Good Christmas Season Day #2, everyone! It is chilly this morning, and I will soon be off to radiation. I have been having a lot of nausea, so I will also go back to the doctor to change meds. If not, then I need to wean myself from these! UGH! TTYL

I am still praying for you! {{{HUGS}}}

Good afternoon!! I wanted to drop in to say "HAPPY PINES DAY!!!" I wanted to stay awake the other night to ring in the season, but I couldn't keep my peepers open!!! Then yesterday came & went & here we are!!! It's the 1st Pines Day of the Season! Woo Hooo!!

I am off work, going shopping with my neighbor ladies. I am really looking forward to it!!!

Last night I went shopping & bought all the ingredients to make MerryCareys parent's recipe for Fruit Cake! I have never made one before & I don't know that I have ever even tasted one. But here I go....

Hope you are all having a great day! I'll be ready to party at the pines tonight - no work tomorrow!

Happy Pines Day to you, too!

Hey everybody! Hope you had a great day!

I'm working on my final grocery list for Thanksgiving. I have a few more things to buy at the store and one more day of cooking ahead. On Saturday, we are going on a date to look at decorations, eat, and buy groceries (sound romantic, huh)!

But tonight....I'm looking at my recipe website and finding a few things to cook. Love doing this....

No football or Christmas movies on tonight...we are going to watch Duck Dynasty in a couple of hours, but I think I'm going to put on a Christmas movie in the meantime....

Catch yall in a little bit....

Since I am hungry, we are going to Round Table for dinner. I think I will have just breadsticks. I could eat those by the dozens!

Hope you are feeling better Seawaters ! xo

Happy Wednesday everyone. The temp was a chilly 23 when I left for work this morning. We are looking for a high in the lower 50s. All the snakes and bugs should be gone until spring.

We had a great birthday weekend in Pigeon Forge, Tn. Hard to believe our son is 17.

We put up our tree on Monday. My wife is still doing some additional decorating. Now it is time to enjoy the season while listening to Bing Crosby & Nat King Cole.

Have a blessed day everyone.

What a wonderful duo to listen to during Christmas Season though Nat is my personal favorite but it wouldn't be Christmas w/o Bing ! xo

Thank you! I will tell her. It's actually Hollidaysburg's - she has 3 this coming week. She is excited. I always love Hollidaysburg's parade - they are always the best.

Tell Aunt Patty, Uncle Jim, Uncle Son, and all of my Cousins hi for me!!!!!!

Do they have it over by the courthouse?

I think the Elf on the Shelf is such a cool idea! Our friends just got one for their youngest daughter. She is the the only "believer" left of their 3 kids, so they are going to have a blast with it! She printed off from the internet "101 Elf on the Shelf ideas" TOO FUN!!! ENJOY! Think I can get one for my hubby???

Sure!!!! I want to get one for myself but I think it would lose some of it's luster if I had to do everything.

Hi all! I miss talking to you guys. I am going to play catch up, but first I have a question. I could really use opinions since it is Christmas-related!

For one of my mom's Christmas gifts, I ordered her a Thomas Kinkade Christmas painting. It will be coming early next week. My concern is that if I give it to her on Christmas, she won't be able to enjoy it. Since we take our decorations down not long after New Years, she would only have it up for a week or so before we take decorations down. When do you think it would be appropriate to give her the gift so she can enjoy it? Some friends of mine told me on Thanksgiving since that is the day my family starts our all-out decorating. Others told me early December, and others mid-December.

I would love your opinions! Thanks :) :)

Hi Jennifer !! How sweet - That sounds like a wonderful gift for your mom !! If you start decorating on Thanksgiving, that is when I would give it to her. That way she can enjoy it longer !! xo

I guess I'm behind the times but I just learned today that Phil was the starting quaterback ahead of Terry Bradshaw in college. That's pretty funny.

Find me on Facebook - if you need my personal info again, just PM me. As much as I love everyone here, unfortunately anyone can see pictures on MMC, so that is why I don't posts pictures or names of my family. I can post pictures and can make them private on there.

I don't blame you a bit for being protective, Sugar ! xo

I am still trying to decide! I feel that Thanksgiving is too early in a way, but then she could enjoy it the entire Christmas season. I do not know for a fact if she would keep it up year-round or not. If not, I would hate to see it up for only a couple of weeks before it being taken down. I don't want to hint and ask her because then she'll have a good idea of what I am getting for her. This is hopefully going to be a big surprise. I just don't want to give it to her, say, Thanksgiving and have her be disappointed to get a gift that early. Since I only get my parents a couple of gifts each I don't want to ruin the fun of opening on Christmas for her. So torn!

I got her this painting:

It is called Christmas Evening.

Absolutely gorgeous !! She is going to love it !!! xo
