So, what's everyone doing today? Me, sitting here and watching ABC Family and some other specials. I'm sure at some point I'm going to go out and play outside, but just a lot of relaxing and hanging out with Wifey....

I took my niece's shopping and now we are kicking back and watching ABC Family too.

Like many of you, I can't stop thinking about what happened yesterday to those poor children and the adults in Connecticut. The sermon I delivered Sunday had to do with the fact that Good ultimately wins, and it was based around the words of one of my favorite Christmas songs, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Yesterday, after hearing the news, and this morning, the lyrics of that song keep going through my mind...
And in despair I bowed my head: "There is no peace on earth," I said, "For hate is strong and mocks the song Of peace on earth, good will to men."
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not dead, nor doth he sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail, With peace on earth, good will to men."

I am praying for everyone affected by this tragedy. I know how everything ends, and in the end evil fails...sometimes it seems like we're taking a while to get there, though. But, God is in control, and His timing is perfect.
Okay...sorry to preach! cheesy
And I'm praying for all of you...that you have a great Christmas season!

Great Post, Thanks.

Wow! We woke up to frost on the pumpkin here in northern California this morning. Speaking of pumpkin, Hubby is in the kitchen making pumpkin spice eggnog waffles for breakfast. He does love his waffle machine, the kind that restaurants and hotels use. We went for hors d'oeuvres at the Elks Lodge last night and enjoyed quite a spread. I lost another three pounds last week because I just was not hungry, but for some reason, when we go to the Elks, I can eat almost everything on my plate! One friend brought a spiral sliced ham that was so delish! I dropped another pants size, but I don't think I could fit into that black leather miniskirt I talked about in a previous post! LOL

I thought I might send a card. Just thought it might give some of us an idea. I just can't even imagine the pain. I mean, we have had students die at our campus, three (one of my former students) in a senseless single-car accident and several from leukemia and other illnesses, but nothing like this. God bless us, every one.

After what happened yesterday, I just had to come on here to find some measure of perspective. So happy to be able to read what you all have posted concerning this unspeakable horror.

Good afternoon, MMC!

Can you believe there are only two weekends left until Christmas? And by the time we are through with next weekend, Christmas is here!

It looks like it is going to be a white Christmas! Yay!!!!!! We haven't had one for years - it always seems to go into the 50s temperature-wise and if we have snow it melts. We are supposed to get consistent snow from the 21st to the night of the 24th, so they are calling for around 4.5 inches total by then. That means I might be waking up to snow on Christmas!

I am going to have a relaxing day at home. I think I am going to study for a final and watch Christmas movies tonight. I think tonight I will put Elf in. Last night I watched Jack Frost.

A final thought on yesterday,.,., at least from me

The origins of this forum was born years ago at Christmas.Com.. a few of the old guard are still here.. suddenly, the forum and site collapsed,, were were this extended cyber family-Jayish, Crown, Gracie, Cedar, me.... truly anonymous ( some of us still are anonymous..). There was no facebook, no emails,. nothing.. for days we were all frantic and we found each other again at The Xmas Place ( another site now gone)- I was the last to find the site and the "family was all there.." My first post said..... "Everyone..It's ok..I'm here.. so are the others... we're still together...It doesn't matter where or what happens.. we're still together,, we can go on from here..."

We can go on.. we can.. we're all still together..

Love back to you, Binger, even though I am a newbie compared to you guys. We would be so lonely without you !! If I may, (((HUGS))) to you xo

wow, so close to Christmas! Love it!!

Big Christmas party at Sears today. They are giving away gift certificates, having carolers, all kinds of treats. I get to work there today by request of the store manager. It is going to be fun.

Now, I am going to get some breakfast and then clean out the van before I leave for work.

Lovemas....less than a week.....wow....

Got a party to go to tonight (Wifey's family), so looking forward to that...

But tonight, White Christmas comes on....can't wait to DVR and watch!

CS & ballcoach, have a great time at your Christmas parties!! :yahoo:

Beautiful post! Thank you.

I like that gift exchange. We used to do that when teachers had a Christmas party. One year, I ended up with a black leather miniskirt! Hubby liked that one!

