Christmas Countdown - 2012

Good Morning MMC!!!!! We are going to start a warm up today with a high of 69 this afternoon. I've already taken my niece's home and now I'm just going to back and watch some racing, football, and maybe even some of the wnba finals. The Indiana fever are one win away from winning the championship. So at least we have one good sports team left here in town. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

I'm ashamed to say that we are skipping church this morning. Both Jacob and Elizabeth have a bad cold, coughing, sneezing, feeling bad. SO, the orange juice is flowing their way, and the coffee is flowing mine.

We're planning to go out to my mom's for lunch. I thought Jacob and I might do some hunting this afternoon but not if he's still feeling this bad. We'll see.

Snow-in-Texas and I have had a very nice, very busy weekend! We did a lot of "window shopping" in historic Downtown Grapevine, Texas yesterday and looked at a lot of Christmasy things. When we left there we stopped at a mall and walked around. We listened to Christmas music on the way home then I told him that I am ready to go drive around and look at Christmas lights! We decided we can go knock on some doors and get their houses decorated before the sun goes down!

We were so tired last night, came home and watched some Christmas shows and fell asleep. I slept almost 10 hours!

Now, looking at the clock, I got to get moving! I don't have time to read everything on the Countdown this morning but will try later!

Goooooooooooood Morning! Hope this finds everybody being lazy or getting ready for church! Either way....have fun.

Last night was wonderful. We just went and looked around. I went in to Hobby Lobby and started to take some pictures and my phone died. DARN! I dropped it in the dogs water in Feb. and the battery has been awful since. However, a dead phone didn't mess up my night...it actually enhanced it. There was no way for anyone to get ahold of me...so there was no interruptions....just good ol family fun. There will be more of that coming up in the next two and a half months.

Today=work, football, and some cooking....gonna be another good day!

Meceka, Caninemom was quoting you here about the raccoon but I cannot find the post. You both sound JUST LIKE ME! I love having animals live around me. It was their home to begin with and I moved in on their turf. That's nice of you to let them live where they want to. I don't like to kill mice either!

In the case of squirrels in my attic, I had no choice but to patch up the holes where they got in. They can chew the wires and cause damage to the house or themselves but other than that, if nothing tragic will happen, let them do whatever! =)

I love having animals around! I know what you mean about the damage that can be done with squirrels ~ mice are the same. I live in a house that was made in the 40s ~ lots of work needs to be done to mouse-proof the place. The cats outside rarely hunt close to the house so an occasional mouse will get in through the roof, of all places. We use tall trash cans that we bait with scraps of food. The mice go after the food and cannot get out of the can. We release them way out back in the brush pile so that they will have a chance to survive.

It's late, I can't sleep, so here I am... I took the Mrs out for dinner tonight and Oh Boy, it was great, but it's not liking me too much! Have you ever felt like that you just ate a brick? Well that's how I feel right now. Boy, 6 hours later and I'm still feeling it; I need the extra strength Malox.

Well after dinner, we went out on our continued search for a new Christmas Tree, and we found one that we liked and bought it tonight. It's a Martha Stewart Living, 7.5 foot tall tree. It is a pre-lit tree, but I will be taking those off....

I'm still putting up my Halloween decorations but I have to tell you, going shopping for a Christmas tree really got me all pumped up for Christmas instead... I'm sooooo Holiday confused right now...

Well it is getting really late here on the east Coast and I guess I should try to make another attempt to get some sleep; see you all in the AM... Say Goodnight Gracie!!!

much better thanks, I am staying home today, enjoying a nice dinner with my family, watching the new muppet movie. They tried to get me to come in for a few hours but I said no.

What a day!
I was to work from 8:30 to 2pm....then she comes in and almost passes out so I send her off to the Hospital, making me do almost the whole day by myself (this is at a subway) It was 5 before the next worker was due and she came in 5 min late. I stayed till 5:30 to finish up the dishes, but when I found her just visiting with friends, I left her to finish them. With so much work to do if she had time to visit then she had time to do it herself, besides I was tired! (this is the same girl I talked about the other day, the one who thinks she was hired as window dressing rather than an actual worker!) LOL
Anyway, finally came home to a nice long soak, then had take out dinner (thought I would get someone to make my food for a change!)
Now I am catching up here and watching Night at the Museum.

We have mice living under our garage floor and there is something living in our shed out back........I FORBID anything happening to them...But my husband would never hurt anything anyway......he feels the same as me.........xo
