Hubby had to drive to Yreka this afternoon and will not be home until 10 or 11 tonight. A friend of mine took me out to Starbuck's and now I am back home ready for bed! I am still so tired. Good night, all. MC, if you can't sleep, just count stitches!!!

I hope you are feeling more peppy soon, Seawaters !!! xo

Good evening, Christmas family !

A brisk and cold day today - just the way January is supposed to be !! Sat in front of the fire tonight for a while with Wish in my arms. I was telling him how much I love him and petting his little face. He seems to be holding his own so far. We got the latest set of blood work back and it is mixed I guess you could say as far as news. The BUN rose to 130, not good. However, the creatinine dropped from 3.4 to 2.4. High normal is 1.86 so not that far off !!

I asked if the BUN being that high would make him sick and the vet told me that usually they ARE really sick when it becomes that elevated. Then he asked me how Wish was acting. I told him Wish is acting his old self !! He DOES NOT act sick AT ALL !!! The vet told me that is really odd but that maybe Wish just didn't read the rules !!

Wish has a WONDERFUL appetite and truly is his old self. His breath has even gotten better - not to be too terribly graphic but his breath was very uroseptic smelling and now it is MUCH better.

The doc also told me the prognosis is likely to be less than six months. If it is, at least I know we both pitched in so that he could have a QUALITY life even in the end. And If the vet is WRONG about the six months and he somehow has longer, I will of course have more time to love him. xo We will just have to see.

Things have been quite rocky around here lately. I won't go into detail here. But I could certainly use a Fortress of Solitude like Superman has to go to...............Wishful thinking, I guess. I just should not have put myself in such a situation.

I am falling asleep as I type so I will say goodnight. xo I hope all have a very, very magical and Christmassy evening.

(((HUGS))) to all ESPECIALLY TO:

Sorry, Knight, I just realized I forgot to include the link to the pictures I've uploaded. Please understand it's a work in progress.

Awesome Brad, I've always loved the camaros. Unfortunately I'm on the free version, so I can't view your pics but good luck with it! My father and I have been working on a 51 mercury for a long time, when we got it, it was a 3 speed manual, no power steering and the original flathead engine in it, all that's been changed now. Anywho... Good luck with the car!

I'm so happy that Wish is doing well! It's good you had an open talk w/ his Vet. And Wish's actions are telling great things. Please give him an extra hug for us. Xo

Thinking of you otherwise, as well! If you want to chat, you know where to find me. Sending hugs. Xo

You are in my thoughts.

I was sort of just perusing around MMC and I noticed that the Member of the month has not been updated. So, who were the November, December and January(13) member of the month winners?

Me, me, and me!!!! LOL!!!!

(I really don't know.)

I'll tell you what, how about you vote for me and I'll vote for you then there will only be only the month of January left and then we can both vote for someone else...

Good luck as you "regroup."

I did it! I did it! I'm just using scrap yarn for now, but I'll hang onto the sample to refer to when I actually make the afghan in the future. I had one too many ripples before "turning back" at the center. The rest of the pattern is incredibly complex to follow. "Sc in unused lp at base of 3rd dc of next cluster ..." Doesn't make much sense until you figure out she just wants you to sc in the bottom point of a ripple, for instance. If you look at what you're working on, you can kinda see where the designer wants you to go. Wish me luck. If I ever succeed in making this for real, it should be a stunner. Holy cow. I dunno what she was drinking when she devised this pattern.

That's great! You'll have to show us all your handywork later on. Oh, by the way, with the weather as cold as it is, I am all nice and toasty sitting in front of the fireplace wrapped up in your Afgan...I'm hap-hap-hap-happy right about now~

Let's see...

Had coffee - check

Watched TV - check

Got on MMC - check

Took a nap - check

Watched TV - check

I did very well, thanks for asking!!!

Seriously? Yes, I got our front room organized. We don't have a garage so that is our "storage room". We keep a lot of our outdoor Christmas decorations and the grandchildren's toys in there. Things were shuffled around and I got it squared away! I also got a cabinet cleaned up and organized and a few other things.

You wear yourself out and are asleep already by the time I get home.:-?

