Speaking in the context of an engineer; The dryer useage sounds like a good idea if you have an electric dryer. Just capture the lint and there you go. However, there is one point to note for the novice, if anyone is thinking about doing this, and you have a gas fired dryer, then the dryer exhaust must be vented to the exterior of the home and away from an operatable window, due to carbon monoxide concerns per the International Mechanical and gas codes...It never hurts to check with the local code enforcement people just to make sure. A little friendly fyi....

Good Point. We are all electric here.

The temperatures , Whoa.....now that's what you call cold. It sure sounds like snuggling weather to me! Body heat, there's nothing better (especially if it's someone elses) lol... and a nice fire, a cup of cocoa and a nice warm soft blanket wouldn'y hurt either.....

Another good point. Now I need to go out and find a girlfriend before tomorrow morning.

I did not realize that this is the last full week of January, wow, 1st Rudolph Day of 2013 is Friday.

Do you know what else happens on Friday?? Valerie returns to QVC!!!!!!!!! It may not be Christmas stuff but it should still be good for a couple of laughs. 2am, 9am, & 5pm.

Thank you! I thought it was going to be enjoyable until my professor from my online class slapped a pair project on us. My partner is so difficult to work with. He is taking a vacation this week so wants to do the assignment at 10-10:30 PM my time or later because he is three hours behind. I think it's kind of ridiculous to be working that late when I want to relax on the couch or go to bed. This is why I hate group projects! Online classes should not have group assignments.

It would make more sense to pair you up with someone in your timezone.

Hi MMC!!!

How are you all? We here on Long Island are doing well. We had a lovely weekend, the sun was SHINING it was beautiful!!!

We started our hike at 7:30 in the morning on Saturday and my goodness the sights and sounds of the beautiful outdoors. I tell you as we walk the trail and take in the beautiful I can't help but think God is Great, even in the midst of winter there are so may amazing sights. The best is all the holy bushes, I love the way the forest always looks like Christmas because of it.

This weekend we are going on a seal hike to view the Harbor Seals that come down to the tip of Long Island to enjoy what they feel is balmy weather LOL!!! A few years ago we saw the babies rushing into the water, it was so awesome. They have a large Hawk population and bunny population. If you get up real early in the morning, I mean just as the sun is breaking over the ocean you may see the gray fox coming back from the nights hunt, it is truly hard to believe you are on Long Island!!!

Well, enough about me and my last few days, now time to check in with ya'll and see how you have been and what you have been doing...

Miss you guys...
LB

Glad to hear you had a great weekend.

I knew that about the US still doing imperial system. When we were beginning the metric system, especially in school, there was so much opposition that it was basically canned. I admire those who can automatically do both. It is too much for my pea-brain to contend with! LOL

That is what is happening here with cursive writing, the school doesn't teach it anymore. The administration says it is a dying art. I think it is important that kids are taught how to write cursive. I know computers and tablets are the way everything is going (books, testing, etc...) but this is a bit ridiculous.

Handwriting is no longer taught at my school. However, I do (rather did) teach it.

I agree...Cursive writing IS IMPORTANT !!! I may not do it well but I know how to do it !!! Geesh....

Good evening,

It's SNOWING!!!!

Busy day on projects at work, I am feeling it. Day off tomorrow, we will be busy, JP has a Dr. appt., and I have a dentist appt in the AM, LC then has a dentist appt in the afternoon. The car was fixed today, just as I thought it was a ruptured gas line, it will cost just over $100, it could have been a lot worse. The frigid air moves in tomorrow night,

Here's the menu at Hell's Kitchen. The lemon ricotta hot cakes are awesome, and the porridge is a favorite among their customers! After reading the menu, I am going to order the coffee (both regular and decaf--truly wonderful--they roast their own beans), a mug, the legendary peanut butter, homemade marshmallows, rib rub, and maybe some other things. I better do it now before I retire!!!
