Welcome back! The decorations obviously have a good home and will be loved and cherished!! Are you going to display some of them year-round like he did? Have a great day!!! {{Christmas-A-Holic}}

I have always kept a few small things up year round like he did. I actually have those same decorations from his house set up right now and not put away. Like I mentioned before, they are small things, all his big decorations were stored away. Yes, I plan to keep them proudly displayed! =)

I would love to answer all posts, but my mouse died and using that thing they call a mouse on this lap top is a real pain!
I did however read everything.

Yes, the homemade caramel sauce is amazing, have not tasted better. I left is thinner as I wanted a sauce I could pour instead of just spread.

Taking mom to an appointment in Woodstock and then meeting some family at Swiss Chalet for lunch. My sister and hubby are coming trough on thier way from Detroit to Vermont. Only get to see them a couple of time a year, so this will be nice.

It's a tradition for us to get a bucket of KFC to eat from during the Derby coverage! It's the official chicken of the Kentucky Derby. They're one of the sponsors.

I am SO ready to be back here! It's been awhile!!!

I wanted to thank everyone for their kind wishes on here and in private messages I received regarding the passing of my uncle. I will miss my uncle and I will miss Christmas Eve over there, a tradition that has been going on for over 30 years. Our family has been so busy and still have some matters to settle with my uncle's house. It has been a sad time but we are a strong family and we will get through it!

The family gave me all my uncle's Christmas decorations. They know how much I love Christmas!

Time to move forward like my uncle would have wanted it!

I am ready to countdown the days until Christmas in July and Christmas! cheesy

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a another warm day here with some strong storms moving through. Then tomorrow we get back to the kind of temps that I like. I have some cleaning to do today and then hopefully I can get caught up on here. I don't how I got so busy at the end of last week but it seems like every time I sat down something else came up. Hopefully it won't be like that this week. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

It was a hot and busy weekend, but now I'm back at my desk in my air-conditioned office. Ahhhh. If I had been born before A/C, I'd have been the guy who invented it.

We went to my mom's house for lunch yesterday, and spent the afternoon playing cornhole in the backyard. Then, just before it was time to get home so my daughter could get to work on her weekend homework, mom mentioned that my son had accidentally broken a water line in the pecan orchard the last time he was there, and she couldn't water the trees. I took a look and determined the I need more fittings to repair it correctly, but my cousin and his wife wanted to "patch" it together. That ain't me. I finally had to "show my behind" as we say down here, and I told them I'd handle it the next day when I had the correct pipe fittings.

Now I feel bad because mom just called me to apologize for waiting so late to mention the water line. So I had to apologize for getting irritated with my cousin. Ah well. If you can't bless-out family, who can you bless-out? :wink:

I need to desperately catch up on posts, but first I wanted to ask to those who pray to please keep my friend and her mother in your thoughts and prayers. My friend lost her grandma less than a week ago and her father died this morning. I can only imagine what she and her mother are going through. Her mom lost her mother and her husband within days of one another. Thank you!

Now I am going to back-track and catch up. I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I placed 2 bets. Daddy Long legs to show and Take Charge Indy to win. Take Charge Indy looked like he had a shot going into the 3rd turn but Borel pulled him up in the home stretch and I just read that he has a bone chip in his left front leg that they will have to remove. It also said that Daddy Long Legs was being shipped back to Ireland this week.

I constantly wonder how I use to work outside all summer when I was younger. Now I hate to be outside when it gets above 80 degrees.
