Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good Morning, Christmas friends!!

How was your weekend?

Ours was nice, but went by way too fast!

We had a nice dinner w/ our friends Saturday night, tried alligator & catfish appetizers, surprisingly delicious. The place we went to has the best hush puppies, had some of those w/ honey butter. And that was only the beginning, came home very full, needless to say!

Yesterday we cleaned & cleaned...so done w/ cleaning! We should be ready for hubby's family to get here next weekend, just need to wash bedding for the guest room and do a few last minute things.

Was anyone able to view the solar eclipse?

It was so amazing!! And a little eerie too. The house got so dark, our back patio was dark, but the neighbors house behind us was all lit up- like it was on fire!! Hubby went out mountain biking to the top of a mountain for the viewing, I decided to stay home. Har & I had a perfect view from our bedroom, it was right to the west of us. Such a cool experience!! All of our neighbors were outside checking it out, with their homemade devices to view it. Surreal.

Well, not much going on this week. Work will be busy as usual.

I have a doctor appointment this morning w/ a new guy. I wanted to start seeing a different dermatologist for skin/mole screenings, and to get a second opinion. The Dr. that removed & biopsied my last ones was very nice, but not as thorough as I had hoped she would be. Found out she is a board certified surgeon who specializes in dermatology, but isn't a board certified dermatologist. That was a surprise. I need to do my homework better, I guess. Anyways, her office didn't bill my insurance properly- lots of miscodes, so I'm still dealing w/ that mess. Plus, she wants to do another surgery on one of them she thinks is growing back...yep, time for someone else to look...

That CAN'T be the Camp David in Maryland! I lived a few miles away from there when I was little, and when we saw a flock of helicopters flying over, we knew the President was going to Camp David. There was a big international meeting there this weekend.

no, it is not. We have friends who live near lake Wildwood, every year our whole family camps around the house. We visit, swim, the guys do target practice with the pellet guns, play games sit around the fire, even fireworks on special days.
Well, the guy who the place belongs to is named David.
so naturally it is now referred to as Camp David!

not this summer, with lack of work there really is no room for extras. We are going to camp David on the July 1st weekend to celebrate Canada day. (that is free camping for us so it works great)

That is so nice they do free camping that day. How cool!

Looks like Christmas is really in the air on the Countdown this morning, and some of those who have been away temporarily are returning. I'm currently in "patriotic" mode (Memorial Day through the Fourth of July is our time to blast John Philip Sousa through the car windows and watch summery movies), but after July Fourth will be shifting into Christmas in July and prep for Christmas 2012.

I'm already looking forward to the three-day weekend (we have tickets for a game at Fenway on Monday---cross your fingers for good weather!) and hoping for a short Friday. But what usually happens is, the office closes at 1 p.m. or so, but my group is usually stuck getting something done that some client wants first thing Tuesday, and we don't get out until a couple hours later. Oh, well!



Most mornings when the alarm goes off. cheesy Maybe you could write me a note and get me excused from work today so I can go home and do like you today! It's gray and damp here, too.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It is going to be cooler here today in central Indy with a high near 76 degree's. The cool down isn't going to last long though. We will be close to 90 on Wednesday. This morning I need to run to home depot. Something got into my garden and broke all of my tomato and green pepper plants. So I'm off to buy more so I can get them replanted before it warms up again on Wednesday. Then I bet you can't guess what I have to do this afternoon. That's right!!!!! I have to babysit. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bummer about your garden plants! I hope you remembered to buy rabbit fencing, too. We have a lot of cats so that pretty much keeps most animals out of our garden, except, of course, for the cats cheesy The forecast keeps changing here. Last I heard, 90 is going to hit on Friday now instead of on Thursday. Stay cool and watch the skies, Made! Have fun babysitting, too!!!

Good morning! I haven't posted in almost a week and don't have time to read anything on here right now. I have been busy with a project at church, family time and still going to my uncle's house to sort through things.

