Christmas Countdown - 2013

Well yesterday I to drop the truck off at the garage because I could smell the rear brakes burning (locking up) and the truck pulling to the right in the front. Total damage, $850.00! It needed new shoes and all new hardware for the rear brakes and for the front ones, new pads, calipers, turn the rotors, re-pack all the bearings, new brake hoses. The mechanic said I could have lost my brakes at any time because the brakes hoses were so dry rotted... That would have not been good!

So, tomorrow I'm putting the mini van in the shop for a once over before I head down to Florida and back (about 2000-2500 miles) depending on how much I drive while down there. I do this every time just to be on the safe side of things. Boy, I hope nothing wrong with that one, the last thing I want to do is break down, on I-95 in another state somewhere. That happened to me once about 15 years ago as we were driving to Bush Gardens in Virginia, about 20 miles to go to the hotel, the alternator went up in my old Chevy Blazer right on I-95. Had to get a tow truck to tow it to some garage (Bob's garage in Bob's town; lol...) and it cost me $500.00 for a rebuilt alternator.:sad:

Boy, I bet you that guy was licking his chops when he saw those out of state tags, I could have heard him tell the rest of the mechanics there that day, " Ok boys, we got a sucker here, shops closing early today.....", :lol: ....

Yikes, ouch.

Hello everyone!
It is going to be warmer today, we will have a high of 80 degrees. Scattered showers/storms are expected.
I plan on going to Target later this morning, I have a list of things that we need. And while I am there I'm going to pick up a couple of tubes and maybe those noodle thingies to throw in the pool. I read that they may keep the ducks from landing in the pool. We'll see what happens. I also want to stop at the pet store for some new kitty cat toys. So many of their toys seems to vanish, I don't know where they go.
My daughter has her first driving lesson today after school with an instructor. I hope she does well with the private lessons. I just can't teach her. I am a nervous wreck.

Good Morning MMC!!!!!! It's going to be a hot one here today!!! Ugh. We are looking at a high of 86 with 80% humidity. So needless to say my a/c is going to get a workout. My plans for today involve working on my movie script and then helping my neighbor's granddaughter move a bunch of stuff into storage. Then I'm going to pass out from heat exhaustion. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!

Have the day off, of course that just means off from the place that pays me to work!
I have lots of work to do here. Like others here, I have that urge to get the house all clean before leaving for vacation.

Also have to make sure there is enough stuff for the cats when Emily comes to look after them. They all know something is up and are all restless. I worry about leaving them for a week and will miss them.

Wow, all last night and through most of the morning it seemed like there was one continuous thunderstorm. I turned the mini blinds around to block out the lightning flashes and slept fairly well, as did Mouse. Palmer was afraid, poor baby. I heard on the news this morning there might have been three tornadoes south of where I live, in the Flint area. The rain had no where to go so I am keeping tabs on my basement again. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to see it flood, but I am better prepared to take care of things now. Lesson learned!

Yep, all week!

The forecast is a good chance of rain & storms everyday. I can't remember the last day without rain, or with sun, LOL.

This afternoon, chance of severe storms. I better go grocery shopping early!

When you're on I-95 and you cross I-16 near Savannah, blow your horn. You're only about 30 minutes away from Bellville!
