Christmas Countdown - 2012

It was a LONG day of packing, and we are exhausted!!

Adrian still has to finish up some work, so we haven't shut down our computers just yet, but soon- later tonight.

So I wanted to pop in one last time. I read most of the posts, but don't have enough time to comment on them individually..

We go to pick up the U-Haul tomorrow morning, then we start loading.
I have a feeling it'll be an interesting day. We have friends helping, and some coming later to say a final goodbye. =[

Harlowe is very anxious, stressed, and confused- poor little girl. I'm trying my best to reassure her that she's coming, but she won't realize it until she's in the car. Tomorrow, I'll test out the lowest dose of her sedative prescription. Please keep her in your thoughts.

I'm gonna miss you guys. Take good care!!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! We woke up to another 5 inches of the white stuff covering the roads and sidewalks this morning. So it looks like a couple more hours of shoveling for me. Then I have to run to the grocery store. I'm out of everything. Well maybe not everything but the basics like bread, eggs, and milk. I also want to hit up a few stores and see if anyone has any Santa's left. Then it will be home to listen to the Greasy Skillet tonight. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure if I will be around tonight for the chat for GS as I need to borrow a computer again (ugh!). I should still be able to listen to it on the radio, though. It was a good show ~ a Blondie song is included

I have yet to get out and look for sales. We are a little too broke right now to even buy things on clearance! We splurged a bit on Christmas so all is well! We still have food and a roof over our heads. We will be caught up financially by next week! =)

I haven't been out to look for sales yet, either. I, too, am somewhat broke. All bills are taken care of, but there isn't money for anything extra. That has been the case for most of the year, yet it has been a good year

good morning everybody....well....im up since 8 am...which was more than 7 hours ago.......so good morning is a funny thing to write for me....but most of y´all will be getting up soon now....so it is more fitting than Good day


not much going on here today...been doing the laundry....going to the river with kandice to feed the ducks with old bread (she loves doing that!!!!)....and now I am chilling on the couch...and warm my neck a little...cos it tensed up...then later I will do some cooking....and am still trying to think of a present of my niece who turns 9 years-old on Monday....holla back my friends

but, I have switched to a pot of homemade meatball soup because it is a snowy and blustery day and the soup will go great. Will still serve the buns with it. The house is smelling great with them baking and the soup simmering.

Apple blossoms are a flaky pastry with apple pie filling

served hot with icecream is wonderful

That pastry looks yummy! I'm not a big fan of ice cream so I'll just use real whipped cream with no sugar as a topping or dip cheesy

Last night before bed, the local meteorologist said we would get a maximum of 3 inches of snow between 1 AM last night and 1 PM today, and most likely would only end up with 2 inches. I woke up a little bit ago and we already have 6! It is still coming down out there, too! With all of the snow that we previously had, I'd say we have well over a foot in the yards. Thank goodness we had a two day break and they were able to clear off the roads from before. It is bad out.

I need to apparently double or triple what the local meteorologists are calling for because they are never right!!

Stay safe! I agree, meteorologists rarely get the forecast right. I used to laugh whenever the Weather Channel's forecasters called for snow flurries as we'd always get a major storm cheesy

Myself? I thought this was hilarious! I have never heard anyone say this after such a storm. Thank goodness I had just swallowed my coffee!

We are on our way for breakfast! I will bring a lot of dog and cat food too. Seems you have a lot of dogs and cats running around right now from that storm! (that was a bad joke, I know!) cheesy

I guess you need help shoveling? On my way there, then we will head to Bernies for breakfast!

I love taking the grandkids to feed the ducks! Have fun!

I did some shopping for Christmas 2013 today.
I have a big box (marked Chrsitmas 2013) I want to fill with Christmas stuff all through the year.
Already I have some Christmas cards there, gingerbread house (!)
and a few calendar gifts.. Can't wait to fill it up!

We are soon having Pinnekjøtt for dinner cheesy

If I can fly it, it can go through anything!!! It has a Rudolph nose on the front! Can we go out and play in the snow later?

4 to 8 inches of snow forecast later today. I think we'll stay in and fix spaghetti for lunch. It'll be a good day for movies! Can the Lear fly safely in the snow? You folks who have been wanting snow can come in and watch the snowfall and movies!

Gotta go now and get some things done around the house so I can come back here later and relax. Hope you have a fun and relaxing weekend! I've really been enjoying the conversation here.

When I was a teenager, I loved to do that: sit in the den with only the Christmas lights on and a stack of records on the record player. You do know what a record player is, don't you?

Well, it's a quiet morning...I've still got the Christmas tree lights on, the fire is going, and everything else is off...I love doing this during the season...it's so relaxing...

I'm about to get up and get in the shower...we've got a ballgame at 10:30, so I'm going to go....I will see everyone later today!

I was in for a good nights sleep but this nagging cough decided to have a "party" and keep me up last night! I finally gave in and took some cough syrup, went back to sleep then my dogs woke me up early to go potty. I don't mind my dogs waking me up but a little mad at that cough! Oh well, Merry On!!!

Wayne and I will probably hang out and play some games today. We hope to catch some of the Greasy Skillet tonight! Everyone join in if you can! The link is below if you are interested!

Soup or sliders, either way, I am THERE! I do a ham and Swiss cheese slider that is SO GOOD! I first made them before my last child was born, but they weren't called sliders then, LOL!

Congratulations! Hubby and I have been married 14 years but together 16 years. Many more happy years to the both of you!!!

This past December 27th was my wife's (CAH) and my 9th anniversary of being together. Not wedding anniversary, just being together as a couple. It has flown by, but it has been the best 9 years of my life. Happy Anniversary sweetie!!!:celebrate::dance:

It is such chaotic thing to move or be displaced like this.

I think I will print out this pic and tape it to my window and pretend you are standing outside with the snow in MY yard!

If you're lucky you will have a snow like we did 2 years ago when we had over 4 feet of snow on the ground at one time. I am over 6ft tall and the snowbank was taller than me.

This one did come and go too fast. But instead of doing it over, let's start on the next one NOW. We can do that---we're MMC!

Sure! Or we can wander around the neighborhood looking at the lights while singing carols, just to confuse the neighbors!

Oh, yeah! We bought a new turntable/CD player-recorder/cassette player/radio earlier this year---it can even play 78s! But I seldom get around to curling up with some LPs. I meant to listen to a bunch of LPs during the season and just never got around to it. With the Christmas Log on the TV, it would be a blast!
