Only a bit more zucchini to puree and then I get to blanch green beans - fun stuff! I tend to eat quite a few of them once they have cooled off - so yummy! Going to call it a night on here. I have a lot of stuff I need to take care of if I am going to hang out with my cousin tomorrow - I might even get to see her dad's band play. Yay!

Hey everyone! What a summer it has been. We have had both our families come for visits and it has just now kind of quieted down! Just a few more weeks left of summer then Fall will be here it has coming very fast! I hope everyone is doing great and I have missed all of yall!

It is nice to see you, I was thinking of you when I was away on vacation this week. I was getting worried since we hadn't heard from you in a little while.

We all had their homemade chicken salad sandwich & I had an apple for my side. Dad had their kettle chips, and Mom had chips & salsa. It was delish!

Their garden center is so cute! I need to go back for their Fall mum plants- so pretty!!

And they also have the cutest gifts, many are vintage. I didn't spend any money, I was good for once

Good Thursday morning all. Sorry I haven't been around much. We are busy here. Fall semester has begun at the community college where I work. Our son starts his senior year of high school on Monday, 8/26. We are busy looking at colleges for him and applying for scholarships. (How I wish I could make him 5 years younger.) Most weekends we make the 3 hour drive down to check on my ailing parents. Neither one is doing well. Mom is still determined to go to Myrtle Beach on Labor Day weekend to see the ocean one more time. Hope we can make it happen.

An article in our local newspaper stated that the mountains of western North Carolina were second to Hilo, Hawaii in rainfall for the year in the US. We have already far exceeded our normal rainfall amount for the entire year. I certainly like the cooler temps but the rain has gotten old. Just 5 years ago, our well went dry during a drought. Now we have more rain than we can handle causing several land slides. It is suppose to be a nice weekend with only a slight chance of rain and highs in upper 70s and lows in mid 50s. We hope to be able to stay home and enjoy it.
