This has become my new signature color!!!
The character was created by Stuart Palmer, who wrote novels and short stories featuring Miss Withers, and also wrote screenplays. When they filmed "The Penguin Pool Murder" with Edna May Oliver, Palmer was so impressed by her portrayal that afterward he wrote the character with Oliver in mind!
COACH I LOVE SAN FRAN..stay away from that Pier area- total tourist trap- get into the city,,, its yabba!
...
And as can be plainly seen, the day after tomorrow we will fling open that 300-day Christmas Day window and gaze upon the incredible sight of double-200's land!
never thought of that, cool!
Can someone direct me to Coach's post on San Francisco? My friend wants me to drive down there with her, and I wonder if Coach will be there at the same time!
Hello, everyone! Rain, ballgame duty, and pizza. Tired and heading to bed.
See everyone tomorrow before I head off to San Francisco for a work trip.
Tuesday ... well, that's about it.
Here's a photo you can put in your wallet.

Good morning,
It's Tuesday, my day off, so that means my turn to clean the house. Our tornado (LC) and hurricane (JP) are at school so it is easier to clean without them home. Laundry and dishes are also waiting for me, I am so lucky! cheesy Just relaxing in the quiet right now, but I got to get my butt moving. My youngest LC is still obsessed with nutcrackers, all he wants for his birthday is a patriotic nutcracker he saw at Joann Fabrics, my wife and I thought he would forget about the nutcrackers after Christmas but he is loving the ones he got at Christmastime, so I will have to get that for him, he is my clone as everyone says, just a chip of the old peppermint bark.
We are also getting a Hobby Lobby around here, I saw the ad in the newspaper it is opening this week at the Holyoke Mall, so now I will know what everyone is talking about here for the Christmas decor. :???:
Laundry awaits!
Have a great day!!!
Looks like Warner Archive has at least a few Boston Blackies, and two volumes of the Falcon. If you have TCM in your cable lineup, you might find either series playing there---they've done marathons a couple times.
Thanks! I love the Warner Archive! I wish other studios would do the same. I have heard Universal has their Vault series that is close.
I have TCM and love it! Today they are running three of the Topper films, and I have my DVR set for "Topper Returns." I have never seen it and am looking forward to it.

Have a blessed day everyone.
Yup, I'm right with you as well! It's really turning on me since the later half of last year! I call it AARP camouflage...lol
You better start driving!!! Pick me up on the way though.
(If I'm taking up too much time and space talking about vintage films lately, let me know and I'll start a separate thread ... it's my obvious weakness ... [blush])
The Universal Vault series will get low marks from me until they release some of Gloria Jean's Universal films. We know from our research that Universal has broadcast master tapes for at least two of her films that TCM has never aired and that have never been released as Vault DVDs. And they have film elements for all of her films co-starring a teenage Donald O'Connor, but have never released those to TCM or DVD. For shame, Universal! Time to let your hidden treasures out of the nitrate vault! The Warner Archive has even released the Mexican Spitfire comedies, but Universal is still sitting on some very charming, lively musicals made in the 1940s. (Deep breath, calm down!)
TCM is one of the main reasons we still pay for cable.
Trivia: The Topper films were made at the Hal Roach studios, home of Laurel & Hardy, Our Gang, Charley Chase, etc.
So sad that she died so young. She had quite an impressive career. I loved her comment about why she seemed to play a lot of "spinterish" parts.
Oh, yes. Loved Topper, too! Used to watch it when I was a kid!
