I am happy about the "cool down" of 94 and you are in a heat wave of 95! I am not thrilled with 94 but it's a lot better than that over 100 stuff! The weather guy just actually said cold front this weekend. Cold front? The high will be 90! I better get my winter coat out!

not feeling good this morning . I have to go to work at 10 am but not sure at this point I would make it standing there all day. But I cannot afford to take a whole day off. Why can I not get sick on a day I only have 4 hours.
Maybe in an hour or so I will feel better.
Going to be supper hot again today and humid again. It is already 22c (71f) feeling like 31c (87f) and the sun is not even up yet.

Hang in there, Star. But if you get to feeling too bad, go home and get some rest. Health is worth more than money.

I say we take a holiday.....create one.....everybody stay home, sleep late, and get up and drink coffee....

Sounds good---add tea and hot cocoa options to that coffee!

Good morning!!! I can't hardly stand to watch all this 9/11 coverage - it is just too sad!!! But that is what is on at work. It almost seems disrespectful to turn it off, but ugh...ugh...ugh! Seems like it was just yesterday.
Not much going on at work again today! I guess that means more time for playing on the forums, right? Hee hee! Last night I canned 6 1/2 quarts of tomato juice. The tomatoes are starting to slow down just a little! (That's ok...I can handle 6 1/2 qt in 1 night!) I had just a little bit left that wouldn't fit in the jar, so I put it in the fridge & drank it this morning. It was possibly the best ever! (that I have made) I put just a little seasoning salt, garlic salt & celery salt in it. Mmmm!
Hope you are all having a great morning!!! It's going to be another warm one here!!

I love picking all the fruit this time of the year, the apple farm down the road will be opening soon and I want to get there right away before the popular varieties are gone. There is a pear tree out int he country close to here loaded with pears that we are going to pick next weekend.

The orchard down the street has their Apple Cider sign out & right now they have Macintosh apples! I might have to go get me some of both!!

Well if you are going to throw it out the window, let me know in advance so I can be outside to catch it!!!!!

I always laugh about that...the doctor preaches, but look in the mirror!!! We could all be a little healthier I think.

Nope, but it sounds good! I have a rhubarb pie recipe that I love that is a custard style.

We had a pleasant drive up here and are resting until the meeting and then dinner! Dinner will be chicken Marsala, one of my favorites!

Speaking of QVC, I almost forgot to tell y'all what I bought last week! I ordered the foldable, pre-lit Christmas tree, Povitica, Nu-Wave 8-in-1 Digital Oven with 7-piece bakeware set,a gold cookie sheet set, and the Smithfield spiral-cut ham (December delivery).

Oh cool! I agree - post pics! I will be over the day after your ham is delivered for a meal!!!

I am still out sick with kidney stones but I am feeling better.I may try work tomorrow...But I was just in bed watching tv and cat napping when I saw my first Christmas commercial!!! It was the Kmaart Layaway commercial with the gingerbread man! That alone makes me feel so much better.Has anyone else seen a commercial yet...? Up until now I have not even seen any fall/Halloween commercials.

I haven't seen any TV commercials, but on Boston.com there are banner ads for the Boston Pops holiday concert season, the Boston Ballet's production of The Nutcracker, and Christmas Story (The Musical). Sure signs that the season is approaching!

I hope those stones find a speedy exit soon. Is having them broken up with ultrasound an option? A friend of ours had to go that route.

The office I was working in then didn't close, so I was trying to get news throughout the day via the Internet, and the news sites were clogged. Early on, there was the fright of not knowing when and where the next blow would fall. No, it doesn't seem like 12 years ago.

Got up a couple of hours ago, made coffee and as soon as it was made the electricity went out! The whole neighborhood went out and finally got up and running about an hour ago.

The temps are finally dropping, around 94 degrees for the high today and I am actually a little happier about that. It will be right at 90 for the high this weekend. Maybe this is a sign that our triple digits are finally coming to an end!

I remember the fear of not knowing what was going on. I was the opening manager at autozone that morning and we were busy. So I was hearing some reports over the radio while trying to wait on customers but it was hard to keep up. Then when it finally started to die down after the first hour or so, I remember going outside and watching the planes come in. We had 45 planes land at the airport here. Memphis was the only other place that got as many. It really wasn't until I went home on my lunch hour though and turned on the news, that I really got a sense of what had happened.

Hello gang. I am sitting outside as the kids play with their friends. We try to let them play put as much as possible because we know winter is coming and they won't have as many chances.

I am tired! I am trying to go a few miles each morning at the gym and its wearing me out! I have to do the treadmill because my allergies go crazy when I run (aka walk fast and call it running). Long story short, I'm tired!

I have been trying to sit outside every night this week after it cools off a little just b/c I don't know how much longer I will be able to do that - in shorts & a t-shirt!! Have to enjoy it while I can!!!!! Last night it was 10:30 until I was able to sit out on our patio, but I loved all the sounds - locusts, etc were making a lot of music!!

Yes, it's can be a bit trying until you get settled in. You'll do great

so frustrating when a cake does not turn out right! This humidity is not good for icing. If I did not have at work at the store tomorrow I would do it all over again, but do not have the time. Someone is getting a free cake (my policy if it is a mess)

I know how you bakers are - our friend makes pies - well when my aunt/uncle were home from NC she made us an apple pie! It was so yummy looking & tasted even better! She didn't want us to pay for it b/c she wasn't happy with how it turned out! HA! WHATEVER! It was great. And I am sure yours is too!!! But sorry you aren't happy with it!

Great news, DH was able to replace the screen to my Digi Camera and it is working fantastic now! Love him so much , he never fails me!

I did see it last night and I was excited!

Do they have anything better to do with their time than sit around sulking over a commercial that last 31 seconds? I mean, come on! There is nothing offensive about it. I don't have a problem if they thought to themselves that it was a little early but to make a public fuss about it and cause an uproar??? There are serious problems in the world and this is not one of them! It makes me wonder if they are miserable people 24/7.

Now I am making a fuss over people fussing! Ha ha! Rant over. :wink:

Hello everyone. It is going to be hot and humid here today, with a high of 90 degrees. It is supposed to cool off by Friday.
Not too much going on for me today, typical day of errands and chores.
I am having my coffee right now, watching the September 11th ceremonies. I can't believe it has been 12 years. It is so important to remember the victims, survivors and those who continue to fight for our freedom, today and always. May all who perished rest in peace. God Bless America.

Great news, DH was able to replace the screen to my Digi Camera and it is working fantastic now! Love him so much , he never fails me!

I am doing my weekly online shop and I just noticed that they added another christmas section - Christmas Bakery. There are already some lovely festive goodies on there. It made my day! Wow guys , it really is beginning to look alot like christmas!

I have decided to repaint our living room. It needed touching up (kids!) so I am going to change the colour and get new wallpaper for the chimney breast. It won't be too much of a big job as the room is small. Anyway I want to get it done before Halloween.

Ok well I'm off to get a few things done but I will be in and out of here through out the day as usual You all make great company, thank you!

I did see the Kmart commercial a couple times. Makes me smile!!!! I also love the Hallmark commercial for the Countdown to Christmas. I hope the stone(s) passes quickly on their own!!!
