Woke up to frost again this morning. Why oh why can't we get snow??? Carnitas at the Elks Lodge was really good last night. We will be headed out for Redding later this morning and will be there until tomorrow afternoon. CM3, do you have a list of our members and their pets' names that you could PM me? I want to add them to my prayers, both owners and members.

It's a quiet night around the house tonight, the kids are all out with their friends and the wife is at work (she's pulling a double tonight). So, I deceided to start on of my promised tasks for the winter and that is to start transfering all our home movies of the kids since they've been born over from VHS or 8MM to DVD.

Of my gosh, I just cannot get over how much the time has flown by since 1992 when my son was born. Here I am watching him as I type this with him swinging in his old baby swing at 4 months old. I would give anything to go back in time with the knowlege I have today! Awww man, I'm getting old, I sometimes can't get over that I will turn 50 this year....

With as many tapes that I have, this project will last for at least a month, but, It's a good winter time project!

Cherish the old times with the little ones. I really miss being able to hold those tiny babies in my arms.

We had three good snows here three seasons ago. Nothing but a few dustings since then. I am really starting to miss the white stuff and my girls are just outright sad about it.

I grew up in NC and we got snow every year!!! I have loved it all my life!

And with this post, Christmasstar is poster #3000. For her efforts, she wins a slightly melted spatula!!! Don't believe all those ads that say they stand up to 500 degrees heat, LOL

it is getting better, thanks. I am now at about a 1 or 2 even with work thrown in. I am careful to not reach with my right arm which is a bit awkward, but it is giving it time to heal.

I forgot to tell y'all that I woke up during the night with cramps in both legs. I went to the fridge and finally found some pickles and drank some of the juice. The cramps left immediately!!! I sure was glad!

Good afternoon, MMC!

I cannot wait until 3 PM - hockey is back! I am very excited to watch my Penguins. That being said, today calls for an easy but delicious dinner. We threw one of our favorites in the crockpot and the smell is making me hungry already!

We were supposed to get some snow tonight but they cancelled what they were calling for. Now the next couple of days are just supposed to be bitter cold - yuck.

I am going to finish some cleaning in the house and I will check back with you all later!

I am glad to know this! I wish I would have known about this a month ago when I had a cramp so bad that I was in tears and screaming. It was the worst one I ever experienced. I would have had to send Wayne to get the juice because I couldn't move at all. I did send him after Advil even though I knew that would not help immediately but wanted to make sure it didn't come back again that night.

Reminder: Keep pickle juice handy! (Maybe on the nightstand! Ha ha!)

I was almost in tears and FINALLY remembered about pickle juice! What a God-send!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I have been cooking away all day. My sister and her family are coming for dinner. I took a day off of tracking my food and exercise and may have eaten a few too many chocolates... shh! Dont' tell! :)

I scored some Christmas goodies at CVS today for 75% off... some wrapping paper, some lights, and some Santa hats!!

Good afternoon, everyone. Just wanted to stop in quick, so you know that all is well, well sort of...ha.

I have caught the nasty bug that most of America seems to have. This cold is really running me down. I have no energy what-so-ever. I am thankful that it is my weekend off and DH is here to me take care of the kids. I just feel like I've been hit by a bus.

I know I've missed a lot on here. If I've missed anything super important, someone please PM or message me on Facebook. It would be greatly appreciated. I will try to stop back later, but I can't promise anything! Who knows how I will feel then!

Miss all of you. God Bless and thinking and praying for each an everyone of you!

The value of the project far outweighs the time involved, as I am sure you know!!!

You know something, your right! During the transfer process last night, I discovered that with the oldest vcr tapes that I was transferring the old home movies from, they were really starting to degrade. With the colors turning a reddish hue and also grainey, then I got to thinking about things a bit, back then, when my son was born, 1992, my father-in-law had a old style vhs camera (the one whith the tape inside it). I would surmize then, (since he's an "el cheapo", a nice guy, but cheap) he most likely used vhs tapes that he had recorded on, over and over again that he most likely bought in the 80's....

I'm glad I decided to do this now, and discovered this, before we lost any movies of my son as a baby. This is a point made, where all things are meant to be for some reason or another, don't you agree....

Oh, by the way, the first vhs tape transfer - a six hour process! I got done at 3 am last night; another lesson learned to start earlier in the day... lol

Are you having a good Saturday? We're heading out for a walk soon, and are thinking of having a British film show downstairs tonight. We have some DVDs of British films that we haven't seen yet. I could brew up some tea and have a jolly old time!

Ouch! I empathize. I've had a few so bad that I couldn't straighten my leg enough to walk. I've jumped out of bed yelling a few times with those things. The pickle juice is a good tip. Neither of us eats pickles, but it might be worth buying a jar just to keep the juice handy! Happily, I haven't been bothered with them recently.

Snow squall watch for
Stratford issued

Strong potential for local snow squalls tonight and Sunday.

Cold strong westerly winds gusting to 80 or 90 km/h moving over the Great Lakes tonight will very likely generate local snow squalls with visibilities reduced to less than 250 metres in snow and blowing snow.

This is the 3rd one we have had this year and still have little to no snow to show for it. So we will just have to wait and see what this one produces!
