Good afternoon, MMC family! Hope you're all well! I can't believe how many posts there are to read from yesterday/last night. I can't wait to read them though. That is what I am going to do now!

I am so excited for tonight! :???:We are having a chicken that is the crockpot as we speak, mashed potatoes, noodles, filling, and veggies. For dessert, we will be having the leftover pumpkin pie I made the othernight. I think the best part will be when the kids open their Elf on the Shelf. I am sure there will be some fighting at first, until I explain it to EA and sit him up. I think I told you guys before, I got each of them a stuffed version, that I will be giving them on St. Nicholas Day and I will be putting that in their shoes, that way they each have one then.

Hope you're all having a great day and a great start to your season! I am enjoying every minute of it! Having you my family and you guys here is making it so extra special! :snowball:

I've heard that, too, Jay!

I read today that Benjamin Franklin once said that "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy..."

Good Tuesday afternoon, my Christmas friends!

We finally got some good news on all of my medical bills. The last two bills that we've been waiting on finally arrived...and they're not too bad at all! Yippee! More Christmas $$$!
:???:
I still can't figure out why I have to pay for two ambulance rides. The first ambulance broke down mid-trip, and I had to be transferred to another one halfway to Savannah. LOL! I will say that the first one didn't charge nearly as much as the second one. Ah well. I'm through with ambulances, anyway!

Elizabeth's stage debut in the Nutcracker ballet starts this Friday! I'm so proud of her!

I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
I would argue that ambulance bill, it was not your fault they broke down why should you pay?

Congrats on your daughter debut! Is she very nervous about it?

Tomorrow is the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Spugs! (click the link for more info)

The Society for the Prevention of Useless Giving believed that Christmas presents should not be useless trinkets that are given indiscriminately because of custom or to curry favor, but should be gifts given sincerely to provide pleasure to those we truly care about. They even had their own trademarked logo in the form of a lapel pin:

The movement only lasted for a few years---it seemed to die out when the U.S. got involved in the First World War---and was never revived. But I'm fascinated by the story of their founding and their practical, yet loving, philosophy of Christmas gift-giving that is just as relevant today as it was when the group was formed 100 years ago. Join me in saluting the Spugs!
I have never heard of this before, very interesting. Thanks for sharing

Thank you, Made, I almost forgot about the Season starting at midnight! That would have been too bad!

I'm home today with sciatica. I was home yesterday with sciatica. Sciatica is getting to be like that house guest that doesn't know when to leave. It pops up unexpectedly, and it's a pain in the seat. Ah well, I worked on my Christmas Cards yesterday to take my mind off of it, and got them all done. Now I'm working on a Sunday School Christmas Pageant for a small number of kids. The commercially available ones always assume you have this huge Sunday School, and we just don't. It's fun to see what I can come up with each year. After I'm done with the pageant, I guess I'll drag a kitchen chair into the living room, and 'fluff up the tree'. I'm not sure what Hubby did to it last year when he put it away, but it looks like it's going to need a lot of fluffing. It's looking kind of congealed right now.

Back to work!

Hope you feel better soon - I had that so bad when I was pregnant with DS, I would come home from work and I wouldn't even be able to get out the car and walk, DH would have to carry me in the house. Mine still acts up everyonce in a while, but knock on wood, I haven't had trouble lately. Good luck! I'll say a prayer for you.

Hi everyone, hope you are all having a wonderful 1st day of the season. It is getting a little chilly here.

Boy was I tired this morning LOL!!! I had a blast last night!!!

The jet is fueled up for anyone who wants to go for dinner at Sugar's.
