Christmas Countdown - 2012

Just a quick note before I lie down to rest. Dinner is in the crockpot: pork roast marinated in spiced brandy and herb, potatoes, corn, carrots, onions, and for dessert, Cajun peach cobbler. Someone will have to come up to get the Lear (Anne???) to pick up anyone who wants to be here for dinner right around 6 p.m. Tomorrow, I will pull the leftover pork for sliders with cole slaw and onions. Made and CAH, I hate to ask, but will you do the dishes? I am already beat, and it is only 9:30 in the morning! Have a great day, everyone. I will try to get on later.

Just got in from swimming with my friend and our daughters! Had a great time again, the girls were really well behaved! Need to call into town later to pick up afew bits for my eldest daughter who is going away on a residential trip with school in a couple of week!

Really fancy getting curled up on the sofa later with a hot chocolate and a xma movie! been feeling really xmassy since we passed the halfway mark!!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!! The heat wave is going to start creeping it's way into central Indy today with a high of 92 predicted for this afternoon. Today is free movie day so I'm getting ready to head out and pick up my niece's here shortly. Today is the smurf's. I also have some laundry to do this afternoon before the real heat hits tomorrow. Oh I found a pop called Mountain Dew Voltage. This tastes exactly like pepsi blue. Makes me excited! lol. I get excited when I find a new pop. Doesn't take much eh? haha. I need the pines tonight. My work told me I'm not working monday. I wanted the extra money and they didn't even give me a chance to work it. Sheesh! Its time off but the extra money would be nice. Not much new with us. Wife and I spent last night watching the tv show on dvd Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Love that show. Well I am at work so I better get back to it! Have a wonderful day everyone and see you at the pines! Ill try not to eat all the candy canes on you all! *crunch crunch crunch!*

i'm trying not to sound ?braggish?, but my hubby received an award @ work last week. it seems he has implemented some new programs there that have/will improve the work place w/ less tool loss, accountability, & new software. i am extremely proud of him! he does work very hard & i'm so happy to see him finally be recognized for it. his award was 100 shares of their stock, very appreciated.

That's awesome, merry! I see why you're so proud! A big Congratulations to him!!!!!!

all this talk of Christmas had me super excited yesterday @ work. you're not gonna believe what colors boss decided to go w/ this year after going to the retail show in Atlanta? just guess?.........
garnet (burgandy), BLACK, & white! i'm all for our Carolina Gamecocks but on a tree? she assured me it's not got anything to do w/ the Gamecocks (especially since she's a Clemson fan), it's just really nice the way the show had it set up. i just can't get my head around BLACK on a Christmas tree. i don't know, we'll see! the theme for the big display window is peppermint candy which i do think will be nice. we have several different trees throughout the shop & it's up to me to decide themes for the rest. this part of my job....I LOVE!
i hope everybody stays cool, safe, & happy today! after all, it's Pines day, right? bye now!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I have a headache. I've had it for a couple days now. Neither Tylenol nor Aleve can...alleviate the pain. Oh well. I'll get over it.

We had burgers from Steak -n- Shake last night. It was pretty good. I had their ultimate burger, which was loaded with cheese, bacon, etc. and a fried egg on top! And I wonder why I have a headache.

I watched It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, and A Charlie Brown Christmas last night. I couldn't watch just one! Needed some smiles, and that did the trick.

Tomorrow is Harlowe's 4th Birthday! Time sure flies. I'm going to head over to Petsmart & Barking Dogs bakery today for her presents =] We'll have the neighbor dogs over, and a little celebration. Should be fun :smile:

Well, better get moving. Lots to do today to catch up @ work.

Wish is still in the hospital. He is on MASSIVE doses of a water pill to try and diurese him and get rid of the pulmonary edema. Dr. said yesterday he had not seen a lot of improvement, though. He was going to try another diuretic to see if it helped more......Keep your fingers and toes and everything that you can crossed.......

I hope Wish is doing well now!

I usually don't get to do anything Christmassy on the 25th, but I had a treat this month! I had ordered Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas & a Yule Log DVD. Both came yesterday, so I watched them last night! DD & I covered up with an afghan & watched Mickey. I just put in the fireplace DVD to see what it looked like. It was very nice. You have three choices: crackling fire, holiday music, or crackling fire & holiday music. Loved it!

I have been wanting that DVD! I have done a little search for it but I want the original one with the nostalgic Christmas music on it. I haven't found it yet but haven't looked for it real well either. I did record it onto VHS several years back but want the DVD. I gotta get searching! Thanks for the reminder!

I used to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer all the time - love that show! Bummer about not working on Monday, but now you have time to watch a Christmas movie or two cheesy

last year i got in some dressed trees as they call them over here. the tree with all the baudles and things and there was some that was black and white and silver mixture for the tree and it did not look that bad and they all sold . no accounting for taste

I have been wanting that DVD! I have done a little search for it but I want the original one with the nostalgic Christmas music on it. I haven't found it yet but haven't looked for it real well either. I did record it onto VHS several years back but want the DVD. I gotta get searching! Thanks for the reminder!

I enjoy putting a fireplace DVD on the TV and then playing my favorite Christmas records or Christmas OTR shows instead of the programmed music. A customized fireplace experience!

hey y'all!
well we got my son a car today. was just stopping in to look @ one &...JACKPOT! it's a 2000 Honda Accord coupe, we really lucked up, power everything, 4 cylinder-for good gas mileage, sunroof, spoiler, & he loves it! the car dealer knows my daddy & i think that helped get a better deal. my daughter will be taking over his old one, a 1996 chevy blazer. she won't be driving to school or anything & won't be getting her license for ATLEAST a year.....anyhoo

winding down for the night. i'm kind'a tired from all that this afternoon. think i'll go chat it up w/ hubby.
