I still remember the last Nor'easter I experienced before moving to Texas. It happened right around Presidents' Day. We got about 3 feet in Maryland. My step-father had a pick up with a plow, but instead of pushing it away from the house, he pushed it toward the house. I asked him how we were going to get in and out of the house. So I dug a trail from the front door across the yard to the driveway. I called the mountain of snow "Winters' Mountain" (his last name is Winters) and my path was dubbed "Beckwith Valley".
Our cat has been going strong on the pills we give twice a day. The doctor said everything looks fine and we will wait on two tests. He gave her a shot and she came home feisty!!!
Sorry! Made was suppose to help me and Seawaters never showed up with the jet. That's my excuse and I am sticking with it!
I'm so glad Baby is looking fine!
Need Coffee!!!!
Who is ready for the Greasy Skillet tonight?!
Hi Meceka!!!!! We miss seeing you everyday!!!
Thanks, Meceka. It is always great to see you. How is your computer doing?
I agree, we do miss seeing you, Meceka!!!
You mean coffee!!! Your coffee was falling asleep. =)
Nothing much new to report. Looks like we got around 20 inches, more or less---it's hard to tell because of the drifting. About knee-deep in the driveway (but Mr. shoveled a few inches off the driveway before the deep snow fell), and waist-high drifts in the backyard. We don't have a snow-blower, and shoveling the driveway looks impossible, but if our plow guy doesn't get here before tomorrow afternoon, we're going to have to try to dig a pathway out for at least one of the cars.
Here's our cars in the driveway:

I am the luckiest man in the world. Tonight I get to escort two beautiful girls to the daddy/daughter dance. They have already picked out their dresses and mommy plans to pull their hair up into some kind of girly/prissy configuration. The corsages are waiting for me at the florist.
This is the fourth year for me doing this and the funniest thing about it is knowing the restuarant down the hall is standing room only of all the moms who just cant stand to be left at home while their husbands and daughters enjoy a night of dancing. The dads get a kick at watching their heads peering in to see how it is going.
We are getting ready to head for Mass. Our new priest, Father Ventura, starts tonight. He studied in Rome, has four degrees, and speaks English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. I think he will end up being our next bishop. TTYL
Good evening, MMC!
I hope this finds everyone well, safe and warm, too!
xmas and MerryCarey - so glad to see you both are posting. That is a lot of snow!
We ended up with six inches or so Thursday/Friday in my area - there were reports of upwards of a foot or more closer to the Bay and Lake Huron. The driveway is all shoveled out - no snow maze for me, but there are a few trails for the cats to follow. Bottle showed up the other day and so did an even bigger cat. He looks to be twice the size of my largest cat, Elsa. The new cat is a grey and white tabby - adorable! Shaggy got loose yesterday - he is so big he climbs up the side of the porch - no stairs for him. He is such a goofball! He escorted me back to his dog house and let himself be put back on the chain with nary a fuss. I don't like having him on a chain, but he is part wolf. There is no way he would survive in the house. He sleeps outside of his house in rain, sleet and snow. The only time he uses the house is when it is 10 or more below zero and in the summer when it is too hot out.
Mouse seems a bit off of late - I hope it is just because it has been colder the past few weeks. As I type this, Palmer is on a box under the chair I am sitting on - she is helping me The girls have actually been getting along fairly well for the past few days - yay!!!
It has been a very busy week for me. To top it off, the furnace is still not working right. My neighbor has been down here several times and replaced a few things and cleaned the burners, but can't figure out what is wrong. The new igniter he installed has already partially shorted out, too. We are supposed to check the code when it fails to stay lit, but a code hasn't flashed yet. Usually by the time we get downstairs, the furnace reignites and is fine. It is very frustrating, but at least there is still heat. I'm not sure how it is working, but it is - yay!!! I really do not want to see the bill when all is said and done, though!
Time to return the computer.
Have a MERRY evening!!!!
