Christmas Countdown - 2013

Good morning, all! Here it is Thanksgiving week already, it snuck up on me like it always does. I'm going to have a busy week, but it will be fun for once. I'm making pies, and helping decorate the church for Advent. I love to decorate!
 
busy weekend coming up for me.

friday is a christmas shopping day, saturday is our village christmas tree light up and polar express in our local cinema, sunday is a beautiful christingle service at church.

also, my daughter has been chosen to play mary in her pre school nativity. couldn't be prouder cheesy:D

was supposed to put my tree up today, but i think it will be tomorrow now.

i spent yesterday at some german christmas markets in our local town centre. eating bratwursts and drinking gluwein. it was great! would love to get over to germany one year and experience the real thing.

No (major) traveling for us! Yesterday we drove 10 miles to get to Thanksgiving w/ my FIL's family! Thanksgiving lunch is at our house, supper is at my sisters, wich is about 5 miles from our house! :smile:

Have a nice Thanksgiving at your in-laws!!

Hopefully those of you who do have to travel won't be affected by the winter storm!!
 
(((Mgramsey))) I am so sorry to read about your loss. Your Mom isn't suffering anymore, but darn that's hard! Keeping you & your family in my prayers!

I want to thank all of you for your prayers and thoughts during these last few years as she bravely battled cancer.

I will be away for several more days as I spend time with my family.

Good afternoon.
Just popping in to say hello. Super busy day here. I have two kids home sick. We've been to the doctor and back and forth to the pharmacy. I'm trying to catch up with a bunch of chores and errands now, I'm just having a quick coffee break. Oh and I was helping my youngest with her college applications. She applied to ten colleges this afternoon. I'm kind of freaking out about it. My two oldest stayed local so she will be the first one to leave me. I'm excited for her though, it's all good.

This morning when I went outside, the temperature was in the teens. Oh it took a long time for the car to warm up today!

Tomorrow, we are supposed to have a weather system roll in, with it starting out as Ice and then turning into rain for Tuesday and Wednesday. Now, what would be nice, is that it would turn to snow and then I could have off Tuesday and Wednesday for a 6 day weekend....That's because Thursday and Friday is a paid holiday for me.... :thumbsup:

I talked to our customer this morning who has a son living in Maryland. The son was supposed to be driving to Ohio for Thanksgiving. He said he told him to keep his b*tt in Maryland & enjoy Thanksgiving with his wifes family! Lol! He didn't want to be worried about them on the road!!!

Hi xmastidings, we are currently experiencing a coolish change . Holding steady at barely below 30C (86F) . Beautiful weather for summer sports , driving in the country/farmland and kayaking down the murrumbidgee river

Oh my! I never thought about it being the final rudolph day! :grin: Better enjoy it, huh? And to think 1 month from now Christmas Eve will be all over. Ok -not going to think about that!!!!

It's Monday, but, the last one in November, which is a good thing because that means December is on our doorsteps and knocking on the door....

It's a cold one here in the outer parts of Baltimore County this morning with temps in the teens....Oh boy did that warm bed and lots of covers feel soooooo good this morning, it took all the effort in the world for me to roll out of bed this morning.

I got all my Christmas cards filled out last night for the exchange, today, I'm heading out to the post office to get some stamps and tomorrow I will get them all in the mail. We are in full packing mode at home, but have yet to nail a new home. We have been unsuccessful so far in all of our attempts of putting offers in on a home to purchase. Last night, we put a contact in for house that we saw, visited and liked a lot, wish us luck.

Lisa has been walking around the house singing; "I'll be homeless for Christmas....", not really, but that's what's she's singing, I think it's funny. Our settlement date is Dec. 27th on our home, oh this will be fun.... Watch, we haven't had any snow for 2 years and we will get a blizzard on the day we move, lol...

If we don't get this house or find a home, Lisa's parents have offered for us to stay with them for a little bit until we do so; that was nice of them....
