Good Morning Everyone!, its been another beautiful weekend here in Sunny Wales, but it has also been a sad weekend for our town and mountains. This weekend the hottest for a good 6-7 years has caused some major problems, we sadly lost 2 local people one on saturday and one on sunday who took no notice of the warning signs around the local reservoirs, neither drowned but their bodies simply closed down as the water was so cold. The Brecon Beacons are used by all sectors in our military, from sas to territorial. This weekend was the turn of the Territorial Army, the national news are claiming that two soldiers died and one is in intensive care, but the local news on the street is that the mountain rescue brought six bodies down on saturday. We are all really shocked and the town is a somber place today. As a town which has proudly hosted the British army for many years, we are respect and support them. The bunting is hanging throughout the town ready to celebrate the birth of the new Royal, perhaps people shall see it more as a mark of respect for those who did not join us this monday morning.

Good Monday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had a great birthday yesterday. My mom make spaghetti, substituting turkey for ground beef. You couldn't tell the difference, and I love her spaghetti sauce. She simmers it all day with fresh tomatoes, onions, etc. Yum, yum! Oh, and I got a very cool Star Trek t-shirt!

I just realized my driver's license expired yesterday. These days, they want you life history to get a replacement. Birth certificate, SS card, copies of utility bills (to verify your address), etc. That's seriously crazy. And to top it off, I had lost my birth certificate some where along the way. Usually, that's not a big deal, but I was born in Germany while my dad was stationed there. So, I had to apply to the State Dept. for a replacement Report of Consular Birth Abroad form. It took forever (and a big check), but I finally got it last week.

I'll be glad when things settle down!

Today, I have to run out to our bank & get my application for my real estate license notarized. Then, I have a few errands to run.

That is ridiculous that the other parents wouldn't pick up the kids.

You're such a good Mom! That must've been scary driving that highway at night, I think I remember seeing a story or two about that on 48 Hours or Dateline.

Thank you Snowflake. I thought it was ridiculous too. I can't believe the audacity some of these kids, and parents, have! The drive there was scary. You probably did see a story about what happened, they were calling it The Gilgo Beach Murders. People still talk about it around here a lot since they never caught the killer.
My daughter is still sleeping, she skipped drivers ed today. I'm hoping she feels better when she wakes up.
I also spoke with the veterinarian and we are going to increase Maggies medicine, hopefully that will do the trick. Thank you for the prayers!

Homemakingirl, I just read about the situation with your daughter and no parents wanted to pick them up. We have been there before when my kids were younger. Sometimes it's a situation where some girls are afraid to call their parents for rides home because they might get in trouble for waking them up or whatever reason so they just say their parents won't get them without even attempting to try and call. I am not saying that was the case with you but it has been with me when my kids were growing up. I am glad you are a good mom and your daughter felt comfortable calling you. That is great! In my case, and sounds like your case as well, I always told my kids and still do even though they are grown that they can call me anytime, day or night, 3 in the morning and wake me, I don't care. If it's important, I will answer!!! When they were teens and felt like they were in an unsafe situation or ever needed a ride that we will be there! I told them this every time they went anywhere. I have known parents who would yell at their kids if they dared wake them up in at night with phone calls. That is insane! My kids need to know that they can safely call me for anything at anytime if there is something important! Good for you to be there for your daughter. =)

I guess my young cousin, aged 20, caught onto this because a few months ago I got woke up at 1 am because his little doggy was sick and he needed advice! Lol. I tried to help him, he was upset.

I hope your little doggy will be okay. How old is she?

I just got a surprise! My son-in-law has already picked up the kids. He just had to clean out a moving truck today and that's it. He just informed me he has the rest of the week off because his boss is going out of town so that means I have a week long vacation! I will miss the kids but this is a much needed break. I have been running 7 days a week, babysitting, working at my job, busy at church, running errands and starting to feel very run down.

Plans for the week... REST! I also have a couple of video projects to do for church. Planning to catch up on some cleaning and organizing too. Since I am not feeling 100% today, I think I will start off with watching a Christmas movie and resting. Oh yeah, I might actually have more time to visit you all on here!!!!!!!

Anyone else getting hit with insane heat this week??? 93 today and up to 97 later this week.. .and VERY humid. Blah!!!! We had a brief humidity reprieve on Saturday and it was (almost!) cool out. It was glorious!

Well, better take the kids to the park before it's unbearable out... hoping Sounds of the Seaons will switch to Christmas in July by the time I'm back!

oh yeah, going to be hot, hot, hot all week!
It is 29c (84f) but with the humidity it feels like 39c (102f) Air conditions are on and we are enjoying them. I hope that with all of this and everyone's ac on the power does not go off.

He just informed me he has the rest of the week off because his boss is going out of town so that means I have a week long vacation! I will miss the kids but this is a much needed break. I have been running 7 days a week, babysitting, working at my job, busy at church, running errands and starting to feel very run down.

Thank you CAH! You are 100% right, none of the kids even attempted to call their parents. It's so sad that they would be afraid to call their own home. I just can't wrap my head around that. My girls also know that they can call me at any time. And if I do get a call in the middle of the night, I don't get mad. I can't get to them soon enough!
Thank you for thinking of Maggie. She will be 9 years old on August 1st. A lot of people are surprised by that, they think she looks like a puppy. If the medicine doesn't kick in soon I'm going to ask if there is something else she could take. I know I keep saying it, but it's so hard to see them uncomfortable!
I hope you enjoy your "vacation" and get plenty of rest this week!!

HELLO!!! I have missed you all !!! How are you all doing. I have not been on here for about a week so I can just imagine all that I have missed!! The heatwave is here and I LOVE it!!!

What have you all been up to? I hope I have not missed anything important, if I have please fill me in.

How was everybody's weekend? On Friday we had a surprise birthday party for my mother in law. These days I am making the most of this gorgeous weather.

I am not feeling 100% either today, I suspect it is the heat. So grateful for air conditioning.

Fortunately for us, it's only going to get 80 degrees and will be raining most of the day. It is so nice out that we are not running our air conditioner, I have the windows opened! So nice and cool!

wow, sleep in one morning and it takes me half the day to catch up here!

Went out right away to pick up a few things and could not believe how hot it was already. The temperature continues to climb. I cannot remember the last time it was so hot here.

Took some Tylenol and my headache is going away now.
Cleaning up around the house, hoping power stays on with everyone having ac on full blast. Even the cats are sprawled out on the floor trying to stay cool.
My son is home doing the same. LittleCS is working with a kids camp at the church today. This is a day camp that runs for one week. I hope they at least keep everyone indoors away from this heat. My eldest is sleeping having just got off a night shift this morning. Good thing she decided to buy that air conditioner a couple of weeks ago.