I bet he did!! =) I love those exchanges, they are loads of fun!!

Wonderful idea, Seawaters. Thank you for sharing the address.

I watched the Dateline about Sandy Hook (from last night) this morning, and it really stays with you. Praying for all of the families involved, and the entire community. God bless them.

Yay for white Christmases!! Enjoy your movie tonight, Elf is one of my favorites. Always can put a smile on my face. Hope you're feeling better, Jennifer!

Not that it matters much but I will be here too !!

:rudolph:

Of course it matters!! xo

Good Afternoon, friends~
Hope you're all having a nice Saturday!
I could use an inspirational pick me up, so I think I'll throw in a Christmas movie to watch while I have some lunch.
What are you up to today?
We are going to do some more packing, and run some errands later.
Sending lots of hugs to everyone!! Have a Christmassy day! xo :sparkle:

Hey everyone!

Change of plans - going to run to the mall for something last minute. Let's hope I don't get run over by a mob of people LOL! The mall is crazy this time of year, especially during the weekend. My rib is sore today but the bump is no bigger so I am just hoping it's healing!

I didn't get any studying done yet, I'm kind of a procrastinator when it comes to that sort of thing. I only have three finals in person this week, so I will be done mid-week and finally on Christmas break. I am looking forward to being home for two weeks!

Have a fun/safe day, everyone! I hope you can avoid the crowds if you have to run out for anything!

Christmas after Christmas -- site after site -- through sleep and coffee......
Still with you, dear Mystery Twin!

Hey everyone! How are you? It's been a while since I checked in with you all. Sorry about that. I've been so busy. Working a lot of overtime and such. I work 12 hours again last night.

I just finally called in my greeting. I have a cold - I sound kind of funny - hope you all don't mind! :) What is new and exciting in your lives?! Not a whole lot here. I can't believe Christmas is will soon be here before we know it. I am taking off tomorrow night, to take EA and my niece, with my mom to a showing of the Polar Express. They have pizza and hot chocolate for them, read the book, just do all kinds of special things. They even give them the bell at the end. I can't wait - I know she'll love it.

Does anyone else have anything special or fun planned coming up for Christmas? I love making these traditions with my kids and family. These memories with last forever!

Well, off to read the rest of the boards. Thinking of all you and praying for all who needs my prayers, especially everyone involved in the shooting in CT. God Bless them and all of you - thinking of your families and furbabies! Keep smiling!

Good evening,

Got home just over an hour ago, very slow moving night at work. Got a lot accomplished though. My wife went to the Dr. she has a sinus infection and bronchitis, she is out of work for the rest of the week. Watching the end of Christmas Vacation, I love this movie.

Good night all.

I hope your wife is better soon!

Good evening, MMC!

I am about to go to bed, but I thought I'd give an update on my ribs. I spoke to a nurse friend and she said she is pretty sure that I pulled a muscle and maybe even bruised my rib and that's why I have the bony lump. It isn't hurting (unless I move a certain way then it is sore) and it does not hurt to touch, so I am going to leave it alone and enjoy the rest of the Christmas season :] Sometimes I feel that if you go to the doctor, you're just borrowing trouble! Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!

Two days left of class and then it is time for finals! I am so ready to be off so I can really enjoy Christmas. It is such a shame my break starts so late, only three days before Christmas. It really cuts the fun short!

Have a good night, everyone! Sleep well and sweet dreams!

I hope you are better soon, Jennifer! Good luck with your finals!!

Good morning everyone.

I have been gone for a while. Both of my parents have been in the hospital. Dad with pneumonia. Mom with complications from cancer including pneumonia and a UTI. Dad is doing better and may get out today. Mom is a little better but will be there a while longer. They are both in Gastonia, NC so I walked through Christmas town USA, (McAdenville) several nights after leaving the hospital. http://www.mcadenville-christmastown.com/ It was a needed break.

I will drop back in when I can. Hope everyone has a great Christmas season as we celebrate the day God became a man to model a perfect life for us, provide for us to be reconciled to God by dying for our sins, and then rising again. It is neat to celebrate his birth while anticipating his return.

I am keeping your whole family in my prayers, mgramsey.
