:merry:

Okay, so I click the "New Posts" button on the top and it says that there are no new posts. YEAH RIGHT!!!! I didn't believe that for a moment! Hoping all are having a good morning and have a great day!

Wishing peace for you right this very minute!!!

Can I vent ? And ask for prayers?

I am going to the doctor tomorrow about a pain in my right leg ... I think it may be because I am all lop sided from carrying Finley on my opposite hip - in fact I had something similar when I lugged Will around ... BUT I am worried its something else... I was reading an article totally unrelated at work .. Talking about children's hospitals ... A d one of those kids had a type of cancer that affects nerve endings ... Anyways one of the songs was an ongoing leg pain

GAH... I can't stop thinking the worse now :(

Finally!

I quoted quite a few of you about half hour ago, went to reply and it shut down on me and I could not get back on. I also didn't finish reading everything! I don't have time to go back and do it all over again. For those who are ill or having hard times, prayers to you! Those who have fun planned, have a great time!

Have a great day everyone! :merry:

Carl thought the first minute of this video was so funny that he has been playing it on a loop tonight

Thank you for posting this! I missed it when it was broadcast.

We just returned from Redding where the smoke is so heavy from the fires. Many people were wearing those face masks like surgeons wear. I can understand why. My eyes were red, watery, and itchy within minutes of getting out of the car. I did not have a good visit with the plastic surgeon today. I had called him on Monday to renew my prescription for pain meds. I had been taking two Norco 10-325 every 4 to six hours. Before surgery, I was able to hold out for the six hours if I made myself. After surgery, his prescription was made for one 10-325 every 4 to six hours. That did not even get close to the pain, so I just went back to the prescription that worked far better than that. I called on Monday for a refill and he changed the prescription to ONE 5-325 every six hours. Today I told him I was still in tremendous pain (I still had the drainage tubes in and could hardly move without experiencing painful spasms from the many, many stitches. His prescription was a joke. I told him I wanted enough pain meds to get to the point of no pain and then to continue on the lowest dose in order to taper off rather than experience withdrawals. His reason for changing it to the lowest dose possible was that he said I should not really be in any pain. I have stitches and swelling from the middle of the front of my chest to the middle of my right shoulder blade on the right and from the middle of the front of my chest to almost the middle of my left shoulder blade. You would not believe the continuous bruise that is on my right side under my breast, running from the middle front to the middle back. He personally told me he does not believe in radiation, so I am wondering if that has colored his judgment. In addition, I told him I would NOT be completing the reconstruction with implants, that I would just go flat-chested! I came close to asking him to allow me to give him a bilatertal mastectomy and prescribe the minimum amount of pain meds available! Somehow, I don't think that would go over very well. Sorry for my pain-ridden rant!!!

Some doctors JUST DON'T GET IT. I hope you can find some sort of pain relief. Jeez, doctors are supposed to RELIEVE suffering, not promote it.

I'm so sorry you have to deal with such pain! I've read many articles that say that there's no reason people should be in any pain in this day and age. But many doctors seem to think they know exactly how EVERYBODY should feel at a certain point. Not everyone is the same!!!

Good evening,

I am through dealing with the bosses at work, I will just say I have contacted the state about possible law violations. Back there first thing in the a.m. which should be "fun." Looking forward to my weekend off big time now. JP's first day of school went well.

I need some Christmas.

Good night all!

This sounds serious ... pls keep us posted. Sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done.

WHo set up croquet in the back lot?

YABBA!

If it's there next week, count me in. Dibs on the green ball!

Can I vent ? And ask for prayers?

I know it's difficult to get your mind off the track that the article set you on, but try. There are tons of causes for leg pain that AREN'T cancer-related or dangerous, like a twisted back or a pinched nerve. Let the doctor tell you what the problem is, and go from there. Pls let us know.

My prayers are on the way.

good morning everyone. waiting on the dr.'s office to open so i can get daughter an appt. for today. she's got swelling in her throat now.

Praying that she feels better soon

Hey, I was just getting ready to tell them that you said hi!!!

Thursday hello! The weather is just too beautiful to spend in the office today, but I can't do anything about it. It's sunny and comfortably warm outside, but FREEZING in here. The air conditioning broke down for a few hours Tuesday, and once it was up and running again yesterday morning they set the thermostat super-low because everyone was complaining of the heat. (Take it from me, it wasn't THAT hot. I never broke a sweat.) So I'm huddled up here with a tiny space heater and a hot beverage, looking wistfully out the window at the warm sunshine. Well, later in the morning the sun should cross my desk, and it should still be light enough to enjoy the weather when I get out of here at the end of the day! Hope your day will be as beautiful and comfortable as the weather here.

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's pretty nice out here this morning but we are headed to 90 degree's later today. I have mentioned that I'm tired of the heat. I haven't felt that great the last couple of days but I'm finally starting to feel better today. So hopefully I can get some stuff done today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Christmasstar, My name is Tammy and I am mostly a lurker here at MMC . I read MMC everyday, actually...multiple times a day but rarely post. Anyway, I saw your post about burning your foot and just wanted to let you know that I am a registered nurse and we use.....don't laugh....Preperation H for burns instead of Silvadene Cream. It works great. If you burn yourself in the future...I hope you don't, but if you do , if you will apply the Prep. H as soon as possible, most of the time, it won't blister up and heals really quickly. It certainly wouldn't hurt to use it now, unless you're allergic to it, but it works best if used immediately. Just wanted to let you know that this is what we did for our patients when I worked at our medical clinic. Of course, if it is a severe burn or gets infected...see your Dr and follow his orders. Hope it heals quickly and doesn't hinder any thoughts of Christmas! Have a great day!!

Good Morning, Friends.

Here we are once again on the Eve of the Eve.
(Seems like we were here at this point just last week, weren't we?.)

Regardless, tomorrow is Weekend Eve and today we have this:
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117
Now under 2 1/2 weeks left until that 100 day Christmas Day Window opens on a double-double digit count.
Then won't things really start to move fast.
Can't wait! (And neither can Carl. He was so excited at the 'Pines last night he started leaking coffee again.)

Warm and humid here yesterday but no rain.
We stand at 70 degrees, currently.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Folks.
See you here tomorrow morning, then we are off to the coast for 3 days!

Holy! 75 days LEFT?

Welcome to the countdown thread! Laikengrace! Always nice to see new posters!

Thank you Undrtakr, I'm always here...just quietly reading all the wonderful Christmas thoughts from you guys. I Truly adore the Christmas season and unfortunately have no one around here that "gets it" like everyone on here does. I love the countdown everyday but it also makes me sad , because once the season gets here..it is gone so quickly that you hardly know it was ever here :( I would love it if the Christmas season lasted about 4 or 5 months....and no I don't think I would ever get tired of it :)
:merry:

What a crock!!! I hope your doc figures something out to take away your pain, or I hope you find a doctor who will! Regardless - he is not acting like a good doctor!!! Sorry you are going through this! Praying for you! :(

I hope everything turns out fine. There ARE A LOT of reasons for leg pain, including carrying Finley around! I get pain in my leg sometimes just from walking 4 miles every day! Keeping you in my prayers too.
