Good Morning, First Weekend Eve Friends.

Indeed.
We have cycled back again to the final day of the work week and stand on the threshhold of the first weekend of 2013.

What else do we stand on the threshhold of?
Well:
Days to the Season: 313
Days to Christmas Day: 355

These numbers seem insurmountable right now.

Last night after I got home from work, I knew the gals in the family were planning on going out shopping, so my son and I went out to dinner. Nothing special, we down to the local VFW post that I am a life member at (you can get a complete dinner; say a half a chicken with 2 sides for 6.95; what a bargain) and we just sat and talked for awhile.

When we got home, I got out of the truck and stopped and looked around the neighborhood and my home was the only house (for as far as I could see), that still had their Christmas lights on. I shook my head and went into the house with a sad feeling and a thought to myself, that I was a shame that so many people cannot wait untill they can take their lights down.

I sometimes feel that the true meaning of Christmas has long been forgotten, repalced with just the necessity of buying and receiving gifts, and in some cases, thinking of only themselves.... I do realize that time is marching on into the month of January, and it does cost additional money to leave the lights on longer (I truely understand and expect a utility bill of 600.00 in the mail). But I myself, want to hold onto Christmas for as long as I can and if I can express my love for something in such a manner, then I ask this; "Is it worth it?" To me, it is.....

Hold onto Christmas as long as you want, I would leave to keep my lights up as long as possible, but like I have said Jan. 8 is my shut off date outside. They will stay on inside until everything comes down.

Here is a song for you for the words in bold.

After reading Snowflake's post, I, too, have been thinking of you all. I truly appreciate all of you and your friendship. Here's to the beginning of a new year! Praying for all who are ill, for all the furkids, and for all who are going through PCB. Please take care, dear friends.

Awwww...We all love you, Seawaters xoxo

I know I have taken pictures of this tree in the past but it never came out as well as the one taken on The Galleria Mall's facebook page. It's the country's tallest indoor Christmas Tree and Wayne and I go every Black Friday to watch the ice skating show. This year we were in San Antonio on Black Friday but we did go to one of the shows on a Saturday in December. We go to this mall throughout the year as well. I thought this picture was impressive so I thought I would share. If you notice the 4 floors crowded with people? Yes, it's this crowded every year for the show. We usually get there a couple of hours early to grab a spot or you miss out!

That is beautiful, all we get to look at, at the mall is people eating. cheesy

Ok question for everyone . In the spirit of the past years song a day thread which I thought was awesome it got me thinking would it be possible to do a reasons I love christmas. I could name off a bunch no problem but could it be done for say a 300 day countdown ?? It would be tough toward the end I think but it seems like it could be a fun experiment . Any thoughts????

Go for it!!!

We have something similar to that started by CM3 a few years ago.

Since I had no computer access, I went to Starbucks this morning. I had a nice comfy seat but was informed that if Binger showed up and wanted the chair, I would have to move!!! That Binger is well-known in the coffee world!

Is that well known or well feared? cheesy

I think I am going to either watch a Christmas movie or read a Christmas book. Right now I have Music Choice on (by the way, I got a reply stating they could not have all Christmas music until they are able to expand their channels or something like that :-o)

I have to wake Wish up in a few seconds to give him his cardiac meds which I hate doing. I would rather let him sleep, poor little sweet guy.

Here is a recent picture of my dear angel.......He is with his sister, Clancy here xo You may have to click on it to see him better xo

Sweet dreams of sugarplums and Christmas trees and angels everyone !! xoxoxo

Poor guy. Snowball is in my thoughts & prayers, dawg.

Glad to hear that you are starting to get settled!! If you need any help I'll gladly send CAH over after she gets my dishes done today.

Thank you, Made!! Aww, I'd love for her to come by!! I have lots of coffee here, I'll start the Keurig =]

My wife just called me and told me that she is sick! Oh no..... you know what that means, as Linus said in It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, "I'm doomed!...."

Hope she is feeling better, xmastidings!! There is so much going around.

Real life is back ... I'm trying to get documentation that will allow me to fly back home with Dad's ashes to Maryland for burial. I don't have the required documentation because the embezzling executor who had to be removed didn't pass it along to the current executor. I have to get a lawyer to try to get it for me. Hoping this will be a fairly easy request, so we can all finally put this fiasco behind us and lay him to rest back home.

At least it's Friday! I'll try to put this out of my mind over the weekend.

You in my thoughts & prayers, MerryCarey. xx

Did you see me waving as you drove by??? :hi:

I did!! Har & I were waving back!!!

What a beautiful Christmas tree, CAH. I would definitely go back before they take it down. Have fun =)

Sounds like fun! Can I come over and play too???

