And the Mr is working, and wont be home before Saturday...

So my daughter is now picking up Pizza for us...
I did not feel for cooking for six children today.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! We start warming back up today with a high of 85 and it looks like 90's by the weekend. I was really kind of enjoying the last 12 days of below normal temperature's but I figured it wouldn't last. I have a few errands to run this afternoon and then I have to go to the funeral home tonight. One of my old neighbors died over the weekend. She had been going down hill pretty fast since 2 of her daughters died a few years ago. So it's not much of a surprise. She was also 90 so she had a pretty good life. Well I'm off to the store. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't here yesterday because it was my daughters first day at college. We packed her up and spent the day with her yesterday getting her set up in a dorm. Everything was fine until it was time to say goodbye, mannn, when I huged and kissed her and started to walk away, it hit me hard, like someone took a knife and cut out my heart.... It took all my strength, to hold back my emotions, my feeling and my tears....

She's the baby, and this is the very first time she has ever been away from us/ home. My wife was a mess, and still is. No matter what, as a parent, It's soooo hard to face reality and to let goooo! After I left, later on, she sent me a text message , thanking me for everything and she said she loved me and missed me.... That about did me in....and, is still getting to me, even as I type this!

I do realize that you have to let go a bit, but wow, I'm struggling here...

This was my cousin's first week of school as a college freshman. She contacted her mom today and told her that she has been crying nonstop since this morning because she misses home and family so much. I feel so awful! She thought that she was going to love the freedom of being away but she hates it. I've known a few people that wanted to be on their own but ended up changing colleges so they could live at home. I wish there was something I could do!

The really good thing about this is that she is only an hour away from home; of course the bad part is that she's away from home. There are alot of good chances that she will be home on holidays and possibly some long weekends and we can always ride up there to spend time with her.

It's like deja-vu; the dropping them off at pre-k or kindergarten on their very first day at school...

Thank you jennifer91! I do realize inside, that it's a hard thing on both of us but I also know that in time, as my daughter gets to become familiar with the people there, other students, classes, schedules, and we become used to the seperation a bit, it should become another normal for the next 4 years (will see).... I hope that my thoughts here will occour with your cousin as well.

I think that I was not as prepaired as I thought I was (as an older parent), for just how hard it is to leave your teenager some place and that your not there to protect them and be with them, its not having that feeling that you know that they are home safe and sound every night......as a father does for his little girl....

home again, all her stuff in the living room, hopefully all upstairs by the time I get home from work!

Tomorrow is my nieces wedding. I have to bring a cheese cake, just have to figure out how to keep it chilled in a hot van until the reception. The wedding is on a beach about 15 min from where the reception will be held.
Never mind, just figured it out, I can put the electric cooler on its side and it fits quite nicely that way!

Have to leave for work in 1/2 hour, I close the place up tonight.

Hello! It's been nearly a week since I have been on. I hope to have more time next week to spend time on the Countdown.

I have been watching a lot of Christmas movies and cartoons with the kids this week. It's been fun!

It appears that none of their big christmas event's this year are actually going to be held on the 25th of the month.

I finally have a day off from work and babysitting tomorrow. I won't be missing it at all!

Special request tonight, please keep a friend of ours and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Both her parents drowned over the weekend trying to rescue their puppy. Her father had an aneurysm while swimming and her mother drowned trying to rescue him. I am so heartbroken for the whole family.

That is so sad ~ my prayers are on the way, xmas!

Surgery for me tomorrow. I went to the doctor yesterday, he had a cancellation, and I am in!!!I should be home by early afternoon! Then I will get caught up on MMC.

Anyone heard from CAH? I know she wasn't feeling well & the news is going on about the West Nile Virus in Texas. I've been thinking about her & hope she's okay.

I have been wondering the same thing. I hope all is well with her!

Thanks for asking! Sorry, I should have tried to pop in for a second to at least tell everyone I am okay especially with this virus going around. I have not been feeling well but it's not from the West Nile Virus. They have been doing a lot of aerial spraying around here. I have heard them going over my house twice this week.

Next week things should slow down a lot since 2 of my grandchildren will go back to school. I will just have my granddaughter in the morning, the other 2 will be over after school.

Tomorrow, thanks for the reminder Made, QVC!!!!! It's going to be a great day!!! :celebrate:
