Christmas Countdown - 2013

Hello everyone. Well, yesterday on the 25th I watched a "kind of Christmas movie." My son had been begging me to watch Gremlins, and my wife finally found the DVD for sale. I hadn't seen it since the '80s, so I couldn't remember much of it. I was worried it would scare him but he actually just laughed through most of it. I had forgotten it took place on Christmas Eve. It was fun to see it again, but not exactly a "feel good" Christmas movie.

The dog on it reminds me of our dog Happy.

Good morning all schools are closed in the 12 counties in our area today because of flooding...we have gotten another 6 inches overnight bringing to weekend total to 14 inches. the last 2 are suppose to fall this morning. our house is fine but the roads close to our house is under water..in fact most roads are over water in some places. I have to work but brandi will have a good day off. THat is the only thing we ever have here rain days and that is not very often, Once every 3 years. I don' t think in cook or Lowndes county Ga there has ever been a snow day.lol have a great day everyone!

Wow, that has been a lot of water down there. How many inches have you gotten in the last week?

I love Gremlins, it is one of my all time favorite movies. I even have some gremlin action figures and a Gremlin t-shirt. It is very surreal with all that happens and there is Christmas music playing in the background.

Good morning,

It's Tuesday, my day off, so that means my turn to clean the house. Our tornado (LC) and hurricane (JP) are at school so it is easier to clean without them home. Laundry and dishes are also waiting for me, I am so lucky! cheesy Just relaxing in the quiet right now, but I got to get my butt moving. My youngest LC is still obsessed with nutcrackers, all he wants for his birthday is a patriotic nutcracker he saw at Joann Fabrics, my wife and I thought he would forget about the nutcrackers after Christmas but he is loving the ones he got at Christmastime, so I will have to get that for him, he is my clone as everyone says, just a chip of the old peppermint bark.
We are also getting a Hobby Lobby around here, I saw the ad in the newspaper it is opening this week at the Holyoke Mall, so now I will know what everyone is talking about here for the Christmas decor. :???:

Good Morning MMC!!!! It is a rainy dreary day here in central Indy. North of us is getting ice and snow so I won't complain. Not much on the agenda for today. Just some stuff to do on the computer. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know there was a Boston Blackie film series. I have listened to some of the OTR shows, and enjoy them. I've also listened to the Falcon, but have not seen the films. I wonder if they are on DVD. Thanks for the tip!

Looks like Warner Archive has at least a few Boston Blackies, and two volumes of the Falcon. If you have TCM in your cable lineup, you might find either series playing there---they've done marathons a couple times.

Thanks! I love the Warner Archive! I wish other studios would do the same. I have heard Universal has their Vault series that is close.

I have TCM and love it! Today they are running three of the Topper films, and I have my DVR set for "Topper Returns." I have never seen it and am looking forward to it.

oh girl, I love my SOA! we started watching it on Netflix so I can't watch the TV episodes. I don't want to miss anything or skip a season. Netflix is always 2 or 3 seasons behind. "Once Upon A Time" is also 1 I'm watching on Netflix so I can't watch the TV episodes of it either. BUMMER, but like I said, Hubby would rather watch it w/out commercials & we do not have Tvo.

speaking of SOA, do you ride?I miss it alot & the show brings back lots of memories. my hubby & I had a '90 Harley Softtail back in the day. I loved that bike but the kids came & we couldn't put a carseat on a Harley, lol. hopefully, 1 day we will have another 1 though.

I didn't actually start watching SOA until after the 5th season ended in December. I watched trailers online and I decided to order the 1st season on DVD to see if I liked it. Let me tell you, it became an obsession!! I watched all 5 seasons within a month. I got worried because Season 5 wasn't on DVD, so I bought them through Amazon to watch.

I don't ride but I was seeing a guy a few months ago that did. He had 5 Harleys! I loved riding with him, it was so much fun!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's still raining. Ugh. The rivers are nearly flowing over the local bridges and my yard is super-saturated. The school where my children attend is located in Bellville. I was contacted by a board member this morning wanting me to arrange the installation of drainage ditches for the school parking lots along the city streets. Hmmmm. Sounds pretty expensive for a once-in-every-five-year rain. I kinda doubt that's going to happen.

The wind is really blowing, too, so maybe it'll dry up some of the rain water in my yard. Here's hoping!
