......I don't think I will ever get rid of David's jacket....Am I wrong to feel like this ??

There is absolutely nothing wrong about that. It's natural to cherish something that reminds you of a loved one who's gone ahead.

I took the rare pleasure of taking time to listen to one of my very favorite Classical pieces last evening....It is Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, Op 92 in A. I know a lot of folks don't care for classical but There are so many kinds of music that I love and classical has a promient place. This particular symphony is haunting in its beauty...It actually sends chills up my spine when I listen to it. I don't know why. I believe he may have been deaf when he wrote it also but I am not sure about that. How could you write music if you are deaf ??? Amazing.......I also listened to Requiem by Mozart. He had such a short life. Died when he was in his 30s and they don't know why for sure.

I don't listen to classical music regularly, but when I do, one of my favorites is Clementi's piano sonatinas. I discovered them when I was a kid taking piano lessons, and I never did them justice. So a few years ago I got a recording of them being played they way they should be, and I really enjoy them. They're simple little pieces that are relaxing and happy to listen to.

My granddaughter just got here a few minutes ago. She was sitting in here with me but said, "I need to go see papa"! (Snow-in-Texas) So now she is in there with him being silly making him laugh! She always makes us laugh!

I think Wayne, my granddaughter and I are going to go for our morning walk.

I will be back a little later. Have a Merry Pines Day!!!

Speaking of keeping things of loved ones who passed on. I still have my grandmother's Christmas sweatshirt she wore every single Christmas. It's really cute, it has a Christmas mouse on it. I have no plans to get rid of it so of course keep the jacket, Caninemom!

If he doesn't have the common decency to help out someone who has fainted by him, I certainly wouldn't buy anything from him or vote for him!

He was reaching for her when the they cut away from the live video so I think he caught her as she fainted. Then he posted on facebook that everyone came rushing out to help her so he went on selling.

Wednesday hello ... :-)

I was going thru my emails and my daughter sent me one that included a recipe for a cookie that sounds perfect for this time of year. Thought I would share:

Pumpkin Snickerdoodles

I reposted this in the Recipes forum for members who don't visit the Countdown regularly ... I hope you don't mind. (I try to do that when I see a recipe posted here.)

Good Morning MMC!!!! It's going to be a chilly day here with a high around 53 degrees. My niece's are sitting here devouring my apple muffins and when they get finished with that, I'm going to take them home. Then I need to run to the grocery store before the sales are over today. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Pinesday morning everyone!

There is a hint of Christmas in the air at the Pines...oh wait. That's the Candy Cane hot chocolate that Carl just gave me! Guess he thought I needed it, what tipped him off? Maybe it was the Santa hat I was wearing? Heh..or should I say Ho-Ho-Ho? Ashley, William and I were at Costco yesterday. Found a LOT of Christmas goodies. Tonight I will post all the pictures I had taken in the Christmas Blossoms thread! William didn't want to leave the Christmas isle. Like Father, like Son eh?
Thanksgiving was good. Mom never came down. Disappointed about that but what can you do. Well better get back to work! Have a Christmasy Pinesday everyone!

.Happy Birthday to your dad! He sounds like my mom. She is 70 years old and works out 3-4 times a week, 2 hour work outs each time. She is in great health and lots of energy!

Thank you. I am sure he appreciates the wishes. It's always great to hear (older) people being concerned about their health and staying in shape!

That is so sweet, Xmas. I know she is still there with you......I don't think I will ever get rid of David's jacket....Am I wrong to feel like this ?? I know your mother was a very good person. I can tell because of the way her son is.........(((HUGS))) xo

Thank you for the kind comments.
I don't think it is wrong to feel that way, he was a very important part of your life and it is a way to keep him close.

I really liked that movie too !! Surprisingly I think my favorite character was Thor but I really liked them all......My favorite moment was then the hulk takes the villain and smacks him back and forth a few times on the floor !! I laughed so hard ! I guess it wasnt funny but, well you know, you saw it !!

We rewinded and watched that part over a few times, we laughed hard at it also.

I copied the recipe yesterday, saved it to my computer (Carolina Cooking), and emailed it to my SIL. She and I both LOVE anything pumpkin! Thanks so much!

Doesn't it! I saw this and said to myself, that if nothing else gets accomplished this weekend, these cookies will be made, baked and consumed...lol

Good Morning

I hope you all have a nice day.