You are just too kind, Made!

It was wonderful hearing from you. So glad that you are home and getting settled. I truly enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for thinking of us all. I have been thinking of you throughout your trip. I love that drive. Take care, get some rest, kiss Harlowe, and enjoy yourself. Do you have snow?

Thank you, Seawaters. And thank you for thinking of me! I wish you could've been on that drive w/ me =]
Yes, we have snow & cold temps! Just what I was hoping for!! Although, it's true what they say about your blood thinning out, I am one big wuss now cheesy I love seeing Harlowe jump in the snow. She didn't like it at first, but seems to be adjusting pretty well. The hard part is getting her to go on command when we go out, especially at night...brrr! It's 15 degrees now, and was 10 degrees when we got in Tuesday afternoon. We've had flurries the past couple of days, but it hasn't accumulated much. But, there is still lots of snow on the ground from the blizzard right before Christmas.

How are you feeling? Do you go back to school on Monday? xo

Good evening, Christmas family

A nice day today. Took off work (I am going to make at least part of it up tomorrow) and we went grocery shopping, stopped at the vet for more Lactated Ringers and more needles, and had breakfast at Bob Evans. It was cold but that is how January is SUPPOSED to be here.

Wish is doing well. We bought him different food today and he really seems to like it. Before I feed him though I have to sprinkle this powder on his food which is a phosphorus binder. I guess phosphorus can cause quite a problem with kidney disease. Plus we had to make sure the food was below 20% protein. We put him on canned Science Diet for senior adults, only 4% protein !

I am just so blessed to have him still with me. I know that could all change in a millisecond but I am hoping......

We will have blood work done either at the end of next week or beginning of the next to see how his kidney panel is (BUN, creatinine, etc). I am hoping and praying his BUN is closer to normal (30). It was 129 when he was admitted and 69 when he was discharged.

I put my advent calendars away today and it wasn't too bad. I still have my tree up. That is going to be the tough one.

I know there are many here at MMC who are sick - I am praying you all feel better.

Dawg - A special prayer for poor Snowball.....I HATE when animals get sick - They can't tell you where it hurts, xo.

Seawaters - Hope you are feeling better xo

I have now lost nearly all the weight I set out to. I have lost 20 pounds and just have 2.5 to go !!!!

I hope all have a very Christmassy magic evening and special (((HUGS)))) to:

Ella, Harlowe, Snowball, Gomez, Ophelia, Sidney, Alex, Merlin, Snickers, Victor, Daisy, Diva, Mickey, Palmer, Mouse, Bo, Chico, Meca, Alvin, Charlie, Gary, Bailey, Jerrold, Irving, Martha, Uncle Julio, Missy, Scooby, Sasha, Jacob, Cracker, Bunny B, Penny, Pocket, LuLu, Bear-Bear, Stripey, Holly, Fate Puppy (London,) Buster, Missy, Baby, Santa's Polar Bears, Sangria, O'Malley, Beau, Taz, Zema, Rizzo, Bella, Happy, Sam, Guinness, Holly Noel, Larry SR, Mama, and all furkids everywhere xoxoo

Congrats on your weight loss!! Good for you, that's quite an accomlishment, and so soon after the holidays at that.

Praying for Wish, hope his BUN levels are down. Please give him extra hugs for Harlowe & I. xo

I am sitting here listening to RJD and the top 100 Christmas songs on MCR. Every hour my new Christmas carol clock goes off. It is a Kincaid clock that I got after Christmas for $4.00!

What a deal!! I love those clocks!
Are you going to keep it out for awhile?

What a beautiful picture of them!! xo

I sat on the couch for a good ten to fifteen minutes tonight just staring at the Christmas tree. It is coming down tomorrow and I am really sad about it. This year was very special, though. I got to have the tree up much longer than usual for two reasons - first being that Thanksgiving was a week earlier than usual. We put our tree up right before Thanksgiving, so we had a week extra this year. The second reason is because my dad usually takes the tree down on New Years Day. He didn't for some reason so we are going to do it tomorrow.

I can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the tree, garland, decorations, lights, etc. as much as possible this year. I can't wait to see them up next year! My house is going to look so plain now. The Christmas decorations just bring my house to life. Our house always seems so much more warm and cozy decorated! I watched Grumpy Old Men tonight and there were some Christmas scenes so I really enjoyed seeing that!

Anyways, I am off to bed. It is after one in the morning here. Good night, everyone! Hope you are all sleeping well by now and have sweet dreams!

they are so cute!!!! bless their hearts...I hope Wish will stay around for quite some time
