Hello everybody - you have no idea how many times I have thought about all of you & my little Christmas home here in the last month, but it has been -not a good month. One month ago today my brother passed away. He was mountain biking on St. Patty's Day when he had a heart attack & died instantly. The autopsy report is not back yet, but my brother has been talking to the coroner (my bro is a retired cop so he has all the "inside" information) March 17th was a gorgeous day in Ohio. I was having the greatest day - I went for a long walk in the morning, then took the dog for a walk, then I went to the lake & went for my 1st bike ride of the season. I got home & I was hanging clothes on the line thinking how it was one of them days that it is just so perfect it seems like something bad is going to happen to shatter the bubble. It was kind of an eerie feeling looking back. About an hour later I got a phone call from an investigater who was with my brothers wife, telling me what had happened.Life changes in an instant, and it will never be the same. We miss him so much!
I am so thankful for my big family so we can go through this together (though it stinks) & our wonderful friends & especially for nothing but wonderful memories of Mike. I honestly can not remember a bad memory of Mike. He was such a happy person, always making people smile & doing whatever he could do to make the world a better place. As his co-workers said "he made the sun shine brighter & our lives are better for having known him" And now my goal is to model my life by his - what an honor to be his sister!
Ok - sorry to be such a downer tonight. I wanted to let you know the reason I haven't been around. We really are doing alright coping, but it's one day at a time! Just keep smiling!
Now I am going to read some of your recent posts b/c I know you all will make me smile!![]()
I hope everyone is doing well!
I am so sorry for your loss Holiday.
