Hubby just came in from his shop to fix breakfast. He was working on his car for the Pinewood Derby today. He helped set up the tracks last night at the Elks Lodge and spent some time practicing with his car. He then came home to do some more work on it because it was running too slowly. I hope he beats Tinkerbell again this year. She beat him once and he beat her once. Then he and one of his friends raced in a close race. For lunch, we will help serve the kids hotdogs, all different kinds of salads (macaroni, potato, etc.), chips and dips, and desserts. Our parents are great. When everything is done, they all pitch in and get everything cleaned up in record time. It is really a joy to sponsor such a group.

Good Luck to the hubby!!!!! Somewhere around here I still have my medal from when I won in 6th grade.

This was posted on my facebook: I don't want to brag or make someone jealous, but...I can still fit into the earrings I wore in high school.

I can still fit in the moccasins that I wore while out camping during high school.

Okay, I may have over estimated the amount of empty space in my freezer before going to the store. So who wants to come over for chicken breasts and pork chops?

Good afternoon, all!!

Hope you're having a great Saturday!!

I am doing laundry & watching one of my favorite movies, The Family Stone. It's on the Oxygen network =]

Have a great day!!!

That caught my eye (and my sense of alliteration!) too!

I'm a wassail wanter!

Glad my alliterative annnouncements are appreciated.
<< Just couldn't resist one more, could you, Crown! >>
Well.......

I'll keep trying to come up with new ones (with help from Carl) but at times, I feel like I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel.

(If anyone wants to contribute their alliterative openers, feel free and I'll be sure to credit you!)

Yesterday during Valerie's show I said I would be back in a few minutes.... Nearly 24 later.... I'm back!

I hope I didn't miss any important news because I am not sure if I will be able to catch up.

Here we go again, Wayne and I are back out shopping for bikes. I never followed up with you, MerryCarey, but did you get a lot of use out of your bike after you bought it? I think I have my mind made up on a cruiser bike, they just seem the most comfortable but a mountain bike would be more practical to get through trails if we decide to ride them. Maybe I haven't made up my mind after all! Decisions, decisions! cheesy

The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered.
"Interesting," the newsman thought.
He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now - in her 80's - a funeral director.
The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.
She smiled and explained,
"I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."

Well, we were supposed to get two to three inches of ice last night, but the temps never got low enough. I'm not complaining, ice isn't my favorite!

This weekend, going to do some running around, but it should be fun. Tomorrow, I'm going with my BIL to Little Rock for a quick trip. Wife is feeling under the weather, so she is going to stay home and relax. That will be my plan for Sunday.

As for tonight, I'm about to head to bed and watch tv. Hope everyone had a great day!

I hope she is feeling better, and I am glad you didn't have to deal with the ice.