Do I remember it right that the canadian thanksgiving and the american thanksgiving (american = the united nation of america) isn't on the same date? The american one is on november right?

I would like to be at home at the moment. At work we are having problems with our internet sever (which are working for all european branch of our company). Which means that our internet, outlook exchange server as well as many databases are real slow. If I wouldn't know better I would doubt that my employer is actually a IT company.

Other than that my mom has good news. She works in a nursing home. In the last couple of years she never worked on christmas. Therefore she thought she would choose to work on christmas this year, eventhough christmas is very important to her. Funny thing is, now almost all of her team members have also choosen to work on christmas. Now there are not enough team member who will work on new year eve. Yesterday the nurse manager came to her and asked her, if she could switch her working days. Of course she agreed to switch! Her joy is over the top at the moment. She is so happy that now she doesn't have to work during the christmas days.

I am glad to hear your mom got Christmas off.

Good morning, MMC!

I am up and already working this morning. Then I have to head to school to give a presentation. This week has been so hectic so far!!! I will be at the Pines tonight, see you all there!

Good luck on your presentation!

Good morning! I'm just buzzing through to say "hello" & I'm off to read some posts!! I'm looking forward to the Pines today...I hope Carl has the coffee hotter than the one I am trying to choke down now.... (I really dislike not hot coffee...)

I hope you are all having a great Hump Day!!!

Good morning everyone!

Happy 'Pines Day! It's the second of five 'Pines Days this month. Five 'Pines Days in one month!? It must be a special prelude to our magical Christmas Season! Speaking of magical, Carl seems to have the 'Pines shining bright with fall colours and Halloween decorations. He really knows how to catch the eye. I could spend all day here!

Aside from the 'Pines, today is a fairly special day. It's my dad's 58th birthday! It's hard for me to believe the fact that he is nearing 60. Not that 60 is old... He's still in great shape - he works out 3 times per week and plays hockey 5 times per week - and I am sure he will keep it up for quite some time. I'll have to give him a call to wish him a "Happy Birthday" sometime this evening.

In other news, I'm a little sore today. Practice ended up being canceled due to the fact that most of my team played at Northeastern Regionals this past weekend in Boston. We came fifth, by the way. Not bad. Overall, there were about 80 teams trying to qualify for Regionals. Only 16 qualified. From there, we came 5th out of 16 (or 80, however you want to look at it). We were missing quite a few players, but I'm proud of my teammates persevered on the field.

The gym yesterday seemed to take a bit out of me. I did all my exercises - sans jumping - without restriction. I'm tentative on the jumping part still. It will come later this week. Still, my entire body is pretty sore. I have to return to the gym today, but it will be a little easier than yesterday, I think.

I saw a "sign of Christmas" yesterday. The bar right beside my apartment had a sign that said "Book your Christmas parties with us..." I took a picture with my blackberry, but it did not turn out. I'll have to try it again on my way home from work. Anyway, it obviously made me excited. Speaking of signs, it was a little chillier this morning. The temperature was at 9c (48) but "felt like" 6c (43f). Thankfully, the wind was blocked by the buildings in my area, so I was able to make the trek to the bus in short sleeves, once again.

Well, I should get to work. We're less than five weeks away from entering the Christmas Season... and, of course, at a month from now, we'll all wake up to some excellent Specials Posts to heighten our excitement prior the the Season. Have a great Wednesday, everyone! Enjoy the 'Pines.

Happy B-Day to him!!!

Right there with you, CM3. You and I are hanging with the cool kids!

Awwwww..Thanks Meceka ....I am just an amateur at it....actually it is the Made and Binger show...I just kind of hang around when I can..Like I used to try and hang around the cool kids in school..!! xo

I seem to have the same problem myself this morning. Every time I have got up from my desk this morning to go get a hot cup of coffee, and bring it back to my desk, something comes up or someone else needs me and by the time I get back; cold coffee...

I need more hot coffee.....

Yup, I saw it and the funny part is that he didn't skip a beat! Not only did she faint once, she did it twice and all awhile this is going on, he kept on talking.....

Now, that's a perfect example of someone who has the gift of gab, that was born to be either a salesman or a politician! lol.....
Hey! I resemble that remark!
