Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good evening,

Long day here, we went to a cookout and let the kids play until exhaustion took over, for them and us. I actually played my Wii for the first time in 6 months today, I haven't played it since healing from my foot injury back in February. Back to work tomorrow, then day off on Tuesday. School starts next week up here, my wife is looking forward to going back to class, she keeps saying dealing with 30 kids in her classroom is easier than dealing with our two. cheesy I can see that being home with them everyday since June.

I'm hungry for something spicy, I'll see what I have.

Had a great time on the chat last night, we should do that again soon.

Good evening Christmas family


A pretty nice weekend, getting on the cool side at times which was fabulous !! It is starting to go down into the 50s on a regular basis here at night so I am hoping it will not be long until it is cooler in the day. September tends to be a bit warm but despite the forcast I am hoping that Fall is NORMAL this year.

I think I am going to finish Watching A Christmas Carol (1951 version, Alastair Sim, Patrick Macnee) because there is just nothing I find interesting on TV.

Still not used to being away from the other company I was with. I keep having a knee jerk reaction when I think of work tomorrow of anxiety because part of me still thinks I am going to be stuck typing til 9:00 p.m. What a terrible, terrible shift. And to not be flexible enough to offer any compromise, well I just don't know what to say.

Anyway, I am not there any longer. The first part of September is when I put my Halloween/Fall decorations out.....I have a ton of stuff I put on the mantle and a cool fiberoptic Jack O' Lantern and some other stuff I put on the entertainment center. I can't wait !! Christween (My combination of Christmas and Halloween) starts in 13 days !!!

I LOVE Pinterest. You just sign up. Then you can go to the different categories click on the category and find something you like. Then you click "Pin It" and it goes to your Pinterest page. Most of the recipes are "pictures" with the actual page of the recipe in the upper right corner of the picture. That leads you to the original recipe. So, you have all your recipes in one place. There are several categories. Go check it out! If I did not explain it very well, give a holler.

This sounds totally yummy!!!

Well I don't really have a recipe anymore but here's what I do.

I fill my crockpot full of diced tomato's. (about 15 cups)

Sautee a large onion and 2 bell pepper's and dump them in

Dice up 4 cloves of roasted garlic and put it in

Then I add around 3 tbps of italian seasoning, 1/4 cup of sugar, Salt and Pepper

Cook on high 6 hours and then let cool

Freeze in 3 cup servings.

Then when I use it, I add a little tomato paste to thicken it up.

It's been a nice & relaxing one for us. We went out for Mexican food last night, watched movies, went for a morning bike ride, and I did some online shopping. I bought a Halloween village piece that reminded me of my best friend, who got me into Fall, Halloween, and Christmas vintage decor. The piece has witches riding on their brooms, really cute & fun!

We just grilled some steaks, I had a Chicago rub on mine, and Adrian had a Montreal one. Very tasty. We also had some four cheese mashed potatoes, and green beans. I am stuffed..

Harlowe is going to play w/ the neighbor dog in a little bit, it's still pretty hot here, about 103 :-? Hope she realizes how much I love her! lol

Then, later on, we'll watch America's Funniest Home Videos. If someone had told us 10 years ago how much we'd enjoy watching that show together, I would have thought they were crazy!

Just think about all of those football games, Basketball games, and Baseball games that you get to go to. Plus all of the other extracurricular activites you get to help out with!!
