Your love for your daughter is so beautiful & touching. I can hear how proud you are by reading your words. What a great Dad you are!!
Congratulations to her on her graduation!!
Does she know what she wants to do next?
I've been living away from my parents for 10 years now, and we talk at least 3 times a week, and see each other 2-3 times a year. And that's still not enough =)
Thank you so much, for your thoughts and support. I'm glad hear that you still keep in touch and have a strong relationship with your parents.
Well, she's going away this fall to college (about an hour away from here), which will be the first time that she has been away on her own and it will also be a major change for me as well, with her not being her. I told her I was going to get a web cam installed on my PC/ her laptop so that I can see her at times when she's not at home.
That's nice that she'll still be pretty close by!
I think the webcam idea is a great idea. Our in-laws bought us one because they wanted to Skype- so all of our family went out & bought them so we can actually see each other every once in awhile :-D We love it!!
Remember that tire swing commercial where they used to say on it "Life comes at you fast", (or something like that), well boy does it ever. I feel like one minute she's was running around the house on her hands and knees "whinning like a pony" and then next moment, I look, she's heading off to college....Where did the last 17 years go????
If anyone has any children at home, spend as much time with them as you can (especially all the dads), treasure every moment with them as you can because before you know it, one day you'll turn around and they will no longer be little anymore....I'm glad that I was there....
