For you guinea pig fans---have you seen the 2013 Guinea Pig Games calendar? It has photos of guinea pigs participating in Olympic-type games. This article online has some hilarious photos of 'pigs biking, hurdling, swimming, etc. Pretty cute!

I was never bitten by any of my guinea pigs, but they liked to lick my fingers now and then.

Sorry to hear about the macaw, we hand rear birds and keep all kinds, and i can tell you that i have seen the healthest bird fall of the perch, was it doing anything different not that i ever leaned it in my vet nurse training as lots of vets no very little about parrots, i had to talke a course to rear birds wondering did she notice any thing difference in its droppings there is ways of telling from that, as well maybe it eat something it should not have. its a hard one as a bird will hide its sickness , its comes from the wild thing in them (other animals wood pick on a sick bird in the wild) so its so hard to tell, like they do take heart attacks and they take a few bad diseases to which unless you know the signs they are hard to heal, as well it could have had a calicum def birds can not hold it long and given done can result in probelms again,
At first I didn't want to bring this "downer story" to the Countdown but glad I did. It helps to hear from others so I can help the customers. I will pass this along to her when I see her again. At first we thought it could have been some type of fumes but she has another Macaw at home that is still healthy and happy! If it was fumes they would both be gone. I did tell her he could have been ill and about how they hide their illness to protect themselves in the wild. I also said it might have been born with some type of defect that she wasn't aware of. I didn't think about the droppings but maybe my boss asked her about it when I got busy with other stuff. Thanks for the info!

Just enough time to pop in, give a few thanks and wish you all a wonderful week.

Good afternoon, everyone! I hope you enjoyed Epiphany yesterday. We had everything outside lit up for the last time, and had Three Kings Pasta (It's just really penne pasta and alfredo sauce with onions and mushrooms). Now to relax and enjoy the inside decorations for a little bit before we take them down.

I am taking the advice from many to just rest today so I can heal but I have been in my jammys all morning and just downright bored! I am going to get up and do some cleaning. Such a rebel!

I am going to miss being able to pop in during the day! I know for sure that I won't be staying late after school. It will just be too tiring! GO Notre Dame!!! TTYL

You are one of my fav people on the planet...but Notre Dame? Alright if you must haha.

@Sheila....I am sorry about Your hard day at work....I would have cried with the woman, too...and would also never be able to work at a vet´s.....when I was young I even wanted to become a vet.....heck no....I could never put an animal down...even tho I know it is taking their pain away and just sending them over the rainbow bridge to wait for us....but I just could not do it....never

Just dropping in to say a quick hello.

I read about the sadness in your town Shellie. I am so sorry! Suicide is always so awful for everyone left behind. So many "what if's" - I'll keep you all in my prayers.

Friends are coming over tonight for stitch & b*tch! We are going to work on craft projects (afghan for me) & chit chat & have snacks & drinks. Looking forward to it.

Hope you all have a fun weekend planned. I have to fly...cleaning to do...

Quick note before I go...2 days ago when I last logged on, we were on page 37... now it's 65!!! What a bunch of chatty people!!! LOVE IT!!!

Holiday, I love the name of your craft group! I'm almost halfway behind on the posts and I was only gone for about 72 hours ~ I love it, too! Have a MERRY day!

Oh Merry, this is SUCH an unpleasant bunch of business...I am so sorrry you are going through this and HAVE been going through this...xo

I am sorry you are going through all of this, too, Merry. I hope today finds things a lot better for you!

I hear you! Our computer modem went on the fritz yesterday. Talk about withdrawals!!! Hubby drove to Chico today to buy another one. Finally, we are back in business!

Yay! I'm glad you got your new modem.

Good Monday morning everyone.

Sorry I have been away so long. It has been a stressful few weeks. Both of my parents have spent time in the hospital. Mom spent 3 weeks in the hospital. Both are home now. Dad is doing ok. Mom is terminal. She has good days and bad days. The past few have been good. She insisted on taking care of both their funeral arrangements so we did that last Friday. She keeps fighting and looking ahead.

Thanks to everyone for all your prayers. Have a blessed day everyone.

Sorry you have a lot on your plate right now , but hopefully both will be about for a while yet with mininum pain

Sit back down!!!!! We need you healthy!!

I think I am going to either watch a Christmas movie or read a Christmas book. Right now I have Music Choice on (by the way, I got a reply stating they could not have all Christmas music until they are able to expand their channels or something like that :-o)

I have to wake Wish up in a few seconds to give him his cardiac meds which I hate doing. I would rather let him sleep, poor little sweet guy.

Here is a recent picture of my dear angel.......He is with his sister, Clancy here xo You may have to click on it to see him better xo

Sweet dreams of sugarplums and Christmas trees and angels everyone !! xoxoxo