Montana to Taylor 34 seconds left. NOOOOOOO!

Most of the 90's and the early 00's give bad memories for Bengals fans.

I was going to mention "The Catch", but I see CAH already did. I think I mentioned before that I was a Rams fan for several years, so I have been traumatized by Montana way too many times. I was rooting for the Bengals during those Super Bowls. And for the Cowboys when "The Catch" was made.

You could imagine how I felt after, "The Catch"! I actually had a Rubik's Cube in my hand that went across the room and broke. No, I don't have anger issues. Ha ha! It was a reaction when that happened and that toy just happened to be in my hand. I was a teenager at the time and never forgot it but had NO IDEA it would be a historical play that continues to haunt me to this very day! In fact, Wayne and I went out to breakfast last week and they were showing highlights to various games on TV and, oh yeah, they had to go and show that play!!! I grumbled and Wayne just died laughing!

(No one was injured during that frantic moment with the Rubik's Cube). I hated that Rubik's Cube anyway!

As well as I know you I just can't imagine you that mad.

YABBBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HI MADE,,, HI COACH.... ohhh mr. Isherwood,,,,,

Good Morning, Center-of-the-Week Friends.

<< Center? You mean as in 'Pines Center, Crown?? >>

Why, yes. That's exactly what I mean.

Now. Front and center for this important announcement:
Days to the Season: 294
Days to Christmas Day: 336
And so we pass under the 3 week mark to Milestone #2, the one-quarter mark to the Season.
Gee!

Well, the weather service says we are in for an extended cold spell, with the lows below freezing every night and the highs being only about 40.
(Winter is definitely here.)
We have a reading of 21 degrees here at this hour in the capital city.

Now, as stated above we have reached the middle of the week and 'Pines Day open house.
Carl is ready with his usual fun evening, punctuated by those first complimentary Fired Twinkies and your beverage of choice.
I recommend the tea, since there is a whispered (or should I say shispered) rumor floating around that Carl has been experimenting with the coffee again.
Something about nutmeg and sour cream. It's a little unclear.

Regardless, you all have a Wonderful Wednesday now!

Happy 'Pines Day everyone!

We've reached the midweek and are all prepared to return to our traditional meeting spot. As for that nutmeg and sour cream mix, I hope that someone else is the "lucky" one to first try it. Carl might have went out of my range with that one.

Speaking of "cold spells," it was quite the adventure to work this morning. At the time of my departure, the temperature was -33c/-27f. Oh, and with windchill, they were -39c/-38f. Yes, it nearly reached the temperature where Celsius and Fahrenheit meet. It was downright cold. Even with that, I still didn't mind the 10 minutes I spend outside. Call me crazy, but I like the cold. I guess I am Canadian for a reason.

Last night was quiet. Kim went to the movies and I completed my first assignment for my Intermediate Math qualification course. It appears that it will be a lot of work. We'll see how it goes!

Have a great Wednesday, everyone! See you at the 'Pines!

Yum, yum!

Just thinking about steamed brussel sprouts makes my stomach growl
...
in anger.

Don't be angry at the brussel sprouts! cheesy

I was sort of just perusing around MMC and I noticed that the Member of the month has not been updated. So, who were the November, December and January(13) member of the month winners?
I believe there will be one announced for this month. November was missed and December was Founder's Award Winner for our dear, MerryCarey!
You are so knowledgeable !! .....so does vitamin help depression then ?
Thanks but I have the internet and several other people I know who keep me informed, thanks to them! Vitamin D supplement should help if you are feeling depressed and also if you are deficient in it. Most people are during the winter months due to lack of sun. It sure wouldn't hurt to take the supplement if you cannot get natural sunlight. Your doctor can also test to see if you are low on it.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I took off running after work yesterday, trying to get more work done before it got dark. Lulu (our dog) and I rode around in my truck till dark, but we got it done! She loves to ride with her head hanging out the window, so she's become my work partner.

I am glad Wish is proving the doc wrong on how he should feel. Wish is a rebel and wants to feel great! Go Wish!!! Now he can prove him wrong and stay with you much longer! I pray he will.

I will be praying for you in your rocky situation as well.
