Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I had to take Lulu to the vet last night for an emergency visit. She seemed to be choking on something, and I couldn't see any thing in her throat. They said her tonsils are swollen (I didn't even know dogs had tonsils :?) and some lymph nodes are, too. The gave her a steroid shot and sent us home with more steroid pills, so hopefully that'll do the trick. Now I just have to pay the vet.

More Vice-Presidents in the office today, so I'm keeping a low profile.

I'm turning in soon, I am very headachy tonight. Just waiting for my oldest to get home from work, she should be here any minute.
My middle daughters job interview went well this afternoon, they offered her the position. I'm relieved that she found something. And she's really happy, she loves the store.

I've heard Carl is going to do it up big tonight at the Pines. Apparently his new girlfriend is coming and he wants to introduce us all!

Carl had a cannon a couple of years ago , we thought he got rid of it after what happened to Binger and Crown.
A new girlfriend? I wonder if she is as crazy as Carl?

I went out one year. Got to the mall at 3:00am because they were doubling gift cards- what you put in, they doubled. I went out for that- saw people carrying sleeping kids in pajamas. And people jumping over planters and running through the mall. I got my gift card and left. Was home in bed by 3:30 and I said never ever again.

I did it one year as well, hated it, wasn't impressed, and didn't understand how people think it's fun. I like the of staying home and being able to sit in front of my computer, in my pj's if I want to, with a cup of coffee!

You have not let us down! We love it when you can join us!!! As for the leaf peeing, I won't say anything about that, LOL!

Hey all! Things have been super busy and I feel so left behind! WHen I miss a day or two here I feel like I have let everyone down it's terrible!! Anyway we went away last Friday for the weekend to go leaf peeing. It was awesome almost as pretty as New England in the fall. It seems as though winter is here! We are at 40F right now and suppose to get down to 33F tonight. I think we will see snow any day now! Just 2 more weeks to Halloween and I guess you can say we are moving into mid fall now going by the Calendar! Well I better get to sleep because it's my night to get up with the boys plus you know I have work and all!Lol goodnight friends! I will try to talk to yall in the morning!

Good evening, MMC!

Long day running errands and hanging out with my cousin - good stress relief! The pages are jumping all around on here today so it is taking a bit longer to do things. I will answer PMs tomorrow when I have more time. Did not sleep much last night/this morning. Palmer woke me up at 2:30 am to show me her teddy bear. Why, I have no idea. It was rather important to her so I looked at it and then tried to go back to sleep. Early night tonight, most definitely!

CAh, that sounds like a perfect way to do Black Friday!

With all the talk of Black Friday, we do go out every year to the malls and select stores BUT we absolutely DO NOT stand in some line starting at 5:00 am to be the first in for some type of discount. We get up mid morning and leisurely go to the mall for all the Christmas entertainment they have. We go see the ice skating show in the middle of the mall starring Santa which follows with the tree lighting ceremony, watch the Christmas carolers, musicians and other things going on. We have a nice lunch and just walk around soaking up the atmosphere. It's a little crowded but has never been out of control with any kind of stampede, THANKFULLY! I have seen those crazy antics on TV like Binger mentioned and decided that is not for me! The crowd we end up with are people like us just enjoying the Christmas sights and sounds. It's a wonderful day and I have Wayne aka Snow-in-Texas to thank for that. I would not go out on Black Friday before I met him thinking it was just full of lunatics but he said the time he goes and where he goes it's not like that. He was right!

Last year we went to a historic downtown in Fredericksburg, Texas and it was amazing with really nice calm people just strolling the streets looking at merchandise in the local shops and the decorations. I guess it all depends on where you go on that day and making sure they are not having some type of thing where you have to line up early for stuff. I cannot wait for Black Friday to get here!

I am not criticizing anyone who enjoys the middle of the night standing in line sales. It's just not for me! cheesy

Good morning y'all. Today is my last work day for the week. The college where I work is in fall break and we all have the rest of the week off. The wife will still be working and our son is still in school so I'll just stay around the house and get some chores done.

I agree that it is sad that Macy's is opening Thanksgiving night. Black Friday is fine but retail stores need to avoid opening on Thanksgiving. The only way to stop it is for folks to stop shopping on Thanksgiving but that won't happen.

We live in a remote area so we do a lot of our shopping online. The closest mall or real shopping center is almost 2 hours away. Even Walmart is a hour away. We will shop some on black Friday since we are down visiting parents for Thanksgiving and we usually make a trip to Pigeon Forge, TN to shop on a Saturday during the season.

Yup, that is ditto for me as well!

I did the Black Friday thing twice about 25 years ago and I have never done it since. And since then, it's gotten alot worse.

I'd rather stay in bed till later that morning, get up, pour a cup of coffee, turn on the computer and do some shopping (if I really wanted something). Then spend the rest of the day eating left overs, watching football, taking a nap and then watching Christmas movies....:stuffed:
