Christmas Countdown - 2013

What exactly is the YuleTube? I feel like I have heard the term on here before but can't remember. Is it something related to MMC or is it a personal project? That afghan you made for charity was amazing, I cannot sew/crochet/stitch to save my life. I always admire people who can.

It's a personal project. Mr. and I put together a DVD of Christmas-themed movie and TV clips each year. This year will be the fifth one. Before that, we compiled CDs of funny or unusual or rare Christmas audio for ten years. It's something for more-than-a-card-but-less-than-a-gift friends, or a little something extra to tuck in with a gift.

Thanks for the compliment on the afghan! Try crochet sometime. It really isn't very hard, and there are tons of instructional videos on YouTube that make it very easy to learn.

Hello MMC!
I hope everyone is doing well!
I have been super busy. I feel like everytime I log on here, I have to log right back off to do something. We have been doing some back to school shopping here and there. We have also been scheduling some doctor and dentist appointments. My youngest took her senior portraits a few days ago. I have also been working on financial aid applications for my two oldest. I am having some problems with that, and I am getting frustrated. And to top it off we are still having internet problems, we keep losing the connection. It also affects my phone. I could be in the middle of a conversation and then I lose the call. I have another technician coming to the house today to see if he could figure it out.
Other than that we are well. I am just completely sleep deprived and exhausted. I am looking forward to the start of the school year. I am looking forward to the girls being in early on school nights and me being able to get some sleep!

The same here! And I've started the organizing of my Christmas music too, with plans to get it finished this weekend. Can't wait! Any new additions to your library this year?

Ohhh, I need to organize my Christmas music. Great idea!! Maybe AFTER tomatoes are done producing like crazy!!!!

We plan to go to a local festival called "Festival of the pines" for the first time =]
It's supposed to be pretty amazing! It's an arts/crafts fair, food vendors, entertainment, etc. Family event!

Good afternoon, everyone! How are you all today? I am well! Just recovering from the Pines last night!

What are your plans for the day? I don't have too much planned - I have to start going through clothes for the kids for the fall. I take them to a re-sale shop and what I don't sell, I donate to local shelters here. Other than that, I've been spending time with the kids this morning. I go back to work tonight, so we probably won't do anything tonight.

I saw a picture of a kit for a Christmas afghan on the Herrschner's website, but I don't need their pattern---I just saved the photo and will go out and buy yarn and to make it! I'm waiting for the weather to cool off a bit first, because as it progresses, it's too warm to hold on my lap in the summertime.

I have all of his Christmas music but it's digitally converted LP's or cassette tapes. Turned out well, though.

Wow. Three days in the books. I love school, I really do. My job blesses me in ways that I take for granted. Starting school is a process....but we are almost going smoothly....so we are just about to get in a grove...

But school starting make me want Christmas so bad....not the break....just the season. Cold temps, Christmas decorations...family get-togethers.....football Friday nights...I can't wait....
