Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning everyone. Sorry I didn't get to post anything last night, it was kind of hectic around here. My father has been having pain in one of his legs for a couple of days and it got worse yesterday so he went in to see his doctor. After running a couple of tests the doctor decided he wanted him to go straight in to a hospital in the city where he would be able to see a specialist. I don't have all the details because as of last night they were still waiting for more test results. All I know is he has some kind of blockage and is having a procedure done this morning. My mom and brother are taking a ride back in to the city to be there. As soon as they get more information they are going to call me. His doctor here was very concerned about how bad the circulation was in that leg. So if you could please send up a quick prayer for my daddy I would really appreciate it xo

Watching a story about a guy who was a billionaire....lived a life of extravagance...and when the economy went south....it went all downhill....they had to lay off a lot of their employees, and all of their 15 nannies...

They had to sell a house they were building...they were 75 million into construction...and had to try to get rid of it for 15 million....

They bought 5 million in marble tiles from China....

Just because you have a lot of money doesn't mean you are rich....I'm so happy that my life isn't determined by how much money I have or even how successful I am. I'm rich because of my faith, my family, and my health. It's just amazing to me how some people are....

I did not get a nap today because I spend time getting together the info for the Elks Lodges in our district. I am the chairman of the children's charity and have to get reports completed. The wind kept it up all day and then two fires started somewhere in the county with LOTS of smoke blowing around. I have a bad headache from all the smoke. I will say good night and TTYT, late in the morning, hopefully before lunch.

I fell hard in love with that movie when I was 7 years old. I drew endless pictures of those cats, and knew all their names. I still have the record album with the songs, I think.

Woke up early with a whopper of a headache ... luckily, there was time enough to take a couple of tablets and sleep for another hour before the alarm went off. It left me feeling tired and vague, though. It'll be a tough workday---and we have a meeting going over changes to the 401(k) plan, to boot. Just one of those days when everything seems more difficult than it ought to be.

But I'm otherwise healthy, and the weather is beautiful, so I mustn't complain!

Good Morning MMC!!!!!!! It's going to be another hot day here with a high of 78 predicted. After 3 days of the pollen count being off the charts, my allergies have finally decided to take the bait and go crazy. I can't let that get me down though. I have lots to do. Including doing the dishes since CAH has been AWOL the last couple of days. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Thursday everyone.

I know some folks don't like it but for me this has been a great spring. Winter was a disappointment but the snow we had in early spring and the mostly below normal temps we have had are wonderful. Hopefully this trend holds. A summer where the temp never reached 80 would be heaven.

Good morning everyone!

I hope you all had a great time at the 'Pines yesterday. Carl sure pulled out all the stops for the first day of May! Today should be an eventful day. It's my final full-day at work. Tomorrow is half-day due to a physio appointment. I like a few of the people that I work with, but I'm ready to move on. Glad to have the opportunity to start a brand new position right away on Monday. Having no downtime and a constant income is exactly what I need.

Today is also forecasted to be the warmest day of the week. Temperatures should reach about 25c/77f. Beautiful weather! The long range forecast has Ottawa with sunny skies until after the following weekend. I doubt that will happen, but it looks great! The trees are either beginning to bud or have leaves make their first appearance of the year and Spring has finally arrived in Canada's capital.

Not many plans for today. I haven't been to the gym since Monday - due to my birthday and acupuncture yesterday. I think I will have to return for a little bit today, although I will not be able to do any leg exercises. I'm trying to ensure that I receive the full benefit of acupuncture. As for tomorrow, I don't know if I will be able to get into the gym either since my dad should be arriving around 3 PM. We'll see how it goes!

Well, I should get to work. I have a bit of things that need to be cleared from my desk. I don't know how much time I will have to work tomorrow, so I should really make sure I don't leave anything behind.

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I spent the afternoon yesterday cutting grass and shuttling the kids to and from church. At least I got the front and back yards cut. Now I have to cut the pecan orchard. I call it an orchard; it's just 6 very large pecan trees, but I love it. Especially when I finally get all the weeds out of the St. Augustine grass beneath them. I know pride is seldom a good thing, but I'm proud of my lawn in the pecans when it all finally comes together. LOL
