Good afternoon everyone!

Day two of the first full week of February and we're only a week away from reaching the one quarter mark to the Christmas Season. Quite the accomplishment already!

Not much is new here. My week became more busy yesterday. I received a call for an interview for a Program Officer position with the Ottawa Carleton Ultimate Association. I'm excited. I really need to perform well at this interview. Aside from education, I think getting into the sports field would be my best interest. I am really starting to pursue it hard. Of course, having played competitive Ultimate since 2006, a job with OCUA would be incredible. Wish me luck!!

Other than the interview tomorrow evening, I have a couple of assignments to complete for my class as well as the usual working out and other things. I hope everyone has been having a great week so far. The 'Pines should be in full swing tomorrow! Have a great Tuesday!

Good luck at your interview, Brent!!

It's national pancake day and world nutella day, so guess what I'm making for dinner!!!!

What time should we be there?! ;)

Hello everyone. Things have been busy, so I haven't been able to read the posts and see what's going on with everyone. I am excited about the Christmas Movie Festival though! I just saw the announcement. I love Christmas, love movies, so it's a win/win! Hope you all are doing great and happy Tuesday.

Howdy everyone! :hi:

I painted almost every bit of that swing yesterday with just a few spots to go but I ran out of paint. Plan on buying some more today. Guess what? Now my swing is sitting out in the rain "drying"! Ha ha! I guess I should have checked the weather because I could have set it under the porch awning if I knew that. It will be okay. It should have been dried before it rained but now I have to wait for the water to completely dry before I can finish painting it.

Sorry I'm a slacker on here! It's going to be a very busy day today so I will try to catch up on here later.

Have the most Merriest Day Ever!!!

I would have done the same thing !!! xo

I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

(After getting only 3 hours of sleep that's all I had the energy to type.)

Ugh !!! I have had to get on and type at my job with only a few hours and it just stinks !! Hope you get some rest !! xo

Hey merrymistletoe!!

How are you guys?

We are doing good, thanks! Har is having fun in the snow ;) We are settled in, and loving our place & the neighborhood. It's so nice to see your neighbors out & about, and have them wave just to be friendly. And Adrian & I are having fun getting to know the town better.

I bet you've been busy getting ready for Valentine's Day at the flower shop!

Xo

That's wonderful that you are getting greeted by some of your neighbors !!!! I bet that little girl is ADORABLE in the snow - She is adorable all the time !! xo

I would love to come along and feed the ducks too !!! - Hope you are feeling better xo

Choice would be good. When I had the chemo-port put in, the doctor asked me what kind of music I wanted and I chose Christmas. When I woke up, the Christmas music was still playing. I asked him if they turned it off after they put me to sleep and then back on just before I woke up, but he said no!!!

Well, that was really nice of them !!!! xo Imagine, a KIND doctor, AMAZING....

Ain't that the truth? I am sure, though, that it was needed. I would also be willing to bet that someone lower on the pole had suggested it a long time ago. Of course it wasn't a priority then!!! I see that (oops, SAW that) a lot. For example, I was a proponent of having locked classroom doors all day long for over 20 years. We were told we could lock the doors, BUT we would have to have a door block on (a thingy that wraps around the door handles) so the door would stay ajar. Then with the shootings in Sandy Hook, we were given the option of locking and fully closing the door or of locking and using the door block. Some things just don't make sense!

It seems it is always to little too late.......

Me, too. I have my Christmas CDs in the car. During the school year, I had the computer on cued to MCR. I would play Christmas music in the background and would turn it up when the kids were not in class.

I just purchased an album for my iPad.. A Charlie Byrd Christmas. He was an AMAZING, AMAZING guitarist. I was looking for an old album I only have on vinyl called A Nonesuch Christmas, it is Christmas music from the Renaissance and it is beautiful !!! Lutes and recorders, just lovely. Unfortunately I can't find it ANYWHERE......

It is overcast and a little chilly this morning in northern California. I am going to work on organization today. One of the things I will do this week is to type up info on what I have learned about retirement, Social Security, and Medicare. I will post it when I have finished so that if anyone here needs it, all will have access to it. I don't want anyone to be as frustrated as I was.

I wish you could hear the "holding" music I had to listen to, but you would have to enter too much info to get to the "speak to an agent" line. So sad I cannot share such a (NOT) wonderful resource! LOL!

That is so nice of you !!! I will need it eventually !!!

I really was not into baseball, but my dad loved to watch it and listen to it on the radio. And I loved spending time with him, so the Yankees became "my" team, too! Now college basketball is another matter. I am sure you realize that, being from NC yourself! I remember listening to that on the radio in '64 and '65 especially. Loved hearing the East Coast teams play. I am a dyed-in-the wool Duke fan but loved the others, too, especially when they were not playing Duke.

My dad always watched The Cleveland Indians every year (being from Ohio !) I have watched them but they are always so terrible anymore....
