Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good Monday morning everyone. Rainy day here. Temp was 57 when I left for work and expecting a high of 63. We needed the rain. After having a well go dry 5 years ago, I rarely complain when it rains.

We had a nice weekend. Spent most of Saturday in Pigeon Forge, Tn. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are both getting their Christmas lights up. Of course we had to visit 'The Incredible Christmas Place' again. Sunday we had 2 great services at Church and watched Braves baseball in between.

My son is a huge Chipper Jones fan. We watched/recorded the 3 game series between the Braves and Mets (Chipper Jones farewell weekend). Ethan is upset to see Jones retiring. He has been with the Braves my son's whole life. Losing your heroes is a sad part of growing up. I remember Willie Mays retiring in 1973 then 1979 saw John Wayne die and Roger Staubach retire.:-?

Good Morning MMC!!!! We are off to a cool start here in central Indy where we currently stand at 50 degree's on our way to a high of 64. I have to go pick up my youngest niece from preschool in about an hour. My sister and brother in law dropped her off on the way to the hospital. It looks like I may get out of a lot of the babysitting this week. My aunt still has 3 weeks of vacation to use up so I think she is going to take the rest of the week off to help out. Which works out since she only lives 2 blocks away from my sister. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

My sister's surgery is at 1pm.

My niece had been doing good up until this last week. She went in for an infusion last Monday and they always do blood work at the same time. Well the blood work showed decreased liver function. So they had to take her off of her anti inflammatory pills and cut way back on her methotrexate. So now she is really starting to hurt again.

I'm so sorry your family has to deal with all this pain. Sending prayers for them (and you!).

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I spent the day Saturday with my family...a first for me, lately! We took Elizabeth to Nutcracker practice, then we went out to eat, to Hobby Lobby & WalMart (got some Christmas pix!), and back home.

Yesterday afternoon, Jacob and I checked the StealthCam and got some good pix of a couple big bucks and a big bobcat. Cool!

Today I made fresh salsa with cilantro that was so fresh and fragrant. An aide at school had brought in lots of tomatoes and so had the cafeteria lady. I just love fresh, homegrown tomatoes. Tonight we are having hamburgers grilled outside. With those fresh tomatoes, I could eat just a tomato sandwich. Why are we grilling outside? Because it is still hot here! Can you tell by my whining that I do not like hot weather? LOL

The fresh salsa sounds amazing!! I love homegrown tomatoes.

I am sick of this heat, as well!! Ugh. Praying now that it's October, we start seeing some 80's, at least cheesy

Guess what? I drove across the state to go to my first ever Hobby Lobby store this weekend. WOW, that place was huge, it had everything under the sun in there. I got to say, I was totally impressed with that store. It was sort of a Michaels, Joanne Fabrics, AC Moore and Kirklands all rolled up into one store...

The wife loved the place and so did I.... I have to thank all of you, who were talkng about the place, here at MMC, that peaked my intrest... Thank you! We ended up buying some Halloween and Christmas decorations....

So glad Hobby Lobby was worth the drive!! I could just walk around in there all day long! Not sure if you signed up for their e-mail list, or not, but if you do, they send you 40% off coupons often! You can use them in store or online, and they just re-vamped their website & it's a bit more user friendly.

Well I'm going to call it a night. My sister has to have a hysterectomy tomorrow so it's going to be a long couple weeks of babysitting for me. So I'm going to need my rest.

Good morning everyone!

Happy October! At least a new month is some consolation to starting a new work week, isn't it? October (and Halloween) seems to be the only thing standing in the way of us and the Christmas Season. It's so close! Less than two weeks until exactly a month away from the Season, in fact.

It feels good to start a new week. We had an enjoyable games night on Friday and then visited Kim's friends on Saturday night. We hadn't seen them in a while. Yesterday, I was actually able to (fully) practice for the first time since the end of July. Two whole months! I still have a ways to go, however. I wasn't able to move like my normal self, but that will come with time. It should be a fun coupe weeks - having to re-gain my cardio, speed and lose a few extra pounds that I've put on over the time. I have three weeks to improve (before my next tournament), we'll see how well I can return to form!

The weather in Ottawa isn't bad. 14c and should reach about 20c today. Great for the first day of October! It is going to be one major difference from the first day of November, that's for sure! In regards to this week, we're supposed to be in the lower 20s (upper 60s) for much of the week. Not bad. A great way to head into Canadian Thanksgiving weekend!

Well, I'm off to search for a Christmas Countdown decoration. Kim and I have searched and can't find anything for our liking. I may have to check ebay, I guess. Send me a message if you know of any good ones!

I made it to lunch! how is everyone doing on this first monday in October??? I am getting through it pretty good. I am about to chow down on my lunch but wanted to take a quick peek into here. I am reading the fall foilage pages on weather.com....the north is just starting to peak with fall color,so I guess alot of places in Canada have peaked as well! Around here in the deep south I swear I can look at some trees and see them turning a little lighter...but my bradford pear trees are always last to turn in mid to late November...but those are the prettiest in my neck of the woods...anyways I better get to eating and back to work...have a great rest of the day friends!

Well went to garden centre and YES they had a load of christmas stuff out so i bought a big set of lights for my christmas tree 320 led. nice white ones.which had 25 % off and a orament
BUT was going round to pay and omg i saw this large reindeer so i had to go and find someone to ask the price. its was £550 but hell is so big and stunning so real like i looked round for the owner as i grew up with him to see his best price . but its a indoor one so it cant go outside~{ so am wondering is it worth it. as i wood not want to put it away and i wood not have room to keep it out all year as i have a fairly big one i keep out soooo am thinking !!!
Just went to friends for dinner he has a coffee shop well he texted me to say to come up and check his blood presure as he is having problems with it. think its the stress of running his own business no one realises how hard it can be.
The rest of the day am gonna chill have the fire lit so thats my day so far
hope your all enjoying your day so far. remember tomorrow is monday . and the 1st of oct lol

Hello Christmas friends! ^^ How are you all? I hope that very well. :] I have to admit I'm very surprised about the fact that it's October already. Time really flies, doesn't it?

I spent half of my day (around 5 hours) since I came back home from university translating the worlds I wrote down yesterday while reading. It took a lot of time to look every word's meaning up in the dictionary. I got some useful advice from Jennifer (jennifer91) how to remember new words. Thanks to her. I really appreciate the help. :] I'm going to buy a pack of plane paper tomorrow and start making index cards for all unknown words. I'm sure the method will work. It must. ^^

I'm now having a cup of green tea with honey in it and few ginger biscuits. Oh, I'm also listening to Christmas radio. All these things make me feel cozy and bring Christmas spirit. ^^ I hope that you all guys also have a warm fall evenings with your favourite hot drinks and snacks to keep you warm while waiting for the Season to come. :]
