Well no creepy movies for me but we are watching the Halloween show marathon on Disney channel.

Thanks, girl!! Rain still here, but the thunder, lightning, and wind has stopped. *Hugs* back to you & Palmer!!

Did you have fun today?

xx

Glad the storms have stopped! Getting closer here ~ should be an interesting night. Yes, I did have fun at the premiere. Love your ornaments! I only had a two dollar coupon and had planned on buying only one ornament but then I saw another one I really liked and got it, also. No new Elvis Costello CD this week. cheesy This is what I bought:

Enjoy the rest-of-your-evening! {{{HUGS}}}

Before I sign off tonight I wanted to say thinking of you Cm3 as always 6 months ago tonight she was taken from us!!! Now she is our Christmas angel. I miss her so much!

My gosh, it does not seem like it has been that long! I kept seeing polar bear items today. Even though I miss the talks we used to have, seeing the bears made me smile as I felt she was there in spirit.

Ouch ... hand me my cane and my teeth, please ...

In our house, a Lon Chaney (Sr.) film is an old horror film.

Wasn't he in the silent Phantom of the Opera? That is an eerie film what with the odd colors. I liked it! I hope the party ends on time and that the enjoyment you get when you watch The Wizard of Oz makes the noise from the band unheard!

It had very odd colors for a silent film! There is one scene I remember where the Phantom is dressed in a skeleton mask and the colors are very vibrant and errie.

Good evening, MMC!

Long day again today. Worked, went to the ornament premiere, grocery shopped and even found a few goodies I can use in the store next time I put out stock. Topped last year's September sales by a good bit, too. Found out that a few of the items that have been there a few months sold - yay! All in all, a very good day!

When I got home I found Palmer beating her teddy bear up. I think she was taking out her rage on my leaving for the day on the poor bear. I'll toss it in the wash and it will be good as new. She slept with it when she was a kitten and now it is her punching bag. She seem to have forgiven me. Do you think it was the tuna fish I bribed her with? cheesy

Picked a small basket of tomatoes and four zucchini. Have never had a garden last this long - so cool! It looks like I will be canning on Monday due to storms tomorrow. I found a recipe for tomato basil jam and decided I had to make at least one batch. The tomatoes on the freezer are ripening fast and there is enough for the jam and some more chipotle sauce. Normally I freeze the sauces but, there is not enough room for that and the meat bought today. Tomorrow I get to rearrange items in the freezer. Might as well plan some meals while I am at, too.

My knee is feeling better - have been resting it for the past few hours. Time to go do a few chores and listen to the rest of the Greasy Skillet.

MERRY dreams!!! Stay safe, too!

Im sorry after I wrote that it kind of made me feel old too! We are actually about to watch an old favorite Betty Davis movie from the 50's called "Hush hush sweet Charlotte" now that would classify as an older horror/suspense film!!!

That's okay! I had to kid you a bit.

Yep, he was the original Phantom in the movies.

We watched the end of the ball game---Sox won again! Now we're watching a Burns and Allen movie.

That scene was shot in two-color Technicolor (before the three-strip process was developed). A special process in the scene on the roof added some color to the Phantom. If you get the Kino DVD, you can see the effect. In the rest of the film, scenes were tinted various colors by a dye bath. ALL silent films were originally tinted that way, but today we often see only black-and-white prints.

Thanks, buddy!!! They had a bigger Santa on Ski's for just a few dollars more but he was more cartoony looking. I loved this one because he is a more realistic looking.

They had a Santa in a sleigh yesterday that I really liked but they were all gone today. So I got the one that looks like a Santa faced carved into a log. He was the last one of those they had too. He actually has a little scuff on him on the very back of one side that you can't really see. They gave him to me for $6 dollars though instead of the $15 they had on him. So that's probably how much they paid for him. I just wish I knew where they got them at.

Palmer loves you so much, I'm sure all is forgiven! But the tuna was a nice touch ;) I'm sure it helped things along!!

Glad your knee is feeling better

Ugh ... someone a few streets over is having an outdoor party complete with a (not-too-good) band. The perpetrator ... excuse me, the host ... left notes in all the mailboxes to let us know they would be having the party tonight. I guess so no one would call the police. The band is supposed to play for another 3 hours, and the party goes on for another 4 hours. Oh, lordy ... I guess we'll put on a video or a movie and play it loud.

Got the Blu-ray of "The Wizard of Oz," but haven't had a chance to check it out yet.

At least they were courteous enough to leave a note. Sorry the band isn't that good.
