Good day, all. Hubby and I have another out of town meeting tonight and tomorrow night. It's not too bad since they serve dinner for a reasonable price. We had to go to Paradise last night, about an hour away. Having those meetings somewhat limits my time online for a few days, but I will try to stay caught up on the Countdown. I always have my computer on so I can check in quickly from time to time. TTYL

My son-in-law got off work early today so the kids just left. We had a picnic out in the backyard, they played a little, then they made their first stop motion video. Maybe they can make the next Rankin Bass film! If you get into making those professionally they can take a very long time. This one took about 30 minutes to put together; take pictures, upload to computer, put in the movie maker, add the music and after it was complete the video itself was only about 10 seconds long! :lol: It's cute though!

Good afternoon, everyone! How are you all doing? I am doing well, just checking in with you. What is new? Nothing here. Just waiting for the kids to get home from preschool./daycare.

How is your day going? Mine is going well. I've been up for a little while. I've been doing some things around the house and thought I would drop by.

What are your plans for tonight? DH works, so my sister will be coming in to watch the kids, since I work too. I work for 6 days straight. Blahh! Oh well! I already have one down!

Judesmama, I think I was the only mom in my neighborhood that wanted my kids with me all summer. The rest of the moms complained on the first day of summer that they wished their kids were back in school! lol... Not me!!!! Sure, my kids got nutty sometimes, not perfect and I needed a little break but not too long of one!

Also, that line from, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas, "mom and dad can hardly wait for school to start again". Not me on that either! Christmas vacation was not long enough, I didn't want them to go back!

Now that I am a grandmother I do enjoy my time when the kids go home. I raised my kids and now it's "me time"! Babysitting is perfect, borrow the kids, have fun and send them home. Not sure I would be physically able to raise kids. Get too tired easily.

Speaking of kids, my grandchildren and I are going to find something to do!

you can add me to the list of moms who loved summer break with the kids! I always had so much fun with the kids, we went on many picnics, to museums and science world, the beach and yes Costco (sample day!)We camped and went for walks. I also babysat a lot and included those kids in some of these activities. As for grand kids, I am going to have to just adopt the neighborhood kids, does not look like I will ever have any of my own. Of course my eldest daughter offered to get right on that for me, but I said no, being a single mom is a lot of hard work!
Summer now is just everyone being busy, maybe occasional trips to the beach, still go to Costco but that is for shopping more than the samples, although those are still nice too.
