I only read a few post, all 3 of my grandchildren just got here so I will try to catch up later.
We plan to have a busy fun day!!!
We plan to have a busy fun day!!!
Just look how close we are to our first Milestone!
It's the 300-day Season Window and it arrives just TWO weeks from tomorrow!
(Take that, post-Christmas blues.)
And if that isn't enough, consider that we will be at the ONE QUARTER mark to the Season just 26 days after the 300-day Window opens!
(Feeling better now?)
I sure could sleep in one more day....
Maybe listen to a funny movie while putting things away? Or some type of comedy skit? Something cheerful and funny just might help!
You know, we suffer the blues so much because Christmas people are just very sentimental types. We cherish family so much and Christmas is the only time of the year that most people are off work. I know when I get with family during Christmas and Thanksgiving we "talk" about getting together more often through the year but it just don't happen! I hate that but everyone has a busy schedule and we just cannot seem to get off work at the same time. I see my parents and grandchildren every single day but my daughter is a teacher and I chat with her all the time but really don't get a lot of time to hang out with her. With the rest of the family, it's usually just visiting on Thanksgiving and Christmas only.
Sorry for rambling but us sentimental people just don't want to let go of Christmas!!!
I actually feel okay since joining these forums but I understand what you all are going through! I been there before! I feel just a little blah but I'm okay.
I hope you (and everyone else) feel better soon!!!
Hello everyone
HAPPY NEW YEAR too...
Yes, thank goodness for the short week. I kept thinking like today is Monday, but it's Wednesday (and Pinesday!)---the last short week of the holiday season. So in reality the full-time grind doesn't begin until Monday. But the decorations will be drifting back into their boxes this week and weekend, so it'll be a little blue. It makes me a little sad to leave them up past the first week in January.

It's traditional good-luck food, at least in south GA. I love sauerkraut, too!is that a traditional thing to eat over in your area......
we have a similar thing here in germany....or at least in some parts....and what other could be in Germany than
SAUERKRAUT..........we usually ate with Würstchen....it dont know if it brings luck....or money....either one is always good....usually after midnight....i have not eaten it this or the year before or three years before.....maybe i should pick up the tradition next new years.....maybe it will help
Oh and for those that are getting the Christmas blues, Carl has done something special! Heck its special for everyone! He is pulling an after Christmas, Christmas party! Complete with egg nog and the Christmas vacation moose mugs. He has Christmas movies running all day and the music is cranked. Hot chocolate, candy cane chocolate and more!
Well. Well. Well.
Happy New Year to all! My Wife and I went to bed before midnight! lol. Oh well. New Years isn't that big in this house. We had a wonderful busy Christmas. I'm not ready to have it end so it wont! Heh. I have the Christmas music still going in my car and home. The tree is up and lit right now and the house is still festive. I'm going to see how long I can get away with it! Why not! The neighbors still have all their stuff up and on. I love it! William loved his gifts. He keeps saying "Daddy, I love my gifts!". We did a good job this year. I hope everyone else had a good one too. Don't get the blues people. If you do we still have HERE! I found a pine yankee candle at Halmark for 12 bucks! YAY! I get excited when I find the Christmas scents. We are all recovering from a virus that has been pretty bad this year. Flu like symptoms but not the flu. You know what I don't like? When radio stations stop right away on December 26th with Christmas music. It should go through till the first week of January. Well, that's what I think. Hope everyone has a good evening!
Hey friendshappy new year! We are in Ames, Iowa. Wisconsin tomorrow!! Miss you guys. Hope all is well, Keeping you all my thoughts.
Sending lots of love!!

I try and keep as much up as i can but with the shop i take a bit down each day to after the 6th as i do think its unlucky but i wood need a week to take all the in door and outdoor down in one go and store away, and i just cant do that with the shop ,Good morning, MMC! Hope you are all having a great day so far and a wonderful New Years Day yesterday.
I see some of you are mentioning about taking your decorations down already. We will be taking ours down on Sunday, which is the Epiphany and the end of the Christmas season. It will make it perfect this year, since we will both be off too.

I am feeling so down in the dumps right now. I don't want to go to sleep tonight b/c I don't want to miss a minute of the remainder of Hallmark Christmas movies....though I know staying up all night is not an option. Back to work tomorrow.... and that makes me say "UGH"! too! I am dreading turning on the tv to see...no Christmas!! Booo!!! We had friends over today for our annual NYD party....it was so fun & then when they leave the "it's all over" feeling really starts to set in! I know in a few weeks the Christmas blues will be all behind us & things will be "normal" again...but for now I'm feeling blah. Thankfully we have a short work week this week!!!!
