Wow so sad to see the news Andy Williams died today. But good thing on the news they did a melody of his Christmas music.

Has anybody heard any more about all the "doom and gloom" that is supposed to happen in 2012 ? I know the major part of it is not supposed to happen until December, which I most emphatically do not believe, but I thought there were other things predicted for earlier in the year.

The way I look at it, if it is meant to be we have no control over it, make the best of it. Turn your tree on, have your loved ones around you and go out singing Christmas songs. I learned after 9/11 not to fear things we have no control over, make the best of your life, enjoy the little things, and be a good person.

Now do I believe the Mayan calendar? Nope. cheesy

i haven't heard from meceka i do hope all is well w/ her.

i did speak w/ shelliegirl the other day & she is SUPER busy right now. she did assure me she is well & will get back soon.

hey y'all! very tired. had a meeting @ work. boss discussed how slow everything is & said she's even had to think about temporary lay offs. 20% decrease in sales again last month. this shop has been in business since 1946!!!!!!!!!!! there's been a steady decrease in sales for the last 4 years. as i was telling y'all yesterday our town is slowly drying up. we were a very large textile town back 10 years ago & the majority of the peeps in this town worked there. it was like 10 different textile plants. my daddy retired from there as did lots of people. anyhoo, you can guess where all the jobs went.... our unemployment rate is like 16% & it would be higher if it wasn't for most of the people running out of unemployment $. i think there's 1 other county in our state who is suffering worse than this 1.

@ work we are trying to figure out ways to keep going.........

I hope your store can find a way to turn things around. I hate to see "old" stores like this going away. So, so sad!!! Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers. There's so much nostalgia in those stores.

Good evening, Christmas family

I am so tired tonight but a good tired...not that exhaustion I used to get. I started back on my diet on Monday (Jenny Craig) and so far so good. I know this sounds stupid but My gut feeling says that all this problem with my foot (now BOTH feet) could be the result of how much fat and junk I have been consuming over the last several months. I mean my diet has not been balanced AT ALL !! So we shall see. I have 24 pounds to lose AGAIN........UGH. I hope I can do it.

I am doing one of the special posts this year (I think ??) and I don't mind telling you I am NERVOUS.. I have mine already written and I am just really scared that it is not quite good enough. But then nothing I do is EVER good enough to me.

I left a message for Meceka on her Facebook page. I really hope she is alright....

Wishbone has been breathing a little bit labored the last day or so and I am scared. I know I have had him longer than I imagined but I don't think there is ever enough time to be with them.....I hope he will be okay.

I am going to pop on A Christmas Carol on the DVR and watch it because it is really kind of chilly this evening and it won't be long until Christmas !!! I hope everyone is okay xo

Here's hoping wishbone is ok! Every time I walk in the door at home, I check out Busters eye to make sure there is nothing goofy going on with it. It still isn't right, but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, & it doesn't seem to bother him at all. So I'm hoping & praying through drops/medicine we can keep him comfortable...hopefully for a long time yet. I agree - I have had him longer than expected, but it's never enough time!!!

How neat that we are all watching A Christmas Carol sort of together even though they are different versions ! I am watching the 1951 black and white version starring Alastair Sim as Scrooge. I love those other two versions you mentioned too, though. The Muppets one is so great !!! and Happy Rudolph Day to you and Kim !!

I really thought about watching A Christmas Carol last night, but decided to wait just a bit yet. Darn...now I wish I would have!!! I just ordered Mickeyes Christmas Carol last week. Can't wait to get it! :grin: Last night I watched "Yes, Virginia" - I had never seen it before..very cute & I also watched The Nuttiest Nutcracker (wasn't crazy about that one...) on Netflix.

I get the real thing and then try my best to copy it. The competition is not until November 18, but it will take that much time to craft all the pieces and make it all look right. It all takes a great deal a patiece and willing to throw out something that is not looking right.
I also have to make a fairy tale wedding cake, I am going to do it for Sleeping beauty and her prince charming!

Lots of fall leaf ornaments and a free cup of apple cider at the door to wash down that first complimentary fired twinkie, complete with orange and brown tone "autumn" icing.

Good morning, MMC! How are you all today? Happy Hump Day & Happy Pines Day! Carl told me that he is in such a good mood because we're getting so close to the season, so pumpkin coffee for all tonight! And he told me he's working on a fried twinkie recipe filled with coffee cream? Hmmmm!

I am so bummed I will have to miss Home for the Holidays at 10 this morning on QVC. I will be in class taking a test, though, so I have no hope of catching any of it - boo!

