Time to get ready for bed. The fire south of us is still burning so it's somewhat smoky here. Have a great evening, everyone.

Sleep well, and stay safe.

Goodnight Planet Earth!!!!!!!

Good morning everyone! It's Friday and I am glad of that! I hope today is better than the rash of horrid days I have had here lately! The wind is blowing and it's kind of chilly and wet it's suppose to rain all day today and tomorrow so it will be the kind of weekend we will stay inside and watch tv all day or play games! Well I better start getting ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning everyone. Hope you alll looking forward to a nice weekend that is coming up. So far been up since 2 am since the person that works 3rd shift had some vacation. so to help out me and the 2nd shift guy split the hours. So 4 OT hours but way to eary to be at work 330 am yawn yawn.

Good morning!
My father had his surgery yesterday. It kept getting delayed, they didn't take him in until the late afternoon. The doctor performed a bypass and it was a complete success! It was so nerve wracking the way they rushed him in to the city like that. I wish that he was closer so that I could just go run up and see him. But I am happy that he is in good hands there. Hopefully we will find out today how long they expect him to be there. I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, it means so much to me. You are all amazing. So very thoughtful, kind and caring. I'm lucky to be part of this forum!!!

Good Morning, Wonderfully Willing Weekend Eve Wonders Wanting Wassails Wonce Again.

<< "Wonce", Crown? >>

Well, hey. Anything for the sake of alliteration.

And for the sake of accuracy, the following is presented in its entirety:
Days to the Season: 194
Days to Christmas Day: 236
The half way marker to Christmas Season 2013 arrives on May 15.
So close now to SINGLE DIGITS to that all-important and coveted Milestone!
(Isn't this exciting?)

STILL chilly here this AM but at least it's finally dry.
When will the cold weather end? Today maybe, says the weather service. I'll believe it when I see (and feel) it.
Right now, we have a coolish 51 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends!
Enjoy your Weekend to the fullest.
(And with thoughts of Christmas dancing in your head, success is just about guaranteed!)

Good morning everyone!

Well. My final day at Health Canada has arrived. At 12:30 pm, I will be leaving work for a physiotherapy appointment. It will be the end of my final shift here. I've been in and out of the office since November 2011. Although it would be nice to come but, I'm really hoping to have something permanent before I can return here next year. We shall see! Onward and upward, as they say.

My dad arrives today. I'm excited. Again, he's driving from Sault Ste. Marie and should arrive around 3 pm. It should be a night filled with hockey watching. Who am I kidding? It will be a night and weekend filled with hockey watching! We'll see if he has any other plans when he arrives.

Hopefully I'll have time to enjoy the weather this weekend. Again, temperatures are to be in the mid 20s all weekend. And, of course, the sun will be shining, too. I love all the seasons, especially Winter, but it is truly a great feeling to finally have warm weather back in Ottawa.

Well, I hope you're all ready for the weekend. It's only a few hours away. Have a great Friday!

Good Morning everyone!

They just played, Walking in a Winter Wonderland on the weather segment of the news! The weather has been wacky here. The other day was in the 80's then it dropped to the upper 30's yesterday, cloudy and still chilly this morning.

Yesterday I watched The Brady Bunch (yes, love that show still). It was the Christmas episode where Carol loses her voice due to laryngitis. I love when Cindy ask Santa to give her mom's voice back for Christmas so she can sing at church and he she would be able to sing. Her dad says, "Santa can't do that, he's not a doctor". Cindy says with a big smile, "He's better than a doctor, he's Santa Claus"! You go Cindy! I'm a dork, I know! Yep, I love that show! Ha ha!

With the cool weather that show came at a perfect time, it felt Christmasy. I then popped in a M*A*S*H DVD and watched a Christmas episode from that series.

I'm kinda of sentimental so that would be tough for me. My parents still live in the house we moved into when I was 6 (48 years ago). It is neat to go back there especially at Thanksgiving & Christmas.

Have a blessed day everyone.

No, I don't have that one, but I do have quite a few. I have about 2-3,000 lps down in the basement and even some original Beach Boys, Beatles, sound tracks and a lot of compilations. I have musicals, country and western, rock, pop, soundtracks, oldies and some disco.... I still play them too boot!

Awww ... well, I'll find a copy somehow someday. I went Disney shopping on iTunes after I logged off last night and bought the newest soundtrack album of "Pinocchio," which includes lots more of the background score.

We've got quite a mix of music in our house, too. Everything from early rock, doo-wop, vintage country, vaudeville, Broadway and soundtrack albums, children's albums, theater organ, barbershop, choral music, a cappella, and plenty of Christmas music, of course---a little bit of everything---on cassettes, CDs, and MP3s as well as 45s, LPs, and even a few 78s. (Yes, we have a turntable! Actually, two.)

I went to visit one of the houses where we used to live. I took pictures all around. I am glad I did because we went back in 2008 and it was all torn down and new homes built. I would love to see the Amish carriage and horse and the giant Bible.

That would be cool to see!!

I wish I had a better photo of the Bible. It doesn't show the details very well ... it was much more beautiful in person. Ditto the Amish carriage. I took them with a snapshot camera in pre-digital days. But I can try my hand at scanning them to see what I can coax out of them.

Good morning everyone. Sorry I didn't get to post anything last night, it was kind of hectic around here. My father has been having pain in one of his legs for a couple of days and it got worse yesterday so he went in to see his doctor. After running a couple of tests the doctor decided he wanted him to go straight in to a hospital in the city where he would be able to see a specialist. I don't have all the details because as of last night they were still waiting for more test results. All I know is he has some kind of blockage and is having a procedure done this morning. My mom and brother are taking a ride back in to the city to be there. As soon as they get more information they are going to call me. His doctor here was very concerned about how bad the circulation was in that leg. So if you could please send up a quick prayer for my daddy I would really appreciate it xo

Praying for him. Any updates?

Thanks for the update. So glad to hear that he's on the mend!

I think we all feel blessed to have found this forum as a special place to gather. I've seen a lot of kindness and caring, as well as laughter and joy, here. I'm so proud to be a part of it.

The Boston news station (radio) played a few bars of "Let It Snow" this morning while they were talking about the May snowstorms out west.

Hello everyone. I haven't been on much this week so I am way behind on posts. I hope you all are well!

I ended up not being at work yesterday as I called in sick. Wednesday night I was up until 4:00 am as I could not sleep. Turns out, I have a pinched nerve in my lower back! That thing hurts like a son of a gun! It has been shooting pain into the front of my left leg. Anyway, I'm sure it will be better soon and not anything big...be back to normal soon.

The doc has me on a steroid. He said it won't give me 'roid rage, but will make me hungry. So, my BBQ bender I have planned for this weekend may have just gotten even bigger.

Hope you all have a great Friday!
