Happy 'Pines Day everyone!
Carl sure has this place decorated beautifully for the new month. No humps about it! Halloween has taken over, but, it can't last forever. Soon enough red and green will engulf the black and orange we're accustomed to at this time of year. But, I must say the orange and black always looks magnificent with the fall foliage.
The weather is decent in Ottawa. Temperatures are currently 17c (63f) and we could reach the mid 20s (70s) this afternoon. Not bad for October! The only downfall is that rain is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow, which of course will be followed by temperatures dipping into the lower 50s and even upper 40s as a high.
I may have done something I shouldn't have today. My team is heading to Boston this weekend for Regionals. I cannot attend as I am still recovering from my knee injury. I had hoped to be healed by this time, but it just isn't happening. Anyway, we were also invited for the Division II championships in Sarasota, Florida about a month ago. The tournament is about 15 minutes from the USA championships that will be happening at the same time (October 24-28th). Since I have played in a couple weeks, I feel that I owe it to my team to be ready for the next tournament. We will be missing a bunch of our players because they cannot make it down due to school/work/family, etc. But, I think it's necessary for me to go... even if I'm not financially stable. Plus, I've never been Florida! Anyway, I found a round trip flight for $330 Canadian and I'm all prepared to fly down in three weeks. It should be real exciting... a beach house, on the Gulf of Mexico... As long as there are no hurricanes, it should be beautiful! I just thought I should share that with you all.
Well, I should be getting back to work. There's a bit to do here and it's my mail day. I should get on this! Have a great Wednesday, everyone! We're sneaking up on that 40 day to the Christmas Season mark. It's so close!