It is a crummy day out! Cold, dreary, dark, and rainy. I don't mind the cooler temperatures so much, but I hate the days where I look outside and there is not one bit of sun. It looks like it should be about 7:30 PM out there!

I will talk to you all soon!! :]

Hi Everyone!

I'm sooo happy that it's finally my favorite season of the year--FALL!!! My slow-cooker is out and I can't wait to start cooking with it.

Unfortunately, I ate something that didn't sit right and every since last night, I've had an upset tummy and had to call in sick this morning. I really don't like doing that!! :-? Soooo....I'm in my pajamas trying to decide what movie I want to watch.

Anyway, my decorations have been out for a while and I really hope to make my first crockpot meal of the season this weekend.

Also, I heard/read about Andy Williams passing this morning. So sad! Like many of you, I always loved his rendition of "It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" at Christmastime. In fact, I'm listening/watching it on YouTube right now!

Someone really doesn't want to go to work today, of course that would be me! I stayed up way to late working on the CD's last night, I put over 100 more songs on my MP3 player last night. I will have do this all over again for my Christmas CD's, I can't wait to immerse myself in Christmas music all day, maybe next Tuesday.

Hey everyone! How are you? I am well, slowly feeling better. I went and saw the hospital nurse practioner Monday morning and she put me on a Z-pack. It's making me come out of this funk I've been in. Hopefully, it won't be too much longer.

Anyway, yesterday was a very busy day. The morning, after work didn't start out to great. I won't get into details. I just always count my blessings! The day got better and DH and took DS to the outlets and did some shopping. It felt very rushed, as it was past Pittsburgh, so it was about a 2 1/2 hour drive - we didn't get there until after 12:00 pm and we had to be back around 5:00 pm to be pick EA up at preschool. Oh well - at least we had fun and got some good bargains.

Last evening, I then took EA, just her and I, out to dinner and then we went to a local theatre to see a childs play. It was very cute and she loved it. She behaved very well too. At Christmastime, they are going to be having one about Santa's workshop, so DH and I are going to take her then too.

Today, I have to go into work and take my CPR class. It will last roughly 3 hours or so, then I can come home, get some things done, spend time with the kids and DH later on, and I have to go back to work tonight at 11. That wasn't the original plan, but I agreed to work because then I get time and half!

Well, off I go to read some of the Countdown. Life's been busy. I miss you guys. Praying for you all and hope all is well. Keeping smiling and God Bless. I've been thinking about all of you, your families, and your furbabies! Have a great day! cheesy

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to warm up here today with a high of 74 predicted and rain most of the day. I think my plan for today is to do some baking. I have all of these apples that I got the orchard and now I have to figure out what to do with them. I also need to run to the store and get some batteries. I've had my fall centerpiece from Bethlehem lights out for a couple of weeks now but I keep forgetting to get batteries for it. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy first official 'Pines Day of Fall! Carl has the 'Pines decorated beautifully. I don't know how the camel does it, but he has a knack for keeping us mesmerized! It's perfect. I must say, it feels great to be looking ahead at the next Milestone of 90% of the way to the Christmas Season. That homestretch is going to be special! And that's only in 11 Days? Wowzers!

Call it wishful thinking, but I'm wondering if there is a better way to celebrate 'Pines Day than the launch of the Christmas Blossoms thread?! I guess that we can only hope that "A Christmas To Remember" has officially opened its doors for the Season. No pressure, Crown. You know, I'm just real excited for this!

I still do not know if I am working tonight. Took Andrews shift for him on Sunday and he is supposed to take mine tonight, but have not heard from him yet. Oh well, I can use the hours so it does not matter to me either way.

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. A day off to watch movies will hopefully make you feel better!! :smile: I started my crock pot cooking a couple weeks ago. LOVE IT! Tonight we are having "Herbed Chicken" in the crock pot. Can't wait to try it...again...a new recipe!!! :grin:

I was so sad to hear that Andy Williams passed away on the news this morning. I think at lunch I will get out his Christmas cd & listen in his honor! :smile: RIP Andy!

Not much going on around here today. As I said in my last post - supper is in the crock pot, so no cooking for me tonight. I will probably get out the rest of my fall decorations either at lunch or after work. Still working on my SIL's afghan (and will be for awhile... : ) This work thing is interfering with things I need to get done at home!! :lol: (Just kidding...I'm thankful to have a job : ) Anyway...Happy Pines Day everybody!!
