Good morning, everybody! Hope you enjoyed your Friday night. I'm jealous that we don't have any snow, but I wouldn't want to be without power. I hope you are all ok and don't get too cold.

My agenda for today included doing a little work...maybe a little house cleaning....and going to a hunting show with the in laws and family. Then out to eat for the wifey's birthday....

Have a good one!

Will catch up with reading posts later, just wanted to check in. We lost power for a few hours overnight, but got it back around 7 a.m., so we're warm and safe. The storm is winding down, but we have a few inches coming yet. Mr. went out to shovel---it was very difficult for him to shove the door open a few inches against the snow. Front and back door have knee-high-plus snow across them. I'll go out later to take pictures when the doors are passable. Public transportation will not be running today, and the driving ban is expected to remain in effect all day. The drifts are incredible. I don't know how much we got because of the drifting.

xmas365 and all New Englanders, I hope you're warm and safe. Looks like today will be shoveling and movies. Nobody's going anywhere for a while.

So good to hear from you!! Glad you got your power back. Enjoy your movies & time with Mr., and take good care of yourselves. xx

Wayne and I had been planning all week to ride our bikes today but we both have a cold. Nothing major but just not feeling 100%. We slept in, just woke up about 15 minutes ago. We will see how we feel after we get some coffee and breakfast. No matter what, we will make the best of it and have a good day together!!!

The coverage on the Weather channel are unbelievable with all the snow! We are still praying for those that are dealing with this situation!

Here's hoping you and Wayne feel better soon ! xoxo

It's a bright, bright, bright sunshiney day here in northern California, and a little nippy to boot! I hope all of you in the blizzards are keeping warm and safe. Take care and TTYL

I am the luckiest man in the world. Tonight I get to escort two beautiful girls to the daddy/daughter dance. They have already picked out their dresses and mommy plans to pull their hair up into some kind of girly/prissy configuration. The corsages are waiting for me at the florist.

This is the fourth year for me doing this and the funniest thing about it is knowing the restuarant down the hall is standing room only of all the moms who just cant stand to be left at home while their husbands and daughters enjoy a night of dancing. The dads get a kick at watching their heads peering in to see how it is going.

Have a great time, Murphman!! Don't forget pictures!

Nothing much new to report. Looks like we got around 20 inches, more or less---it's hard to tell because of the drifting. About knee-deep in the driveway (but Mr. shoveled a few inches off the driveway before the deep snow fell), and waist-high drifts in the backyard. We don't have a snow-blower, and shoveling the driveway looks impossible, but if our plow guy doesn't get here before tomorrow afternoon, we're going to have to try to dig a pathway out for at least one of the cars.

Here's our cars in the driveway:

I've been a Braves fan since 1966. Growing up the Braves were the only games I could get on the radio. TV only had the Saturday game of the week so radio was the way to follow baseball closely. Baseball is a perfect sport for radio. Later, I could watch the Braves games all over the country on TBS. We lived in Dallas for 6 years and I traveled a lot for work so it was great to still watch all their games.

I listen to Dodger games just to hear Vince Scully. He is easily the greatest baseball broadcaster ever. He has been broadcasting the Dodgers since 1952 when they were still in Brooklyn.

I have never heard Vince Scully broadcast a game. To me the greatest baseball broadcaster ever was the one and only Ernie Harwell, the Detroit Tiger's announcer I grew up listening to. He was the voice of summer!
