In the early 70’s when Liberace came to my town, the young Australian performer, Jamie Redfern, performed this song; my brother had the authographed album. The day of the countdown to the start of the season, the song was playing in my head and I started inserting my own Christmas thoughts into it and so came about my idea for this new song.

I headed into the downtown core
Cedar boughs, lights and bows adorned the shops

Too bad Hubby is not there. When his mom needed a new air conditioner-furnace unit, he ordered one that shipped free from Florida and installed it himself (with a little help from me--I helped pull freon lines], costing less than a few thousand.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday! I have been busy cleaning and organizing in the basement ~ we need to put in a new furnace. The repairman was here for three hours yesterday ~ did all sorts of things to the old one, and it still isn't running right. It will be nice to warm the house up in the morning ~ the little heater we use isn't bad, but when it gets damp out and windy, it does not do much to heat this old place. And when you have a cold, like I seem to have (bah!), it does not feel very warm at all! I can't believe how much stuff is down in the basement ~ stuff from my parents that I haven't gone through yet. I don't spend a lot of time down there as it is has a dirt floor, what is called a Michigan basement, and loads of cobwebs and shadows ~ very spooky! Tomorrow, we find out when the furnace can be installed and how much it is going to cost ~ fingers crossed it isn't too much! I'm glad it is going to be fairly warm this week ~ temps are supposed to be in the mid to upper 50s :???:

I'm going to go browse the web for some Christmas music deals.

A quick goodnight to all. We went to Wal-Mart and then stopped by Taco Bell. My computer is still not good, so it will go into the shop tomorrow when we return from Redding. The Elks meeting went well today. All the ladies loved the cards and had a great time with the game. They really complimented me. It is nice to be appreciated for work you do. TTYT
