. & om goodness, my niece & nephew are so precious. they were so kind to us, they even gave us their bed to sleep in. my 7 & 11 yr. old nephews are, unfortunately, getting older & into their own thing. ya' know it's not cool hanging w/ your aunt & uncle. physically i can't do alot of the things they're into, like sports. arthritis is a beast!!!! our diet didn't go too well there either. we indulged a bit too much but now we will get right back on track. oh how i miss them all!!!!
speaking of missing...i missed you guys alot. ya'll really do feel like family to me!
hubby & i are on vaca this week. we both have dental appt.s this morning. why is it, i always feel like a kid taking a test when i go to the dentist? i hope the weather is nice this week. hubby & i have alot we're wanting to get done around here.

Good evening,

Work was not busy customer wise, but I had plenty of projects to keep me busy. Easter was a great day, JP woke up at 4:30am, so sleep was a hot commodity yesterday, we went to bed at 1am the night before. We went to bed just after 8pm because we were so tired Dinner was yummy, the sirloin roast tasted great, I cooked it too long though, the turkey was great, as usual. My m-i-l makes the best turkey. The Easter Bunny was great to the kids, they loved everything.

Day off tomorrow, got to get the house ready for my sister and niece and nephew coming up from S.C.

P.S. Snowflake, we have posted about everyone getting together a few times, we have even selected a place to meet: Santa Claus, Indiana. I would love to meet everyone at some point, it would be a lot of fun.

That would be so much fun to meet you all in person & celebrate our love for CHRISTMAS together! Not that we don't already do that each & every day =)

Happy Tuesday! Hope today is good to you all.

While looking @ the threads yesterday, I came across one that got me smiling. It's something Bradmac said to his kids- that you can find a little Christmas just about anywhere if you look close enough...

So, while I was going through my desk at work, I came across my mini Charlie Brown Christmas snowglobe that I must've forgotten to take home after the season this year.
Guess where it is, now???
...back on my desk, displayed proudly!! I'm sure I'll get a few bahumbug comments, but that's ok. It'll be worth it. cheesy

Tradition was that the egg is in their bed when they
wake up Saturday morning.

Last year The Easter Bunny put them backyard in a nest he made

But this year the kids wanted me to hide them so they have to

I go in today for chemo "training" that lets me know everything I need to know. Then on Wednesday, I go to the hospital to get a chemo-port put in. The doctor also mentioned the CAT scan results and said there seems to be some activity in my thyroid so I have to get that checked out. He also informed me I DO have to have radiation after chemo because of the one and only lymph node that was cancerous. I am definitely NOT looking forward to any of this, but c'est la vie! I will try to get back on later after the appointments today. Have a great day, everyone!

When I got home yesterday afternoon, I found my son and a buddy of his jumping in the pool...it was in the 70's yesterday! I thought they were crazy, but they had been at track practice and were hot & tired. Their teeth chattered for a few minutes, but they acclimated quickly. I still theink they're crazy.

Glad to hear that you get some "training" and some idea of what to expect. It won't be easy, but at least you can somewhat prepare yourself for what's coming. I don't say it as often as everyone else, but I think of you often and wish you the best. Chemo is no picnic, but we'll get you through it.

I sat beside my best friend many times while she went through this. Some days were good, some not so good. We played a lot of zappa (a dice game). She had a double mastectomy, thyroid removed. She is now doing fine, full remission and out driving a transport truck.