Hi, Snowflake! I hope and pray your new doctor is what you are looking for and that your appointment is all good news! I would like to have seen the eclipse, but we couldn't see it from here. There are some great pictures on the net, but nothing compares to actually viewing it live. I bet it was something! Have a great day!!!

The weekend can't come soon enough for me. It's supposed to be warm and mostly sunny, and (unless I'm forgetting) there aren't any "have-to's" planned. It hasn't been an especially bad week, I think I'm just run down by the daily grind. I've been saving my vacation days for our trip in June and the convention in July (plus two or three days in December), so I haven't had any time off since December (except for weekends and holidays, of course) except a couple days when I was out sick. I'd love to have a day or two off to be lazy in, but my vacation days are all spoken for.

Just wanted to stop in and wish you all a good day. Over here in NYC it is one of the prettiest days, blue, blue sky, sun glistening off the Hudson. Goodness some mornings can just take your breath away. Funny thing is on Saturday, it was just like today and we hiked the AT up Bear Mountain, which at the tower on one spot you can see the NYC skyline (in the very distances), but we watched the Hawks in the morning just "floating" over the Hudson looking for a late breakfast.

Last night I was in the mood for Christmas no real reason just a craving for it so I made some of my Christmas Finger Deserts YUMMMY!!! I even used some Santa cupcake holders, HOW cute!!! Just put me in a great frame of mind.

Happy Friday to you all!!

What's your plans for the weekend?

We are taking our friends out to celebrate their anniversary, to a Louisiana French Creole & Cajun restaurant tomorrow night. It's a really great place, and fun atmosphere.

Then, on Sunday, we need to clean, clean, clean the house!! Hubby's family is coming out from the midwest next weekend, and this is our only time to get it accomplished together. Hopefully it'll go by fast!

If we have any extra time, we'll grill out & then take Harlowe for a nice long walk =)

I got my Mr. Christmas clock yesterday. It's lovely!!
I was worried after reading over 100+ reviews on QVC, lots of people have problems after they receive them- things shift in shipping, etc. I was no exception, but those reviews actually helped me solve the problem (after a couple of frustrating hours), and now everything is working just fine!! Yay!! I was so happy!
The music & chimes are beautiful, and the dancers- wonderful. The little fireplace & Christmas tree are so cute, too, and light up so pretty. I hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Well, better get back to work. Breaktime is just about up.

Well. It's official I AM THE BONE HEAD QUEEN OF 2012. On second thought, let's make that the BONE HEAD EMPRESS. I WASHED my IPOD by accident today. Thanks to Made who has been giving me tips on Facebook it is now resting in a containing sumberged in Uncle Ben's white rice, uncooked of course. I don't know if it will work, and I know this sounds really stupid, but PLEASE PRAY THAT IT COMES BACK....The reason I am so desperate is that there were videos of Ivy on it :sad:

I'm sorry to hear about that. I found your post very interesting, un-cooked rice??? It seems like my kids are either washing their I-phone, cell phone, etc...all the time. My daughter even dropped her cellphone (I call them text phones, LOL) in the toilet not that long ago, (but she swears that she wasn't texting while sitting there), "she would probaly just be besides herself, if she knew I was telling this to everyone ....." I will have to keep this little tip in the back of my mind if something like this happens again.... Thank you! PS I hope your IPOD comes out of the wash ok... At least it will be clean...:-D

I"m not sure if this was for me or not haha...lol, but DH and EA actually planted the flowers for me...so sweet, right...since I was sick. He loves to do that anyway. He used to have a landscaping business back in his hometown, so he loves doing those kind of things anyway. I really appreciated it.

It has been a little while since I was here I think. I am so tired tonight that I didn't really read all the posts.......I am just hoping all are well.

Not much going on here and that's a good thing I think. I am settling down to watch Harry Potter And The Prisoner of Azkaban....One of my favorite "Harry" movies.....Okay. I confess, I have a thing for Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) !! But I love all the Harry movies and books also !! Still looking at pictures and vidoes on my iPod of Ivy and crying.... Whoever would think a little 12 pound pup could leave this big of an impact ?? I just hope she is well now...
