We plan to go up north, WI to the resort areas. Our friends own some property there, and so do my two uncles. We'll spend the days on the lake & shopping at some of the quaint little stores.

Adrian also wants to go to Door County & stay at some B & B's, and to hit some of the biking trails around there too! We may save a weekend in the fall for that, though.

We missed you around here, girl!!

We love Door County as well. We've stayed at the White Lace Inn a couple of times in Sturgeon Bay and love visiting Tannenbaum in Sister Bay to check out all of the Christmas decorations. Last time we visited, they also had some pretty neat Halloween decor as well.
A Fall trip will be spectacular if you go, Snowflake!

Hi, everyone! I am back!

I just finished one of my summer classes last week and now I have two more that are just starting. I am having a nice summer so far, except the weather hasn't been that great until recently. Regardless, I am just excited to not have to drive to campus and sit in class! That is the advantage to online classes.

I obviously have a lot of catching up to do, I don't even know where to begin! How is everyone and what's new? Anyone planning a vacation this summer? I am going on a cruise in August and I am so excited!

I am also really happy that I am back so I can be here for Christmas in July. I can't believe how fast time is flying - almost 6 months exactly until Christmas! I will just be happy when September gets here because that's when I really allow myself to get excited.

I am going to try to go and read back a few pages - or a few hundred haha. Wish me luck!

Nascar race is over so now it's time to switch over to Discovery Channel and watch Nik Wallenda get ready and walk across the Grand Canyon on a highwire. That's probably going to be scarier than the race.

JP was waiting for that all day, we recorded it for him since he went to bed at 8. He was miserable all day from staying up to watch the fireworks last night.

Getting ready to go to bed, we were watching "Django Unchained" but the season premiere of one of my wife's favorite shows came on (Copper) and I had to get my clothes and lunch ready for work tomorrow so we will finish the movie on Tuesday. (Bruins game tomorrow night) The movie has been pretty good so far.

Morning ! Hope you all had a great weekend. My eldest has been unwell through the weekend so we didn't get up to much. He is off school today so we won't be doing much. I worked yesterday so I am happy to have a quiet day today. It is rainy and overcast here....feels a bit autumy. I noticed a few of you have seen some signs of Christmas in the shops, how exciting!!!!

It is great to see so many people coming back to the board, the christmas countdown is heating up.........

Well it's a huge week for all my American friends out there celebrating 4th of July!! What are your plans and traditions.....I would love to hear!!

Another week is here.
And not just any week.
A MILESTONE week!

Yes my friends, we have a BIG journey marker coming up on Wednesday.
In case you have been living in a Christmas-trimmed cave and don't realize it, we will be HALF WAY BACK TO CHRISTMAS on the 26th of this month, which just happens to fall on 'Pines day.
(And of course, you know what that means!)

The count:
Days to the Season: 142
Days to Christmas Day: 184

The humidity was still quite with us yesterday but the temps were not high so it wasn't too bad.
And a late afternoon rain refreshed things a bit.
We stand just over 73 degrees here in the capital city at this hour.

one thing I know for sure, never turning off thee downstairs air conditioner all night again while it is this hot! I will put it on low, but not off. It has been on for 1/2 hour now and still muggy in here.
