How did you do during the night, CAH? Hoping you have a pain-free day. Get those ribs checked!!! And that's an order from the teacher!
Actually did okay! I am still hurting though. If it gets too bad I will go see the doctor. Thanks for your concern!

I start back to school today, too. I still have some pain, so I took a pain pill early this morning. I will not take another one until after school. I hope I can make it that long. Have a GREAT day today, Jennifer.

Well, time for me to go to bed. Tomorrow starts a new semester.....boo. The next sixteen weeks will consist of nothing but work and school, how exciting! At least by the end of that time we'll be much closer to Christmas.

I always hate the night before a new semester/new school year. I always get anxious, no matter how old I am.

Good night, everyone! Sleep well & sweet dreams!

Here's to a productive week for you, 'Tis the Season!

Monday morning :( I've my first sales meeting of 2013 today, and I've a feeling after a slow week last week I'm going to be flat out this week. Aahh well have to pay the bills. Have a good one everyone.

Tell him it's proof that he's a definite presence here on the Countdown!

Some members log out each time they leave MMC, others don't---could it be that he hasn't logged out since his last visit to the Countdown?

Thanks, I try to be a presence.

I never log out, I just close the window and shut my computer down. That way I don't have to log in each time I come on here, too lazy I guess. I guess that's why it always shows me logged in.

So sorry you could not fully enjoy Christmas, Festive Spirit. We are looking forward to hearing from you on the Countdown. Jump in whenever you can. How is your weather over there?

Hello Everybody! Happy New Year!! I am sorry I am a bit late with new year wishes. I have been off the radar for a few weeks due to illness. Sadly I missed out on fully celebrating christmas :(

I hope you all had a wonderful christmas and it exceeded all your expectations! May the new year bring you joy, contentment and good health. I look forward to counting down the days till next christmas and getting to know you all a bit more.

Love
Sam

It's good to see you back. We missed you!

I am still smiling big when I see Christmas decorations still up too!

Thanks! I've missed you all, too. Glad to be back working and posting full-time!

Are uniforms very expensive there, Claire? I think you will get to love your time even though you will miss your daughter.

Afternoon all! Just popping by before getting ready for work! been uniform shopping for my youngest daughter who starts nursery this week! its only 3 hours a day but im really going to miss having her at home! will be strange having a couple of hours to myself hehe!!

Going to catch up on the posts! Have a great day everyone!! x

What kind of soup? I love making and eating it since it is such a comfort food. Tell us about William at Christmas. Did he do a lot of singing?

Good morning everyone!

Not much new hear. Another busy week! Had a great lunch at the in-laws. They made a nice home made soup. I had 3 bowls! It was very good. Also had garlic bread with garlic butter. My friends are complaining, but I have already started the 2013 Christmas countdown! Hey, if it makes you happy! And it does! Just enjoying a coffee and watching some tv. Going to do some cleaning soon. Have a Merry day everyone!

Good to see you, Brent. I remember walking to school when I was a kid (over a mile) and the temps would be in the single digits. That was back in the day when girls HAD to wear dresses or skirts. Talk about COLD!!! This will be my first week back since October. Not looking forward to it, but c'est la vie!

Good morning everyone!

I've returned to work full-time. My contract arrived late last week and I came in on Friday. But, this will be my first work week of the year. I'm sure lots of others are sharing a similar experience, although you may have known that you were returning to work!

Along my cold walk to work, there are still a few local shops that have their Christmas displays. It makes me smile and long for the Christmas yet to come. Thankfully, this countdown will keep me in check, once again! Speaking of "cold" walk. It was freezing this morning. The wind was a little brisk, which made my face almost freeze. I like cold weather, but it seemed to hit me pretty good this morning. -20c (-25c with windchill) or -4f (-13f with windchill). Yep. January is certainly the coldest month of the year!

I didn't do a whole lot this weekend. Kim and I were able to remain inside both Friday and Saturday nights. It was great to save money. Of course, we watched the Packers defeat the Vikings on Saturday night, which was great. I was a little worried - as I am with every game, especially those of the playoff variety - but they came through. Next Saturday, I will be sitting in the same place and reliving similar emotions when they take on the 49ers.

After following the lockout for several months, I was very excited to see that the NHL and NHLPA agreed to a new CBA early Sunday morning. Kim and I had suspicions while following the talks on twitter Saturday night. And, it was great to awake to the news!

Well, I hope everyone has a great Monday. It's the first full work week of 2013. Only 50 more until we reach Christmas!

Good Luck Today!!!!

Was it uphill both ways?

Welcome Back!!!! In case you missed it, we are all moving to the middle of nowhere and starting our own town. You were elected to be the physical trainer because someone has to keep us in shape after we eat all of those cakes from Christmasstar.

I remember those same feelings, CAH. It is so funny that you mentioned that line of "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas." I was thinking about that same line this past week! I remember that I just didn't get it and couldn't understand why "Mom and Dad could hardly wait for school to start again." It wasn't like that in our house either. I remember when my kids started school. I had those lonely feelings with each one and the same feelings when they left home. Oh, the life of a mother!

Good to see you! I know what you mean about missing your little ones when they start school. I was always the same way with my kids when they were little. In fact that lyric from, "It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas" where it says, "and mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again"? Nope, not me, not at all!!! I loved every single second of my kids being out of school for the holidays and summer break as well. I dreaded when they had to return back to school. We always had so much fun when they were home!!!

I also remember how parents got all emotional sending their kids off to school for the first time and I didn't quite get it but I never criticized them for it, I just didn't get it. My daughter, who is the oldest started kindergarten and I was actually okay with it, I still had my son home and very busy with him. With him being the youngest, he started kindergarten and I was just fine all the way to school. We dropped him off and I started crying! It just seem to come out of nowhere. He looked at me and said, "Mom, you can go now, I'm okay". lol..

glad you are feeling better and back here.
Happy new year to you too!

I'm with you, SIT. I don't log out either.

Good chilly morning, Christmas family. I am not looking forward to starting back to work. Even with resting a lot during the day, it is still difficult just doing stuff around the house. I could not even cook Christmas dinner and had to wait until Saturday. Even then, Hubby did the turkey and all the cleaning up. I hope all of you enjoy your day.

I am going to miss being able to pop in during the day! I know for sure that I won't be staying late after school. It will just be too tiring! GO Notre Dame!!! TTYL

Good/sad day at work yesterday. As far as everyone I work for and all the customers, always a good day! They really make me happy. We also had a lot more dogs than usual come in with their "parents" and I just love that! They all get hugs and treats from me!

The sad news was a lady brought in her Macaw Parrot that just passed away. She was in a panic and was asking us would we possibly know what could have happen to it. We do sale animal medication and know a little about treating minor animal illness but we are not vets. We have helped her in the past with other animals so she just thought we might be able to figure something out. All we could really do is suggest taking the bird into a vet for a possible autopsy. She said the bird was perfectly healthy yesterday and suddenly passed away in the morning. The sad thing was is how she broke down crying and stroking the bird. I started to cry, I felt so bad for her. I love to work with animals and have thought, in a way, it would be great to work for a vets office. I know for a fact I could never ever handle that! Too many tragedies and I would be a wreck all the time. Those Macaws are like having a child, they have large personalities. I really felt bad for her and did the best to console her. I just hope she finds out what happen to that poor baby. It was such a beautiful bird!

Speaking of people bringing their dogs in, we do have several people bring their birds (on their shoulder), cats, pigs, horses and more with them. Fun place to work. I do better working in a place where mostly healthy animals show up but occasionally someone brings in a very sick animal and it just breaks my heart!
