Everyone is making me depressed! This is why I am not a fan of New Years Eve or New Years. I am selfish and think of all of the time from mid November to the beginning of January as strictly for Christmas. I can't believe the time has passed already and we'll all be taking our decorations down. It something that I hate to do. It's much more fun to plug in the lights and decorate my tree compared to taking it all down.

Am the same i think that is why i dont like new years night , its kinda the end and its nothing to celebrate

Time for some TV, my friends. I have not had a good two days. Not able to eat and just feeling blah. We went out last night, but all I ordered was English muffin and only ate half. I feel so tired and just can't shake it! TTYT
Hope you feel a bit better today seawaters christmas can be tiring on you

Back to work ggrrr. Taking the decorations down tonight and the diet has started. Might as well get them all in at once since I'm depressed anyway. Hope you feel better Seawaters.

Good Morning, My Friends!.
Crown here back in the saddle and ready to resume Countdown duties.

OK. Up and at 'em and read the count.....for a nice surprise!

Days to the Season: 315
Days to Christmas Day: 357

<< Well, what's the surprise, Crown? >>

Just look how close we are to our first Milestone!
It's the 300-day Season Window and it arrives just TWO weeks from tomorrow!
(Take that, post-Christmas blues.)

And if that isn't enough, consider that we will be at the ONE QUARTER mark to the Season just 26 days after the 300-day Window opens!
(Feeling better now?)

Chilly and rainy all day yesterday.
Should be just as cold today but hopefully drier later in the day, which will certainly help.
Currently, we show 46 degrees here in the capital city with a light drizzle.

Have a Wonderful first Wednesday of 2013, Folks!

I just had my first PCB related meltdown, tucking in my boys for bed, they go back to school, and the love of my life goes back to work. I started crying because I don't want them to go back. I still have 2 more days left of my vacation. First Christmas being over, and now my family heads back to the real world. There is only so much a certified Christmas nut can handle after the holidays.

We're here for you!

Keep something Christmassy up in your room all year long, I have a small leg lamp as my bedside light. I have a few Christmas books close by when I need them to just get me through the long year.

I do too, as well. I have lots of Christmas books on my iPad and keep them whenever I need that extra Christmas boost.

guess I picked the wrong night to have insomnia huh? This could not have possibly happened the night Darlene Love was on or even last night ringing in the new year.. I guess I will post in the fun and games section.lol

I know what you mean. I always fall asleep on the nights that I would like to spend time on here or with my family, but yet, when I am home by myself, I can never falls asleep.

Well. Well. Well.

Happy New Year to all! My Wife and I went to bed before midnight! lol. Oh well. New Years isn't that big in this house. We had a wonderful busy Christmas. I'm not ready to have it end so it wont! Heh. I have the Christmas music still going in my car and home. The tree is up and lit right now and the house is still festive. I'm going to see how long I can get away with it! Why not! The neighbors still have all their stuff up and on. I love it! William loved his gifts. He keeps saying "Daddy, I love my gifts!". We did a good job this year. I hope everyone else had a good one too. Don't get the blues people. If you do we still have HERE! I found a pine yankee candle at Halmark for 12 bucks! YAY! I get excited when I find the Christmas scents. We are all recovering from a virus that has been pretty bad this year. Flu like symptoms but not the flu. You know what I don't like? When radio stations stop right away on December 26th with Christmas music. It should go through till the first week of January. Well, that's what I think. Hope everyone has a good evening!

Glad you guys are starting to feel better. I totally agree withy you about the music. They did that here, too. I feel you're getting together with your family and such and It's nice to play music. I would have loved to have had that. I had my tv and my iPhone/iPad, but it's sometimes nice to just switch on the radio.

Nice to see you Undrtakr !! I agree. The "real world" gets rid of Christmas practically as soon as it is over. I don't think it would hurt anything to extend movies and such through the first week of January. I personally think Music Choice should have a station that is Christmas music 24/7, 365 days a year. :-D

Yes! I would love cable to have a 24/7 Christmas movie station.

I DVRed a lot of Christmas movies and stuff for the kids this year, so I figure whenever I want to watch or they want to, we will, no matter if it is in June or not!

Yes. The radio is nice to have with Christmas music. Good thing I have my converter and can listen to it in the car, or I would go crazy! Nothing like listening to Christmas music on the off season (well...off season for GRINCHES hehe) and having jo blow listening to regular boring music in the car beside me hehe.

Good morning, MMC! Hope you are all having a great day so far and a wonderful New Years Day yesterday.

What are all of you up today? I know most of you are back to work. I go back to work tonight, work tomorrow night, then am off for the weekend. It makes for not a bad schedule this week at all. DH works the two nights I am at work, too, so it makes it nice.

I see some of you are mentioning about taking your decorations down already. We will be taking ours down on Sunday, which is the Epiphany and the end of the Christmas season. It will make it perfect this year, since we will both be off too.

I don't have a whole lot planned for today. I am just going to do some laundry and spend some time with DH and the kids.

Hope you all have a great day. Christmas may be over, but let the light always shine in us! We all have each other, just remember that. God Bless and keep smiling! Praying for all of you, your families, and furbabies!

You know, we suffer the blues so much because Christmas people are just very sentimental types. We cherish family so much and Christmas is the only time of the year that most people are off work. I know when I get with family during Christmas and Thanksgiving we "talk" about getting together more often through the year but it just don't happen! I hate that but everyone has a busy schedule and we just cannot seem to get off work at the same time. I see my parents and grandchildren every single day but my daughter is a teacher and I chat with her all the time but really don't get a lot of time to hang out with her. With the rest of the family, it's usually just visiting on Thanksgiving and Christmas only.

Sorry for rambling but us sentimental people just don't want to let go of Christmas!!!

I actually feel okay since joining these forums but I understand what you all are going through! I been there before! I feel just a little blah but I'm okay.

I hope you (and everyone else) feel better soon!!!

Hello everyone :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR too...

In the next few days, it'll be time to take down the trees and pack away the decorations. It'll be too sad to listen to Christmas music while doing that. Any ideas what would be more cheerful listening while doing that chore? There's no music I like as we'll as Christmas music, but I have to put it away until I'm back in non-holidays mode.
Maybe listen to a funny movie while putting things away? Or some type of comedy skit? Something cheerful and funny just might help!
I don't think I usually listen to anything when I do it, I do it in silence so I can focus on getting everything down quickly. I am dreading listening to my regular music at this point. 2 straight months of nothing but Christmas music has spoiled me. I know I will be back to listening to The Move, The Beatles and so on but right now I still just want to hear Bing, Nat, and so on.
I am about to get all my Beatles music and all my Paul McCartney concert DVD's out and start jamming! :D

Exactly, a cold lake!!! I am hoping since its a short week that it won't be so bad. I did see that "Sounds of the Season," TV channel is still going until Jan 6th. A few more days of Christmas music is okay with me. :)

Yes, thank goodness for the short week. I kept thinking like today is Monday, but it's Wednesday (and Pinesday!)---the last short week of the holiday season. So in reality the full-time grind doesn't begin until Monday. But the decorations will be drifting back into their boxes this week and weekend, so it'll be a little blue. It makes me a little sad to leave them up past the first week in January.
