My parents still live in Gastonia. My brother, son, and I walk through McAdenville each year, kind of a family tradition.

My plans include driving an older friend (in her 80s) to Chico for her to visit with her daughter. My friend has macular degeneration and cannot drive. Another friend is going along. After we drop Margaret off, then Debra and I are going shopping (only for a little while) at Michael's and JoAnn's. Then I have to get home and get some assessments ready to copy!

I feel so much better. Even though the kids' behavior was not very good yesterday, I still had a good day at work and got lots of work done myself. Well, I got the work done after the students left after school. LOL!

Oh great! That's just lovely... Here we are, we have something thats nice, easy to use, friendly and does nothing to harm anyone or anything and some idiot(s) (please, excuse my passion/ frustration here) either created something (a progam, software, spam) or they themselves is trying to hurt/ disrupt a perfectly fantastic website that we have here... I wish we could turn that around on them and fry their system with some sort of 24th century technology; (right Brad? lol)

I've been swamped here at work, so I haven't had a chance to really check in this morning.

I went for another follow-up with the cardiologist yesterday (all is well), and while I was there he mentioned that St. Joseph's Hospital is planning another TV commercial and he recommended me for the commercial...LOL! He said they should be calling me soon. I assume it's because I'm younger than most of his heart attack patients. He's also still impressed that I'm a mayor. Haha!

Dang, now I gotta get my eyebrows plucked!

Just a few issues with friends well one friend. his brother has only a few months to live and he is so much me me me and he cant handle it. this time it cant be about him .

good a.m. y'all! i've been gone a couple days. i've been sick & had no energy to do much @ all. i'm getting better w/ the help of antibiotics but now hubby & son have it. this stuff is very contagious. my oldest hasn't gotten it yet. i think his meds, he's on for sarcodosis, has built his immunity up so i certainly hope he doesn't get it.

solice, pm me so i can friend you on fb & pinterest, ok? girly i hope you get rid of that illness soon.

headed back to work today. i've only worked a few hours all week. hubby & son are going to the doc today so i hope they've gotten there early enough that it won't be so bad on them.

Good Morning MMC!!!!! It's going to be a okay day here with a high near 80 degree's and some storms moving in late tonight. I finally broke down and bought the MP3 version of Michael Buble's Christmas cd last night. So my plan for today is crank it up while I do some work around the house. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When people ask me my favorite season I usually answer two ways. For those who are only engaging in small talk I tell them fall which was my grandfathers favorite time of year. The real answer isn't marked by the calendar as much as it is the weather. My favorite time of year begins when the first significant cold front swings through the area in September and removes the humidity. That usually happens in mid Sept. and this year it is happening here Sat. night. Waking up Sunday will put me into a great mood. Since I love Christmas and like January, my favorite time of year usually ends the second of the last week in Jan. when Christmas decorations are down, the annual family weekend trip to the mountains for fun in the snow ends and when my workload picks up & I am working later so there is very little free time to spend with my family in the evening before my little girls are down asleep.

Anyway, less than two days before the best time of the year for me begins

Or, how about a ballcap with a MMC logo with a Christmas scene behind the logo? The ballcap can be red and green and/or with LED lights built-in to the shirt or hat that will either just light up or even flash....He-He-He... I Love It....:yahoo:

Please, everyone who prays please, please, please pray for my uncle's dog. My uncle considers his two dogs his children. They just found out that his dog has cancer and he is only a few years old.

This is such a sad night - we truly need a miracle. He has been sick for a few weeks and they couldn't find out what was wrong. He won't eat unless someone feeds him and he won't even bark anymore.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Jennifer. Prayers & love going up for the sweet dog & your uncle.

Isn't Country Sampler fabulous? I just love their decorating ideas, pictures, and notes. There's a new one I'm going to try! I just need to purchase a decorative finnial, a pretty glass, and a small vignette. I'm thinking of buying some snowy glitter, too. You just use adhesive & attach the finnial to the bottom of the glass, and put your little vignette under the glass, and voila! A snow globe-dome-type display. I love the lodge look, so my finnial will probably be a pine tree or pine cone =] Throw in some snowy glitter & it's a winter scene!!

Btw, I'm not on Pinterest just yet, but Seawaters has got me thinking @ it! Can you send your info. to me for FB? I am there!

Good morning! Happy Friday everybody! Like many others, our temps are going down for the weekend! Supposed to have a high of 70º tomorrow & 72º on Sunday, but the # that gets me is the low for Sunday night....49...FORTY NINE!!! I'm not sure that I'm ready to see temps starting with the number 4 just yet!!! I want to enjoy the 50 somethings 1st! BUT I will drink my morning coffee & enjoy the brisk air!!!!

God blessed our family with a very nice holiday weekend at Myrtle Beach. It was hot and muggy but we cooled off in the ocean. My mom did well. She was able to take a couple of early morning walks on the beach.

Glad to hear you, your family, and especially your mom had such a wonderful time.

Btw, how was your birthday night?!

Thank you! My birthday night was really fun! We went out in convertibles (4 in my family have convertibles - 2 sisters/bil's & 1 brother/sil & us) to eat at a bbq place about an hour south of here. It was delicious, a beautiful night for a convertible ride (once we got through a rain shower) & we had lots of laughs. Our waiter/bartender was a hoot! A couple of our neighbors from the lake met us for a drink. It was definately a good night!

[Holiday]

Well a storm is rolling through right now. They were saying 50 mph winds, but I think (hope) the worst of it may have missed us. It got windy for a few minutes, we had a little thunder/lightening but now it's just raining. I have candles lit all over the house, just incase. So cozy....LOVE IT!!! (as long as the storms don't get too bad...they say more to come tonight!)

I found this on Pinterest today. I could just move right into this house/kitchen right now. LOVE IT!!!! Do you know how fun this would be to decorate for Christmas?!?! :grin:
