Christmas Countdown - 2012

It was gorgeous over in Europe, not too hot, a bit of rain early in the week but how bad can it be to be rained on in France!!!

I took a cruise to Mexico some years ago that left out of Long Beach California and found the coast to be absolutely beautiful! Some of the ports were very nice too but the poverty of Mexico is striking...Encinada in particular was tough to see some areas...But it is a gorgeous country though!

We cruised out of Galveston and went to Cozumel and Progresso. I have looked into the one out of Long Beach and we might do that one sometime and glad to hear how scenic it is! We are only 5 hours from the port of Galveston so it's very convenient.

Our next cruise we are looking into will go to Jamaica. We might go in January or February, not sure yet. The first one I ever went on was out of Miami to Freeport and Nassau.

One of these days I want to go on an Alaskan Cruise! It would also be a dream of mine for an Antarctic or Arctic Cruise! I really need to see the North Pole where Santa lives. :wink: I have even requested brochures and DVD's on it. Very expensive, starting near $10,000 per person, but as the song goes, "It' Doesn't Cost a Dime to Dream"!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a beautiful day here in Central Indy with a high around 65 degrees. I think I'm going to run to hobby lobby today to check for christmas stuff and then I need to go to the nursery to get some green pepper plants. I have to babysit the next 2 days so hopefully I can find a few craft kits at hobby lobby to keep my niece's busy. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

My neighbor's granddaughter and her boyfriend leave tomorrow for Europe. They are flying in to Germany to see a couple of friends who are stationed there and then they are going to Rome, Barcelona, and Paris. At least that is there plan right now. It changes every couple of days and I think they are just going to play it by ear once they get there.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We didn't get to see the movie yesterday, so we're going tonight. I'm really looking forward to The Avengers! We went to Lowe's and Walmart last night, and finally to JC Penny to get me some much-needed jeans. Blue Levi's Straight-Leg 505 for me. Not those black one's Nancy wanted me to get!

I ran out to my mom's house this morning. Her house is at the back of her property down a long dirt driveway. She contracted with a paving company to pave it with reclaimed asphalt, so I wanted to check it out. It really is just crushed, old asphalt that's spread out and packed with a roller machine. They said to spray it with diesel fuel after they're done to re-activate the tar, and it will fuse the asphalt again. I hope it works!

Made - sorry to hear about your niece. How painful! Poor thing!

All this talk about cruising makes me think of our cruise, which was only 2 short months ago, but seems like a lifetime ago... We left from Ft. Lauderdale, went to Key West, Grand Caymen, & Ocho Rios Jamaica! It was a great time! Right now all those wonderful memories are blurred by the death of my brother which happened a week after we returned. Some day (hopefully sooner rather than later) I will put my cruise album together & re-live all them fun, fun memories!!

So going through the decorations I find all the cards you all sent last Christmas. what fun it has been to go through them all again.
I have sparkles on my fingers and a smile on my face.

Happy Pines Day, all!!!

She is defintely in a flair right now. Both of her knees are really swollen and she has started complaining of her elbow which never hurt her before. The doctor's started her on steroids last week to try to get it under control but so far they haven't really helped. The good news is she didn't react to the Orcenia and she will go for her second infusion next week.

Sorry to hear that, Made. I will keep her in my prayers!

I am having a " i wish it was november " day i really feel like getting my decor out

Think i was looking at pallets today and there was a lot of stuff i kept saying to myself that wood be great to keep to christmas..perfumes,dvd sets. things like that...i kept saying to my partner. i no its only may but that pallet wood be good for christmas . part of me was waiting on him saying to early... he did,nt he said think about it theres over 4 months gone and in the same time again the christmas stuff will all be in ...
Then i started thinking what am gonna get for the garden this year.. of course i had to go look at the gemmy site and see what airblown was coming out for this year..

busy this morning already...put fondant on 8 little cakes for the kids cake decorating class this afternoon. Going to drop them off at the church before I take my son to work.
Now have to finish putting everything together to tell the Christmas story to the kids. Have to dig up my little Christmas tree yet. The story is done as an acrostic using each letter of Christmas to tell the story.

I am looking forward to some fun at the pines after this busy day ends!

Which cruise line did you sail on? I hated Ocho Rios. The only highlight was climbing a waterfall. The locals absolutely stalked/harassed us to the point where we couldn't handle it anymore. On our first cruise there, my brother and I were lagging behind, and some guy told us to come sneak into the alley and follow him. Talk about creepy! People were practically trying to grab us to get our money. Grand Cayman is my absolute favorite island - beautiful. Key West is also gorgeous. My first cruise specifically brings back some sad memories because we took my grandma and she passed away the next summer. She had a blast so I try to think of the good times, but it's still very hard.

Another favorite place of mine (quite possibly tied with Grand Cayman) is St. Thomas. It is amazing! If you ever cruise again, be sure to pick one that stops there. I have been there three times and I always see the same man that puts lipstick, nail polish, and outfits on his goat (or donkey, can't remember) to get some money/have people take pics. Really pretty island with great shopping.

All of the talk makes me want to go on another cruise! I haven't been for a few years now. We haven't traveled since 2009 and we didn't cruise that year.

It's my first day back to work after over a month of health and anxiety issues. The first couple hours were pretty rough, but I think I'm doing better now. My boss has been very accommodating; he let me bring my ipod in and listen to it while I worked. That seems to keep me calmed down.
